Yikes! I must have come on a off day or something but I was super excited for a fresh donut and decided on this place based on yelp reviews. I got a mini buttermilk bar and my dad got a glazed. It was very obvious that these were no where near fresh. In fact, they were borderline stale. I do like the fact that they offered a mini buttermilk bar though! Awesome tasting donuts - certain ones they'll ask custard or jelly filling if you ask. Their ham/egg/cheese croissants are also really good. Super flaky croissant and egg and cheese and bacon are all great tasting. The donuts are nicely made - fluffy and not over/under-cooked. Sometimes you get lucky and they're freshly cooked and nice and warm. Plus the coffee tastes good there and you have a few options for roast type. Donuts are deliciously airy here, so it's easy to inhale a half dozen in a single sitting. However, I've had better and more savory sandwiches elsewhere. I ordered a few turkey (and sausage), egg and cheese croissant sandwiches for a meeting and the common response from our guests was that the sparse turkey slices and eggs were unbalanced portions to the large and bready croissant. We couldn't justify paying $5 ea for something worth half its price. It didnt taste terrible and not a huge deal breaker but I wouldn't recommend this particular location if I had another large sandwich order; only for quick one stop shop runs. read more

For some reason, I've been on a donut kick. First, I went to this place that rhymes with funny donuts and what a joke. This guy was so rude. So, I looked at my yelp app that guided me to Happy Donuts and I'm glad that it did. It's cash only but they were so nice. Also, I only ordered 8 donuts (it was close to closing time and they were almost out) and when I went out to my car to grab some change to pay, the people who work there must have loaded up my box because it was full of donuts and donut holes which was a nice surprise. I hope the people in that neighborhood continue to support this donut shop. I didn't give 5 stars because it's only donuts. But, the price was right and the people are nice too! read more

Came here with my daughter to get some donuts for breakfast. The lady behind the counter was SUPER patient and sweet with my indecisive three year old. She also recommended to me a new donut and was spot on with her recommendation! I tried the maple glazed custard filled donut and she even filled it in front of me (too many donut shops had them pre-filled and they get soggy and gross)!!! My daughter and I decided to eat our donuts here, and in the time I've been sitting here, about 9 customers have come in, and she has shown the same quality of customer service to all of them! Definitely impressed with how kind she is towards her customers, it shows the level of pride she has for her donut shop. Super friendly service, great donuts, very affordable prices, what more can I ask for? The apple fritter here is a must have. I usually don't have a sweet tooth, but the apple fritter hits the spot right between too sweet and dough, and I've been hooked ever since. The workers will even recognize you! I don't even have to say anything unless I'm getting something different, otherwise the worker will just pack an apple fritter and I'm ready to go. Do come early though, as the apple fritters do run out fast. And that they don't open on Mondays. It is cash only, but their prices are very, very affordable. I rarely, rarely eat donuts for breakfast. I buy donuts at Happy Donuts when I feel the urge to. 98% of the time I eat the glaze donuts. Their glaze is just right. It's worth the extra $.20 compared to Safeway donuts. If you buy at Happy Donuts many times, the workers remember you and become more friendly to you. Regardless, they treat every customer the same way. It's just the workers greet you and ask how your morning is going. The workers greet some customers by name during the times I went. There are about four or five tables and chairs to sit and IIRC there is a table along the wall. Very clean atmosphere and you can see their donut equipment. I like open places where you see the cooking and baking equipment. Come to Happy Donuts in any mood and leave happy or happier =) Happy Donuts also serve muffins and croissants. read more

I've been to this donut shop a few times before so I'm surprised I haven't written a review on them yet. I really wanted a custard Maple bar so I went here around 2PM hoping that they'd be able to fulfill my craving and have some bars left. The last time I came here, they ran out of them and it was around noontime on a weekend when I went. It must've been my lucky day because I got the last maple bar and they filled it on the spot with cold and creamy custard. The owner was there and we had mentioned that we don't carry cash often so we rummaged up enough spare change to get donuts from there; they only accept cash. I was in utter shock when she said that we could get donuts from there and pay her next time if we didn't have enough cash on hand. I absolutely love doughnuts and I constantly try every place I see. These doughnuts are hands down the best I've had. Stan's are very popular but their glaze stays wet and their doughnuts are greasy. You can only eat krispy creme warm and if they get even cold they are awful sugar sticks. Angie's doughnuts are perfect and keep well over night unlike the majority of other places I visit. Angie is also always sneaking in extras and is surprisingly generous. She knows my name and always asks about my wife. Her warmth and kindness are just as great as her doughnuts.
