My friends and I walked passed this store recently. As animal lovers and pet owner, we could not resist to stop by to see what we can spoil our friend's dog. The merchandise was pretty pricey but I guess its reasonable for a local store. They have varieties of treats and pet supplies. We are soon-to-be parents of a new little four legged bundle of joy, and needed all the supplies that go with it. I had planned to go to a big box store, but stumbled upon this little place in HK. I don't know if the guy I met when I went in was the owner or not; regardless, he was so nice and welcoming and excited for our future puppy that I knew I had to give him my business. Their prices are competitive with the big box stores, but oh my! The personalized service is so much more! You really feel like a member of the family and they genuinely want you to get the right product for your pet. You can tell the owner (?) loves animals and truly enjoys his business. He even gave me a free toy and food bowl to give to the new little one. Five stars though somewhat reluctantly after reading about everybody else's perks. I've shopped at Happy Feet from the day they opened and my dog has never been given free chew sticks or other freebies and I'm a regular customer. Oh, well... Funny, I just left there, too, with my usual order of Solid Gold Millennia. The outside of the store is by no means "scary" as posted upthread--judge for yourself by the photo (that poster perhaps should get out and around NYC to see scary; no need to insult Happy Feet or Hell's Kitchen which is rapidly becoming ultra highrise central), and the inside is spacious, clean, and well-stocked. I've come across great people working in the store, but recently spoke to an employee who claimed to be the owner who told me that he didn't want my business anymore because he couldn't find my address to deliver to! This is the most fluff-free pet shop I've been to. One room, and the walls are packed with pet paraphernalia. No square inch left behind. No, you can't buy a doghouse or kitty city, but Happy Feet has the stuff you need (e.g. food) and a surprising selection of treats for a spoiled pet (e.g. catnip cactus). The cash discount was a nice little surprise. My only gripe is that the cat section should be bigger than the dog section - but I'm a "cat guy," so maybe take that with a grain of salt. The owner of this store is a horrible business owner. My 1 year old puppy ran into the store today and peed inside the store. The owner got real upset and began yelling to clean it up and to watch my dog. Mind you, this is what dogs do and accidents do happen. Not to mention it's a pet store for crying out loud. Never will Support these ass*oles again! There are ways of getting your point across and yelling at your customers and your pet isn't one of them. read more

The best pet store in the area! I always bring my pups and they give me a little sample of treats to try :) always super helpful too. They also do free delivery which I've never used because they're so close to me but I love that they offer it. The outside looks a little scary (because it is located in Hell's Kitchen) but I kid you not, this little store has everything you need. From Hollistic food and raw meat to cute beds and clothes, it had everything I was looking for. Wished I found this place a little earlier so that I could've gotten all my shopping done in one store. The owner also gave us free chew sticks which my dogs loved. The service is awesome, the store is very well organized, and they order supplies for you if you cannot find what you are looking for. When I was looking for a place to get foodie food for my four-legged sidekick, I did a search for his very particular kind of food and this place came up. After looking on Yelp, I saw it had a pretty good reputation. Being that it was 2 long blocks away from my office (it's on 10th avenue, which may be a bit west for some people), I went and found my fancy dog's fancy food for a very reasonable price. The best price I'd found in New York, actually (and I had *looked*). I have now been a devoted fan of Happy Feet for at least a year and I must say that their customer service and value goes above and beyond. Not only is his food much cheaper here than at other stores in the 'hood, their commitment to customer satisfaction goes further. I once walked in and they did not have the particular food I was looking for in stock. I waited 15 minutes while the owner had it brought over from the east side, and it arrived. Once it did, he told me that he could not sell me the new bag because it's expiry date was passed. Who is that honest?! I would have never looked. He steered me to a locally produced food that was, in fact, better than what I was feeding my dog, let alone cheaper. Little Foot is happy and so am I. I will always be a devoted fan of this shop. Love this pet store. Great selection for a smaller space, and the staff has awesome recommendations. Besides my usual cat litter, food and treats, I bought a cat brush as well as a sponge-type thing to pick up cat hair (both on staff recommendations) and have been really happy with both. The prices aren't bad at all, their hills science diet prescription food is way less than I've found it anywhere else in the area. Add in the free, fast (usually 15-20 mins) delivery, and I'm sold. I've shopped here a few times, but what finally prompted me to write a review is that I just ordered some cat food and litter in the pouring rain (I felt terrible, but am leaving town first thing tomorrow morning) and the guy just made a joke about the weather and said they'd be right over! I was going to throw in the towel and just pay the shipping prices to buy cat food online since I hadn't been able to find grain free food in the area for a decent price. This place is great! I love it here! Small little pet shop filled with everything you need. The worker was so nice and made sure I had everything I needed. Also was super nice to my doggie, gave some free treats which at first she was apprehensive about but it's because it was too big for her. So he crumbled it up for her to enjoy, so that was sweet. a- ok, nothing special. went there on my lunch break to shop for my two new little puppies. Didn't have any little pet brushes, or karo syrup I wanted for my little puppy. I don't see what is so great about this place. prices were somewhat high as well.. I mean bought a little toy for 9.99- right after went to TJ Max and saw same toys for 4.99. they do have a lot of toys and I guess its good if you live in the neighborhood. but not sure what specialty thing this place has to offer. owners / associates didn't seem really that knowledgeable. work close by and I don't think I'd go back.. not when same toys I can get for cheaper. read more

This place has some great toys for little dogs, as well as a wide variety of shampoos, doggie toothpaste, treats, etc. I came in not looking for anything in particular but left with a couple of goodies for my pup. The service was pretty good and they were very kind to my dog and I. Two issues with this place: -Pricey! I usually get Stella and Chewy's patties from another store a few blocks down, and it comes to about 28$ for the bigger bags. Here it cost near 34$. The toys are also on the pricier side, as is the shampoo. -I asked if I could feed my dog Greenies yet and they said yes, to take the puppy sized ones and it would be fine. I purchased them, and later found out at home that they were not suited for puppies under 6 months or dogs under 5 pounds... My pup matches neither of those requirements, and he may never get that heavy. unfortunately I opened the bag so I doubt i can return it :( read more

Go to this store if you want unprofessional, rude service and you love to pay an arm and a leg for it. I stopped in to Happy Feet and presented a manufacturer's coupon for my items. The salesperson was very reluctant and took a long time reading the coupon out loud. A woman came to the counter in the middle of him looking at my coupon and he stopped to take her order, and he didn't even apologize. Then when he finally finished reading the coupon he gave me the third degree, asking me if I live nearby and why don't I go to my "regular" store. Trying to turn me away because I don't live in the neighborhood? That is bad business. I work nearby and would have loved a convenient place to shop. He then told me he had coupons from the manufacturer that he wasn't reimbursed for, which is not my problem and it wasn't appropriate or professional of him to say that to me. The man was incredibly rude, I would not expect that behavior from an angry teenager, let alone what appeared to be the store owner. I am never going back again. Also, the prices are exorbitant. A can of natural cat food which is $1.59 both on the manufacturer's website and at Petco, costs a whopping $1.99 at Happy Feet. It's robbery. read more

Horrible owner . I bought orjen dog food because it was recommended by the man that works at the store. My dog did not respond well to the dog food. I brought the food back and asked for replacement for for the same price . He gave me 12 dollar bag of dog food. I paid 22 dollars for the original food. Owner stated he would have to get his money back from the company first before refunding me the difference . Up until today he has never reimbursed me and he kept the dog food as well. The shop owner is a thief and is unprofessional . Don't bother shopping there. There several other dog stores in Hell Kitchen to buy dog supplies . read more
