The mochiko chicken plate featured a crispy chicken cutlet served on a bed of rice, alongside a hefty scoop of mac salad (you can also choose crab potato salad as your side dish). Everything was drizzled with a sweet and slightly smoky aioli-type sauce. The meal was delicious and would pair excellently with a beer from one of the other eateries in the Lumberyard. In addition, the chef/owner was very friendly, and since we arrived early for our pick-up, we had the opportunity to watch him freshly prepare our food in the kiosk's tiny kitchen. I also tasted the sauce from the Char Siew Chicken, and it was also delicious. Both of these were a little on the salty side, which I thought was great. However, if you're sensitive to salt that could be an issue. The Crab Potato Salad was very good. The Macaroni Salad was a little more basic, but also very good. The staff was super great, and the food was just out of this world. While I appreciate that there are several other food venues in the Lumberyard (all of which I have tried) I won't be able to resist opting for Malō whenever I stop by.
