Had the Pork Belly starter and the Crab Cake entree, both of which were excellent! On our table we also order the burger and turkey sandwich, both excellent as well. I was very seduced to try the steak special, but we were making steaks at home the next day so will have to come back to try it here. The server was very knowledgeable about the bar selections for beers and wine and also about the menu and specials. We got here early, at 5:30, to beat the 7pm crowd and already the parking was filling up. It was the week with the below zero temps, so even the short walk was brisk. I've stayed at the Andover Inn a couple of years ago, and the contemporary charm of NE is still there, and Samuel's is a very very amazingly good!

The foie gras is not something I would normally eat, but my boyfriend loves that stuff so we went with it. I enjoyed it more than he did. It was not a classic foie gras, it was smoother with a creamier texture and more buttery flavor. Eating it with the fig jam and "light as clouds" toast made it absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every minute and mouthful--would definitely seek this place out again even though I live an hour away! We enjoyed ourselves too much to take pictures!

It is in the middle of a 125-acre bird sanctuary on the campus of Phillips Academy. It is surrounded by a lovely open field and tall, old trees. The wedding was outside, and there was a distinct area for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The cabin had a bathroom of each type, a small kitchen, and a cute fireplace with an upright piano beside it. But I must admit that the draw here is to the surroundings, and not to the facilities within the cabin, since the bathrooms were unusable half the night due to low water pressure, and the sink was also clogged at one point. But this is definitely a spot where caterers can set up. The air smelled wonderful and fresh, and needless to say, I had a blast. This tucked-away, simple venue was the perfect spot for a low-key wedding.

Absolutely not correct, this space is so small, I'd say maybe 50-60 people comfortably. Trying to locate the hall was an issue due to poor signing on the street, the hall is in the back. For a place that quoted 120 people, their parking lot sucks. We had to double/triple park cars to make the space work since there were no lines for parking. Our guests did not have any space to dance and we booked the event for a baby shower. We went in the morning of at 10am to set up, none of the tables and chairs were out yet. They didn't have anything ready for us although saying that it would be ready the night before. The covers for the chairs and tables weren't even ironed. The bathroom smelt of toilet water, no refreshers. We had to ask several times for them to refill the toilet paper and put paper towels in the bathroom. No paper towels were ever put in the bathroom the entire night! Just poor service. Absolutely expensive and outrageous pricing for a function hall that came with close to nothing. She said we would have food tables, not true we had to bring our own. They didn't have a liquor license and did not serve any soft drinks even for the kids, we had to bring everything ourselves which added to our financial burden. Not to mention, we were unexpectedly charged an extra $250 for "security" who did nothing but open and close the door. Horrible experience, I would not book again nor refer to anyone. Expensive as hell with nothing to show for it. Only good thing was that we were able to provide our guests with our own food.

We have used the Party Fun twice now for Photobooth services about 1.5 years apart between events…read more The first event everything (2020) went great, there was communication prior to the event, I saw proofs, I got to look at the backdrops, it was great. This event, I had contacted them, signed the contract, and then there wasn't much communication after. I understand that its not necessary to be in touch until shortly before the event, but that didn't happen proactively on their end. I had to write to them asking to confirm everything, even asking them to confirm the Vendor meal we were going to provide, and they still did not respond. I asked for them to bring an album so that we could keep a copy of all the pictures in there so that it could serve as a guest book and people could sign it. Because of this, we didn't plan another type of "guest book" On the actual event- The person who came to set up was lovely, and was on time and did the best that he could, but it was obvious that someone either above him or before hand did not do their part. The event was for my in laws 50th Anniversary and it was very important to us hosting the party that everything went perfect, because it was almost uncertain if this party was going to happen due to my father in law's health. You can understand my disappointment when we went to get our photo taken and- -The photo came out in a strip instead of the postcard style (fine, I can let that pass) - The background of the photo strip was nothing I got to pick out, it was some pink background (ok fine, minor) - THE NAME on the strip was Mr. & Mrs - Not my inlaws last name!! The attendant had to cut every strip- so basically everyone was leaving with a photostrip but there is no name of the event, date of the event nothing on this strip. The attendant tried to call tech support but did not have much luck. I then asked the attendant if he had the album so that at least my in laws could go home with a memory of the event that night. The attendant told me he usually brings them but there were no notes in my event for him to do so, so he did not bring it, he did take my name and address and said they would mail it to me. I emailed the company post event on 8/22 still have not heard back, further more, no album has shown up yet. Shocker. I do think this company is well meaning, and this may have been a one time thing, but the mark of a company or vendor for me isn't just what they regularly do, but how they respond to adverse events like this- and clearly they have not done a good job, because they have not done Anything. PS we previously used Jackie for our 2020 event and he was wonderful, the attendant Ryan at our event this time was great as well! I just dont know what is happening on the backend.
