NORWALK NEEDS BETTER NAIL TECHS. Got my nails done Easter afternoon, yesterday. I walked in and luckily you could hear a pin drop. Not a single soul in site. The owner wanted me to explain what I wanted to do for my nails but I wasn't sure if I wanted to a fill in or removal and polish. I went with the nail tech Amy because that was who my cousin referred. She took her time and was pleasant to work with but I can't say if I got a real feel for it since no one was there for the hour and a half I was in the salon. Though Amy was pleasant her work was not seamless. Lines were not clean polish spilled to the cuticle and she didn't clean it up. She isn't horrible but I definitely won't go back for a French or any designs. If I go back, it'll be a plain uv gel polish. The woman who worked on my nails did her job but this place needs to do better with showing the correct sample colors to what their powdered nails are going to look like. The sample I looked at showed a more nude pink and the one i got was a more Barbie/neon like pink. I still tipped the woman who did my nails 20% but I don't necessarily think it's her fault. But I do think they need better samples or show a test nail maybe to clients. Im never coming back here again but this was not at all worth it and I'm leaving frustrated and annoyed. read more

If you are interested in getting UV gel tips or gel fills, I would stay away from this place. You might end up becoming a test subject. You would think at $45, I might get a decent manicure. Instead, I ended up getting such a bad gel fill that three of my five fingers are now bleeding at the cuticle. My nail shape is completely warped. The head manicurist, May, took over half way through the manicure and spent the whole time yelling at my original manicurist in Cantonese. The owner man and May were witness to all of this and had zero issue charging me full price. No apology for my experience or the cuts on my fingers. The quality of service is going downhill... The manager rushes the nail technicians and you'll most likely have to come back to fix your nail. I don't plan to return to this nail salon. I went to get a pedicure and it dried smudged. The manager - May fixed it but failed to properly put the paper around toes when drying so it smudged AGAIN. It's one thing if it's the customer but the customer service is just no longer there. She came to fix my nail and proceeded to tap (more like smacked!) my foot. I did not appreciate this because it wasn't a light tap but rather harsh to try to get me to put my foot down (she could have said "please put your foot down rather than gesture with a smack to the foot). She then proceed fix the smudged nail with an attitude. All that to say ...the pedicure wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't recommend coming to this nail salon. I wanted to go back to fix my nails but it was too late when I got out of work and they were closed. Lisa gave me a massage and she was very good!! I will definitely come back! Unfortunately, Tiffany didn't do a good job on my nails!! She's a very nice girl but messed up a lot of times. I paid $38 for a dip powder manicure and $22 for a regular pedicure plus a $5 service fee here exactly one week ago and my SNS nails are already chipped! I was wary when the technician only put two coats of powder on nails (my previous salons would put three coats on for darker colors) and exactly ONE WEEK later four of my nails are broken and/or chipped. I came for the first time today excited to get some red nails for my upcoming trip and was very disappointed in the customer service. After showing my nail tech a red color I wanted along with a photo of my nail inspo she continued to pull out a neon pink polish. I simply told her "if possible I think I was looking for more of a red rather than a pink". She continued to talk over me and was incredibly rude. I decided to take out my google translator and found out that her and another nail tech were talking bad about me right in front of my face. when she caught wind of the fact that I knew what they were saying she silently smiled at me and claimed they were talking about how pretty my nails were with the color. Have been going here for a couple of months. They always do an okay/ good job. Nothing special. However the last couple of times I have been getting weird stares/ looks from the workers there. One in particular who has brown short hair and glasses. I think she is the owner or manager there. I've left tips and EVERY single time I tip one of the ladies, she turns around and gives me an absolutely awful look. It happened today again, or all days on my birthday. I called and said three of us for nails and pedicures and He was like sure when you want to come noon which is like an hour away. It was a Saturday and I was expecting it to be crowded but when we got there they immediately sat us in our chairs after picking out her colors. He was really kind of insistent about us going to the wall to pick out the colors even when we said oh we want gel/or SNS. He still said go to the wall and pick your toenail color so apparently nobody gets in the pedicure chair without picking a color. The pedicure was excellent!!! I have very rough feet I've always hated them they are gnarly and big they get really cuticlely really bad all the time. I selected the spa pedicure (not the most expensive one) it included a clay mask, paraffin, exfoliating treatment andIt included a five minute massage (she actually used a timer.) At the end my feet were soft, looked great and 10 days later the pedicure is still holding up! all I did was add a coat of clear topcoat. Now SNS nails I usually get them done here in New Orleans and I've just come to expect that they're going to be a certain thickness: still thinner than acrylic but definitely not natural. now can I tell you that these look just like my nails with polish on! they are so thin and yet so strong I don't even know what to say. Awful ! First off they did my daughters gel manicure all uneven. They rushed because they had people waiting. Than they did my gel pedicure in ten minutes!!! When I asked why they didn't even put lotion she handed me the bottle and said here of you want you can put lotion in. I have been doing manicures and pedicures for over 30 years and never ever has someone told me to put lotion on myself. In fact I always look forward to the foot massage and pay for more time as it is my relaxing splurge. Than to boot the total was 131. I handed her my credit card. I went there to have my acrylics removed and a manicure. Half way through I was handed off to someone else. The owner received a verbal complaint from a customer about how long it was taking to get their nails done (2 people) and he starts arguing back and raising his voice. I won't go back based on this alone. He doesn't know how to run a business obviously. When someone has a complaint you just apologize for the inconvenience and ask what you can do to make it right. Got my nails done here for the first time today (regular pedicure and tips with SNS) and they look great! Prices are very reasonable for the area. Place was clean and everyone was friendly. Yuki really took her time on my nails and listened to my requests. We'll see how they hold up in the upcoming days/weeks but think I might've found a gem! The Powder Manicure does not last as long as it should. I'm guessing this is how they do it... I've tried them out 2 times, and the staff is very nice, but I'm just not impressed with the quality. I got powder polish out of the area before and the polish lasted for a minimum of three weeks with no chips just growth at the nail bed. Twice I got a powder manicure at Happy Choice and both times the polish chipped on multiple nails at the two week mark. I just had an entire nail color pop off! If I wanted a two week manicure I would have done gel and saved some money... I'm now on a work trip with horrible looking nails, and I need to scramble to find a fix. Sadly not going back to Happy Choice. Still giving two stars because their staff is truly great, but the SNS is not! read more

I had an appointment and it took them 20 minutes to have someone start on me. I asked for gel tip extensions and I constantly had to correct the manicurist because they were crooked and uneven. She attempted to do ombré which turned out NOTHING like the photo (even though they assured me they could do it) so I asked them to just do a solid color instead. The whole process took over 2 hours. No one was apologetic at all and the nails came out uneven and just really awful. I was charged full price. I will NEVER come back here. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure and it was an awful experience. My pedicure was rushed and the girl didn't scrub my feet at all. My manicure looks like a child did it. The color is patchy and when I asked for it to be redone she painted over two of the nails, that were very noticeable, and said the rest were fine. I have a wedding this weekend and have no time to go get them redone. I'm highly disappointed and upset that I wasted money on this. First time I came to this salon and got my first gel manicure. The price is $25 for a gel which is a steal around here. The salon is very clean and the staff were welcoming. I had Phoebe, she did a great job and was very attentive. She had asked me if the shape was okay after each hand she filed. I asked for a design (chevron stripes) and asked me if I liked it and sadly I did not, she tried a second time and I was still unhappy w/ the design. She was very understanding and patient w/ me. So, I settled for simple stripes and afterwards my nails look beautiful! I do wish they get more of a gel color selection... And my only gripe is I didn't get a lil shoulder massage. I was looking fwd to that after the reviews I've read :/ Update: Gel mani didn't hold up well after a week. The polish started to crack on some nails yet, the paint still adhered. But, since I have OCD it bothered me and I removed most of it. Went back here to try their mani & pedi special for $25. I also told the owner about my disappointing gel mani, he didn't charge me for the rest of the removal of the leftover gel mani. The pedi was very nice and relaxing. Pedi was great she used a scrub on my feet and legs as well as a hot stone to massage them as well. I like that they also put in a plastic bag in the tub so you don't have anyone else's feet germs. The mani, they offered me a free paraffin treatment (dk if they do this regularly or were making up for the gel mani) and I got a great free 10min massage during my mani. That was to die for!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. The MOST expensive gel mani/pedi I ever gotten! 65$ what a waste. For starters, I arrive at 4:15 well before there about to close. I pick out my color and immediately sit down to start my pedicure. 30$ for a callus remove pedicure. It was okay, she seemed like she was scared to do a pedicure though. Very weak!!! I glance at the clock it's 5:15 and I already can tell it's being rushed because workers have started to clean/ mop the floor and they close at 6. It's probably at least 4-5 people still getting there nails done. Continuing on, I can still feel him rushing my nails so he can get out the door. When my nails where dry it was way passed 6:15 and they were all ready to go. I was the last one at this point. This is the icing on the cake!! Before leaving I told them "MY TOES ARE NOT DRY." I can literally see how glossy they still are which is so weird because it's been and hour since the pedicure. The lady rushes to get two sandwich baggies.. yes SANDWICH BAGGIES! And places each foot into a bag. She insist on tell me "honey it's okay.. they dry real fast on your way home."
