Not only was the guy rude on the phone but offered no way of ensuring me I'd get my shirt back or be compensated for the shirt. They could've stolen it, given it to another customer or are just so insanely unorganized they lost it. Regardless stay far away unless you want your clothes lost. Have been getting my dry cleaning and tailoring done at this Happy Cleaners location since moving to the neighborhood several years ago. They always do an excellent job -- and on multiple occasions I've brought in stained items as hail mary, thinking I'd probably end up needing to get rid of the item, only to be pleasantly surprised to find a good-as-new item when I come to pick up my dry cleaning! I'D WALK AN EXTRA 5 MILES THAN GO HERE. They were good until they stained 2 shirts of mine....white ones with a noticeable black stain. Instead of owning up to their mistake they said the stain isn't bad and I should just deal with it. They will not do the right thing by giving you a refund let alone an apology. Okay, sure, there have been some mishaps over the year we have been taking our clothes here. Once our clothes were returned to us still wet. Once we were called and informed our laundry was both "lost" and "ruined". What? (The ruined part turned out to be our fault, not theirs.) However, I still love them. It's true that Amy somehow knows everyone, even if she's only met you once. I'm really surprised to see all those good reviews. Maybe they have better service for drop-off than for pick-up/delivery. The lady on the phone is always grumpy and bitchy, the pick-up/delivery (elderly) men are frequently late, anywhere between 15min-45min. If you're at home all day, this might be ok, but if you have a life, and a job, and have to leave at an specific time, forget it. You'll be late. Then, you call the lady to double check they're coming: "He left an hour ago.""Yes, but maybe could you call him and see if he's gonna be here soon? I really have to leave" "He's coming". Then, she's going to hung up on you. And... deal with it. Oh, another problem we've had is that the guys don't speak English... so, there's ZERO communication with them. read more

Full of shit. I needed my laundry done by this evening, a Saturday. So I called these guys at 6 yesterday -- they said ok. I dropped off laundry yesterday right before they closed, and again, asked if today evening was possible. "Yes." And delivery? "Yes, sure, around 5, we'll call." I get the receipt, and it says "Monday". I ask about it. "No, tomorrow, don't worry!" Today-- nothing. I called and they said the guy was out delivering. I got nothing. I'm not sure how this chain works or how the other chains rate with dry cleaning... but what I can say is that I've tried several cleaners who pick up/ drop off, and Happy comes out on top! They are always prompt to pick up (I call this branch directly) and drop off after a few days. Dry cleaning is pretty good, and my SO's shirts are neatly pressed and ironed. One day, I strolled in to schedule a pick up instead, and I met the famed Amy. She is as nice as the Yelpers say! She now always asks how I'm doing when my SO calls in an order. How sweet! Prices are decent, not a bargain but certainly on par with the similar cleaners. Next time, I'll try their alterations skills. read more

I have nothing but rave reviews for this spot! Everytime I go in, I am always greeted with a huge smile. After the very first time I visited here, the lovely woman behind the counter remembered my name and always greets me like we're old friends. Service is great... If you get in before 9 am, you can have same day service on wash and fold as well as dry cleaning, for a little extra. Place is cash only at the moment, but she did mention to me that they may be able to take credit cards soon. I have been a customer for almost five years and am tremendously pleased with the level of care and quality that I received. I have gotten over twenty-five pairs of pants tapered and hemmed, along with over ten suit jackets/blazers tailored. Donald, the Tailor, is the most genuine, wholesome guy in the business and I often spend half an hour just talking to him. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and happy to share his experiences and insights with you, if you ask. I like to understand the "how" and the "why" of tailoring, and Donald does an excellent job discussing his approach to tailoring/altering an article of clothing. However, my favorite thing about Donald is his integrity. He will kindly refuse your business if you are requesting something that cannot be altered. For that reason I have full-confidence entrusting very expensive clothing with him. Even though I do not live in the neighborhood anymore, I always go out of my way to use Donald because relationships like this one are rare and I have no desire to take my business anywhere else. read more

The manager always has a smile on her face while radiating such positive energy. I want to go here just to pick up some of this via osmosis. And such a reasonable price. They do a great job with men's clothes. **I have not tested out there cashmere or other sensitive fabric cleaning abilities. Dress shirts, wool slacks, and a wool sweater all came back very well cleaned and pressed. If you have a specific stain, show it to them and they will note the spot for extra attention. Again, thanks to the Yelpers, I went with Happy Cleaners, also because it was easily accessible from the B65 bus. I opted for the wash and fold service. My only disappointment is that my clothes didn't have that "April Fresh" smell that I'm used too... I guess they used laundry detergent because my clothes didn't smell dirty...well, they just didn't smell like anything for that matter. Things that make you go hmm.. Anyrate, the clothes were nicely folded, and the lady at the counter is very friendly, and they take credit cards! ($10 minimum FYI) I may give them another whirl next week. read more

Please note, this review is based solely on customer service, not the cleanliness of laundry. Happy Cleaners erroneously retrieved my laundry from my doorman building. The driver insisted that my laundry (which was intended for another laundry delivery service) was the one he was supposed to pick up. My laundry was labeled with my name on it, and the delivery he was supposed to pick up was drastically different than mine - he was supposed to pick up a few items of dry cleaning - I had 70 pounds of laundry. I'm not sure how they could make that mistake, but it happened. As if it wasn't annoying enough that I had to call them to get my laundry returned to me, the employee I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude. She kept blaming my doorman and told me that they would bring my laundry back the next day. That's right, they erroneously took my clothing and then told me I had to wait 24 hours to get my dirty clothes back. I obviously was not pleased, and they finally agreed to get my laundry back to me by 6pm that day. They did, which I appreciate, but here's the kicker - the driver pocketed the tip that was intended for my laundry service. When they returned my laundry, they claimed it was a different driver (which I don't understand since the lady at the laundromat kept insisting the driver would not return to the laundromat before returning my laundry) and did not return the tip. With that said, perhaps they do a great job of cleaning clothes. But I wouldn't trust them to follow simple directions, and their complete lack of ownership of their mistakes is quite frankly appalling. read more

This is the best drop off laundry place I've found. The woman who runs it is so friendly and sweet, my clothes are always perfectly folded and cleaned, and it's reasonably priced. A big bag of clothes usually runs me about $11-14 for same day (more than $10 and they accept cards) and I end up going once every two weeks. Frankly it's almost what I would end up spending at the laundromat to do it myself, but I'm really bad at laundry and Happy Cleaners is great. Plus you cannot put a price on the 2+ hours it saves you. They do all kinds of other stuff too that I haven't needed yet -- dry cleaning, alterations, stain removal, etc. The one complaint I have is that their hours aren't great. They open at 8am -- which is fine-- but they are usually closed by like 6:45pm, and generally closed on weekends, so sometimes my "same day" laundry ends up sitting there until the next morning. A small price to pay for the reassurance that your gross clothes are in safe hands. Highly recommended! read more

Should've listened to the other reviews. I thought chances were low my clothes would get damaged like other reviewers. They ruined 2 pairs of black pants with wash and fold pick up/drop off service the second and final time I used the service. I only noticed one was damaged right away after drop off and called to explain. They instructed me to drop pants off at 5th ave store so main warehouse could pick up from there and manager assess. I had to call several times over 2 months just to get in touch with the manager who I finally reached and told me they take no responsibility over damages. I guess I wasn't expecting they would fully replace my clothes, though I would've expected credit for my next visit (not that I would use it even), an apology, or at the very least, acknowledgement that they are ruined. And someone probably could've told me my first call that they accept no responsibility and not to waste my time. Highly advise you to use another service or send clothes that you're ready to toss anyway. Otherwise, it's not worth the damage that will be done. read more
