Pkasters! So today was feeling a little Houston-sick so I decided to grab some Text-Amex ( American prepared Mexican food). Saw a spot filled with my bros. and sis. of Mexican/Hispanic/Latin decent so I assumed it was good without checking my Yelp community. I won't do that again. LOL. I went in and it had tables but it's not that kind of place so I went with the easy fish tacos for a quick grab and go. I'll end by saying, as far as this dish, Houston wins on Tex-Amex hands down.

I ordered the Cheese fries & Buffalo wings which was recommended by a few people I know personally. The wings were good and the cheese fries were delish. I wish I ate the fries a bit quickly once super hot but I will go back again to try it for a second time when it's super hot. I wish they served ranch as another dipping option for wings other than blue cheese (not a fan! Sorry to the blue cheese lovers)

    Shrimp tostada. Está delicioso!

I'm quite satisfied with my food from Happy Fresh. I've gotten the shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, wings & fries, fries with chili, shrimp nachos, and the shrimp and chicken quesadillas. Today I figured that I'd branch out and go for the shrimp tostada and let me tell y'all something --if y'all don't see me on the ten o'clock news then that would be a miracle! I murdered that damn tostada!!! It was soooooo good! I believe that what makes it stand out above other tostadas is the shell. It's not the typical hard shell corn tortilla. Happy Fresh makes a hard shell flour tortilla shell and it's light and crispy. I encourage you to squeeze the lemon juice over the salad. I also added quac to my order and it was superb!

The name sounds hokey. The establishment appears to be Chinese owned. It delivers through Seamlesss. I have never physically been to the location where the food is made. They could be doing all sorts of shady stuff. But I don't even care. Five stars. Why? I'll tell you why: Value....AND quality. $6 to $7 burritos with Chorizo or fragrant grilled chicken or shrimp or fish, with none of that BULL SHIT "add guacamole" or "add sour cream" or "add cheese" or "add beans and rice"...it's ALL THERE, as are heaps of fresh shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato cut into manageable slivers, and onions, all rolled into a package as big as a football and three times as heavy. The chili cheese fries are also probably something no one should eat after age 17, but are guaranteed to deliver that "I could just cry" feeling to any grown up out there. I haven't tried their combos yet, because frankly, the menu options are just overwhelming. There's always one thing in the trio that just doesn't go with the other, or that you don't want whatsoever. But again, it does not matter. To get a single-digit costing, king-portioned, all-inclusive burrito that tastes like stuff you can get just about anywhere up and down the whole West Coast BUT NOT HERE is no small discovery. It's easy, it's cheap, it's good, it's consistent, it's filling, it's comforting, it's fresh, and god damn, does it make me HAPPY. Case closed; Happy Fresh is the SPOT, mang.

A perfect place to stop in to grab some good Mexican food. Everything on the menu here is very reasonably priced. They have a ton of lunch special so everyone can find something they like. The lunch special run until 4pm which is really nice if you are like myself and often eat a late lunch. I stopped in here for a quick bite and ordered a chicken quesadilla and a steak quesadilla. With a bottle of water the total was $10. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't too dry and had a good moistness and flavor. I really like that thy don't skimp on portion size here. The quesadilla had a goo amount of chicken and cheese on it. To be honest I only needed to order one but was expecting a lot less then I received. I was very impressed with the taste if the steak quesadilla. Places like this have a tendency to overcook the steak or just use meat that is too fatty. This steak was very thin, moist, and flavorful I couldn't ask for much more. Each was served with a small side of salas which I threw on there for good measure. I you are looking for authentic Mexican this may not be the place for you as it seemed like it was owned and run by non Mexicans. However the foo was awesome so for me this is not a big deal at all as long as they can whip up some good food I'm in. Just be aware that they have a $10 minimum for credit cards. I will coming back for sure.

I ordered "Fried" shrimp... and this what I get !!! Shrimp filled with shit...

What is this?????? The question is unanswered, a mystery unsolved.... So I go in with a craving of shrimp, I order lunch Special L3 Shrimp w/ Fries, which was supposed to be fried shrimp, but looks like cocktail shrimps..... smh My 7 dollar plate was not what I paid for, Poopy shrimp that was not cleaned correctly, when cleaning shrimp you not only clean the vein but the poop is part of the cleaning process... Then when brought to their attention they say "well that all we have" Poor customer service ... They won't be getting my money again..... You been warned, Eat at your own risk, We don't know what else they partially clean and serve for us to get sick ..... #Facts #Poopyshrimps #TexMaxLies

This is NOT how you wrap a burrito, guys :/

I had a chicken burrito that was ok. This place is Chinese owned and operated. As if you couldn't tell by the train of adjectives in the title. Call me racist but I like my tex-mex to be made by Mexicans(or the hard-working hipsters of Dos Toros). Here you have all the same ingredients yet something seems wrong about it. For example, the shredded cheddar doesn't seem to have the ability to melt. Let's not get into the frijoles or guaca-paste. Chew your food carefully and remain alert. Something questionable is bound to enter your mouth during this meal. I had a bone pop out of the exclusively dark meat chicken burrito. Not that this doesn't happen at a more traditional taco stand. It's not a meal ruiner but you'd best be on the lookout. Their hot sauce is clever. I'll give them that. It's chunky and seems to be a blend of sweet and sour with the chunky pepper paste that you get with dumplings. It had some trouble making it out of the tip of the bottle. Another thing is that they didn't even attempt to wrap the tortilla in burrito fashion. Instead the just hand you a giant soft shell taco. With this sort of thing it is better not to try at all than to mangle it all up. So their humility is somewhat appreciated.

I really loved this place but I'm totally disappointed. I ordered online through delivery.com. I requested two sides of sour cream that I've never got. I called to let them know and she said that we didn't order it and to double check. Which I did. She kept on treating me like a liar. Anyway, really bad customer service..and miss, here is my order with two sides of sour cream. Keep the money.

Not the right name for one. Definitely calm and good food but there are definitely other places I'd prefer to go faded.

Everyone that works there is super attentive and for how busy they are they always make sure to check up on your table. Their tacos are extremely delicious, they don't hold back with make sure each taco is full of any kind of meat that you get! Full of flavor and just looking at them reminds you why they're the best. Some other notable things that you should get is the quesadillas and the nachos they have. I'll have to keep coming back to try other things. This neighborhood gem offers an industrialized minimalist form of decor with pops of color and art. Cozy but roomy, the bar area had mostly 2 seater tables and a few with high chairs. We recently went for a birthday brunch. Restaurant Week was still in effect but we decided to choose from the regular brunch menu. Place was low key and giving neighborhood vibes. The service was 10 STARS! Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. We were also checked on by a second staff member who I think may have been a manager but cannot be certain. We started with cocktails and they serve chips and salsa gratis. I had the Jalapeno and Hibiscus Margarita and my friend ordered the Pepper Margarita with Strawberry and Chipotle. Mine was a bit on the sweet side without a hint of tequila. My friend's drink definitely was the better of the two. Not overly sweet and definitely a flavor of tequila was present. We also ordered a guacamole. I must say it was quite small and barely served 2 people. I suggest if more than 2 guests are part of the experience, order more than one. For my entree, I requested a market salad and 2 veggie tacos with a side of birria consume. Salad was very fresh and I am sure was made to order as opposed to premade a week prior and waiting in a fridge to be served. My tacos were average but satisfying. The consume was a bit disappointing as it was more of a water/broth based and not of a typical gravy consistency. It was not exciting. My friend's entree was the highlight of the experience. She had the brisket quesadilla. Never have I seen a quesadilla with a crispy outside such as this. A culinary masterpiece indeed. She consumed it all and not one complaint afterward. Delish. We did receive a complimentary Churro plate for the birthday celebration. They were drizzled with caramel and berries. Served warm, they were a dream for the palate. I did use the bathroom which was a single stall. It was clean enough but not well lit. The biggest downfall of my experience was the temperature of the restaurant. I understand it is summer, however, there was no A/C and the inside was extremely hot. I sweated through my entire experience. Even the bathroom felt like 100 degrees. We did not complain but our waitress noticed and brough a fan out to circulate the air. They do have ceiling fans but honestly I did not feel them. The management/owner should consider more temperature control methods during the hotter months as it was quite uncomfortable. To sum it up, I thought this experience was mostly positive and would patronize it again.

Most of all, what I really appreciated with every bite is that I wanted more and that it was so unique compared to anything else that I had ever tried. You can tell when the chips served alongside the guacamole are so delicious and so unique that the rest of the meal is going to be incredible. I will say that it did seem slightly understaffed.
