This place is decent, but not great. I will say that everything is abnormally salty where you can't even enjoy it. I thought it was just me, but every single person I had try, agreed with me that it was pure salt. My friends and I couldn't finish the bowls without needing a bunch of water from how salty it is. Excellent and satisfying meal. We went with familiar gyro meat dishes, and the lamb/beef had the flavors we look for. Pretty sure it was processed, judging by the texture, but that's the norm in most all Greek restos. And their prep is unique, because the meat is cut thick, and not shaved as we are used to. Tsatziki seemed fresh made, and had a nice tang. What we both wound up raving about was their lentil hummus, made with local Palouse lentils. In town for a professional training school for a week. Someone at the school raved about the food they had the night before. So we went in. The tap selection wasn't too big but they had some good local selections that I could enjoy. Sadly my buddy was hoping for a cocktail and there weren't any to be had. The dinner was fine. Nothing impressive nor anything really bad. I ordered the Loukinaka pita. Basically a greek hot dog. Nothing I would order again. But the Garlic Garlic app was very good. My buddy ordered the burger and enjoyed it. I just wasn't in the mood for burgers. Service was fine. We always come during spring break, so I can't tell if it's under staffed or just slow because of school being out. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good spot for lunch while we were in Pullman and we came upon this place on Yelp. The ratings and pics looked promising, so we gave it a try. When we went inside, we were greeted right away. Because of Covid, we decided to get takeout. We ended up ordering a gyro rice bowl and a Mad Greek Pizza, which the waitress had recommended. We really enjoyed both dishes, especially the pizza! The crust was crunchy and fluffy, the cheese was melted nicely, and who knew that gyro meat would taste so good on a pizza? The rice bowl was pretty good as well, but I wish they had more fresh veggies to balance with the meat. The gyro meat was very tasty, although not as flavorful as other places I've tried. The rice was very soft and yummy, and the texture was like little beans. The tzatziki sauce coating the entire dish made it taste fresh and healthy, and the herbs on top gave it a lovely flavor. read more

My experience here wasn't as I hope for finding a Greek place. The lady that seated my family wasn't the friendliest. She was very over being there. The decor was nice. I dont knownthe kitchen situation but it took almost 75 minutes to get our food. I was super stoked until I tasted my gyro. Everything except the meat was good. The meat was dry and overcooked. Mad Greek is a fairly solid addition to the downtown Moscow food scene. Their appetizers/mezze really shine, as well as the gyros. I miss when they had saganaki on the menu! I now start with a cup of avgolemono, which is so comforting on a cold Palouse day. I really like the falafel as well. However, never order dessert here. When I got my salad the server noticed I did not have silverware so instead of giving me silverware wrapped in a napkin she just handed me a fork. This was our third time visiting this restaurant. On all visits the food was always delicious and pleasant staff. Today, I tried the mega meat calzone. Our waitress, Meg, recommended it. Never thought a Mediterranean type place would have Italian pizzas and calzones. It was the most amazing I have EVER had (including New York!). Very disappointing & strange dining experience. The skordalia tasted like cold, instant mashed potatoes. No garlic flavour. Mildly stale pita. I was fortunate to observe another table struggling to eat their (essentially uncooked) french fries, and asked for them to be well-done. The fries we received were fortunately only mildly undercooked, but still sub-par for fries. The gyro consisted almost entirely of overcooked, salty, & otherwise bland meat. Really no sauce, pickles, tomatoes, or any of the other accessories you might find at better restaurants to accompany it. The falafel was equally as disappointing. Somehow, the best part of this meal was the somewhat dry rice accompanying the wrap. At least the lemon added to the hard lumps of rice something sorely lacking in the rest of the meal (flavour!). Wasn't able to get more than half a glass of water the entire meal. The waiter asked if we liked the food, to which we replied "ummm...". He said he would bring the chef out to talk to us. Honestly, there is nothing I could have said in terms of advice to make the food better, given how thoroughly it missed the mark. We quickly paid and left before this awkward conversation could come to fruition. Not a focus of this review and this does not affect Mad Greek's overall rating, but the establishment is quite open about having a particular political leaning. In my opinion, this is a bit off-putting to the dining experience, not to mention unnecessary in today's divided society. read more

I really enjoyed Mad Greek the first time we went. It has gone down in service and food quality each time since. I kept making excuses for them, but really how long can you keep doing that? Yesterday my husband took our daughter to get a gyro before a father daughter dance they were attending. My daughter loves gyros! They said their food came and everything was cold. When my husband brought it up to the server, the best she could do was comp a drink. Then last night at about midnight my daughter was sick. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. Stopped after our son graduated from WSU (Go Cougs). Ordered the Pork Belly special, Greek Rice Bowl and Gyro. Had never had pork belly before but our waiter Dimitri talked us into it and we were glad he did. It was wonderful and very tender. Daughter loved the Greek Bowl and her beau loved the Gyro. Washed it down with a beer. Only issue was we had to wait over 20 minutes for the Pork Belly meal after the rest of our party was almost done eating.
