Stumbled here by accident and I will say the food here is phenomenal! Probably the best Mexican food in the area. Ordered for delivery, had the fish, shrimp and Birria taco. Loved the fish and birria taco, my kids agreed. The shrimp was good, but I've had better elsewhere. As I said in previous reviews please have a nice welcoming experience, I did not see in this case since there was no host or manager at the door, waitress seemed to miss some experience, I liked the small bar they have, very cozy place, ambience was kind of boring, food taste good although they still need to work on their plating! Food has to come out more presentable please, fresh water delicious, I would like to see more improvements before I can recommend this place, thanks. I would like to see Elite members to please rate and review business the right way, and this goes for regular customers too, is so disappointing when you go to a restaurant and find out that they are not what you are expecting, it's important to review the right way so when people go to eat to this places they don't get surprised. I'm Mexican and from California, so i'm quite picky about mexican food... but trust me when I say this is pretty damn authentic! First of all, lovely service, beautiful backyard, there was a lady hand making tortillas, the food was DELICIOUS. Two of us shared the ensalada milear, yummy sweet and crunch, a gordita chorizo papa, and bistec a la mexicana it was perfect we went home with leftovers, i was kinda sad they only gave us 3 tortillas tho so we had to place another order (they come in 3s) I didn't try the horchata bc i'm picky about that too but will definitely come back and give it a shot. The one thing I truly enjoyed was the cozy backyard eating area. The decorations and decor are creative and inviting. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say about my experience. I ordered chicken enchiladas in a salsa verde, a buche (pork belly) tostada, and a mezcalita. As a lover of Mexican food, I can consistently say it was the worst prepared enchilada I've ever tasted. The same chicken used for nachos and other dishes was also used for the enchiladas. Just grilled chicken chunks, wrapped in a tortilla, topped with sauce and cheese. No love whatsoever was put into this dish. Knowing how to make them (from experience), I knew I was getting jilted. The Tostada had barely any pork belly on it, hidden by the brand and lettuce. Just all wrong. The drink was okay. To top that off, the service was lacking. A mezcalita and canned ginger ale weren't served until after the actual food was served. I really was looking forward to trying this place. I'm not sure I'd ever return, but I know I cannot recommend this business to anyone with confidence. read more

This would feel like another run of the mill tacos spot but the backyard takes the place up a notch. It's probably triple the size of the small interior, so when the weather's nice you can really spread out on one of their picnic benches and enjoy some classic Mexican food into the late hours (their kitchen is open until 11pm). I pretty much always order the same thing at various Mexican restaurants-- a shrimp taco, a fish taco, and rice and beans. There's was totally solid, especially paired with a Modelo. I was fashionably late to my meetup with friends so I barely got to taste the guac and chips, but...from the little I had I definitely enjoyed. Kept going back for the crumbs even after I received my entree. My entree was shrimp tacos, fairly nice. I was a bit basic so my friends food looked really appetizing. They got the quesadilla and tostados. The tostados was such a salivating dish, crunchy and savory. The quesadilla was BIG and filling. This is a great pregame place also cause the drinks were strong strong. Service was really sweet and fun, offering us more to drink. My only suggestion is to salt the rim not the entire the cup lol. We got a few sauces and a regular salsa for the table. I ordered the tacos as my entree. I got two steak tacos and a pork belly taco. I ordered cheese, sour cream, and guacamole with all of my tacos. The pork belly tacos were really good. They were juicy and cooked well. The steak, unfortunately, was overcooked and dry although it was good with the rest of the fillings in the tacos. The soft corn tortillas were thick, delicious, and filling. I was impressed overall with the available items on the menu and everything looked really good. I do plan on coming back here when I come to visit my sister in Brooklyn again. I was very happy overall, and all they would need to do is cook the steak for a little less time. read more

This hole in the wall/ takeout spot opens up into a beautiful hidden, Brooklyn backyard. Keep walking and you'll see oversized plants, mini yellow striped awnings, and three rows of tables enclosed by brick walls. It's not trying to be an IG photo-op spot, but feels comfortable & hidden with Latin music at a talk-able volume. Now onto the food/drinks- this time I ordered a steak quesadilla which didn't look how I expected at all. It was filled with meat and I actually had to take half to go, but it wasn't my favorite. I still gave 5 stars because the jugo Fresca tamarind flavor was off the charts. The drink was huge, refreshing and tart at the same time. I didn't even miss not having an alcoholic drink. My friend got the mint lemonade which was also humongous and perfect. More restaurants need natural juices! The guac was good as well. And even though they were busy they seated us quickly, checked on us frequently, brought out the food and drinks, and were relatively friendly but not overly chatty. Very good tasty food, service not that great. I understand that they are busy but nobody likes when they food come and it's cold cause it been sitting there waiting to be taken to your table. The Mexican waiters are very nice and humble but the South Americans wao they are in another lever of rudeness. I'm not discriminating or nothing but they seem bothered to be waiting on tables, to the point that the first waiter who took care of me gave the table to another and when I asked what happened to my waiter he said he was on break, to my surprise he was still waiting on other tables. Improve your help and deliver the food to the tables faster, no one likes cold tacos. I would've gave them 5 stars, if it wasn't for the service and the cold food. read more

Great ambiance with the open air garden. There is plenty of outdoor seating and somewhat less indoor seating. Outdoors everything was really nice except for the semi-loud Mexican Rap music. Service was very good overall though the waiter never came by to ask us how we are doing. The food was mostly very good. My friend had the regular chicken burrito 5 stars and I had the tinga chicken burrito 4 stars. Since they do not bring the complementry chips and salsa, we ordered it 3 stars. The two restrooms are decent though one needs to have its toilet seat fixed. read more
