We were on the road for 2 months and broke down in our RV outside Nampa, Idaho. We called five RV repair centers, and they were all booked a week out including Rent for Fun RV. Shelby told us to get the RV towed in and he would take a quick look to see if he could determine our problem. He offered us a car while they checked on the motorhome so we could get something to eat. Upon returning Shelby located the problem, repaired the problem and we went on our way. There was no pressure to buy at that moment he gave us time to think about it and call at a later date when we had made up our mind. Once we knew it was the boat for us Chad helped us with all the paperwork and even added on a free Un winterization package and offered to take us out on the lake for the first time. We learned how to use our boat and explored a new to us lake. Honestly, I thought buying a used boat we would not get the service as if we bought a brand-new boat, but everyone at prestige treated us as if we bought a brand-new boat.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We did some shopping in their proshop area for all of our gear and they offered us a generous discount for purchasing our boat with them! We did a demo on the water the day we picked it up and learned about all the features on the boat. We had a minor issue once we got back to the house, but Chad was there to answer our questions after hours and fixed the problem without hesitation. They came in under their work estimates for 2 of the three jobs they did and were prompt in responding to queries. I am not an expert on airstreams so I don't know what to expect in terms of cost but I was not surprised. The total work for a doorknob repair, bearing/axle exam and repacking, and bodywork for the above collision took about 45 days; I was not in a hurry, and it was a lot of work, so no complaints there. Finished work was beautiful. When the transport company for my cousin showed up a week early, they called me and were able to release the trailer to the transporter when my wife went over in person-- the right move for the situation, since I was out of cell phone range. Al Martinez responded to texts promptly when I asked for work updates. All in all an excellent experience in helping me in an unfortunate situation.

Because of this oversight, the entire lower unit almost fell off while I was out on the water with my wife and daughter. It was a terrifying experience that put my family in direct danger. When I took the boat back, instead of apologizing for the mistake, the owner was incredibly rude. He blamed my motor's custom design for the issue, even though the real problem was his shop's failure to secure it properly. He eventually fixed it, but then called me just to gripe and complain about how he "wasted his time" on a "dumb motor." A professional shop should know how to follow basic safety specs the first time. The owner's lack of accountability and his aggressive attitude are completely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and the safety risk, take your boat somewhere else!

I tried Carlson Small Engine because of the lack of negative reviews, he was more convenient than…read moresome places since he's in the middle of Caldwell, and since he was available and answered the phone or called back pretty quickly, and his hourly rate was more reasonable than most these days. And I love that's he a young entrepreneur, and he's doing a practical job to fix things with his hands to help support himself/ his family and help reduce waste in our disposable mindset culture. And when you talk to him, it becomes clear that he has a generally good attitude and is customer-service oriented. I also greatly appreciated that he was patient with the extra time it took me to take the info he gave me and research more, and ask more questions, etc., to make sure I felt comfortable with the work that would be done, and the end price of $120ish was pretty reasonable, in my opinion, to repair a 10-year old Briggs and Stratton mower engine that had started leaking oil profusely when running and hot. I and my children have now used it a few times to mow the yard and it's working great! it seems a little harder for me to pull the starter cord than it did before, but it could just be me, because the children didn't say anything about anything being challenging in any way. They zipped right through mowing like they usually do. He gave me a heads up that he was in the middle of working on a side by side or something when I dropped it off just before July 4, so it took him a few days to give me an initial estimate. Then it took days before I got back to him with the holiday and visiting my mom elsewhere and everything. once I felt comfortable and paid Sam for the invoice, which he sent electronically through email, it was only a few more days before he told me it was done. A few other places I called were booked out at least a couple weeks before I could even drop it off, and it got checked out and repaired while I was elsewhere, so I wasn't home to mow anyway. And other places' hourly shop rates were definitely more! The whole experience was MUCH better than throwing away an inexpensive and repairable mower and then buying a new mower for 3 or 4 times the price of what I paid for repairs or for that mower when it was new, especially when a new main gasket and new spark plug and sharpened blade breathed new life into my current (basic but reliable) Weed Eater brand mower (yes they made a mower back in the day lol!!!). I had just barely changed the air filter so that wasn't needed. Sam answered all my concerns and gave me time to research others' use or not of RTV on the gasket, explained how his invoicing and payment processes worked in advance, etc. and I got it back cleaner than it's looked in years lol. Overall positive experience and I'll definitely take that or another mower to him in the future for repair or maintenance!
