Dr. Khanna has been our Doctor for two of my children since April of 2009. When we moved, most people would probably look for a doctor nearby, but I would rather travel 45 minutes to an hour to see her. I refuse to have any other doctor provide care for my children. She has always answered all my questions, and when I had questions about vaccines or medication, she gave me options and always explained everything thoroughly. I love and appreciate that she is also very honest. I want to recognize her staff, Ray, and her nurse, Kathy. They are always so friendly, and Katherine is always so good with my kids when she gives them a shot; they don't mind it. And what else can I say, they have always taken care of us very well. It is time for this woman to retire. Dr Khanna is the worst physician I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with, and the fact that I have subjected my daughter and husband to this woman's vitriolic "bedside manner" is one of the greatest regrets of my life. Dr Khanna is the rudest, meanest and cruelest person, let alone pediatrician, and she should be reported to a medical board for unprofessional conduct and poor service provided to patients. I gave birth at Verdugo Hills and was assigned Dr Khanna upon my daughter's birth. She insinuated that my husband and I were trying to kill our child due to her drop in weight post birth. The extreme mental toll her "care" took while in the hospital pushed me beyond the brink. That sort of behavior with postpartum mothers is borderline malpractice. I should have switched insurance post birth but I didn't have the bandwidth postpartum. I also wanted to give a pediatrician the benefit of the doubt - we all have bad days. It turns out, that's just who she is. We've received the same unacceptable behavior outside of the hospital. She refuses to spend more than 5 minutes with new parents, dismissed concerns and questions and only cares if your baby is eating formula or not. She is incredibly unwelcoming, unsupportive, and borderline inhuman. She does not answer questions and glossed over all of my concerns with robotic responses that do not address my individual child. She bullies parents into submission without allowing any sort of conversation about the child's health and treats people so unfairly. The gaslighting is unreal. At our 2 month visit she punted our baby's vaccinations to her staff and didn't bother to administer herself, which I've never experienced. She also had my husband administer an oral vaccination to our child. What is a doctor for if we're DIY-ing a shot? In an attempt to get a new pediatrician, it took two weeks to get a copy of my daughter's medical records. Btw - she is her own "on call doctor." She chastised me for daring to call the "on call doctor" after hours instead of immediately taking my daughter to an emergency room - is that not what an on call doctor is for? To help decide if a situation is emergent? It's so unprofessional and deters parents from seeking medical attention. How bad are the practice's finances if she is acting as her own on doctor? She is the worst "decision" I've ever made. She should be ashamed of herself for how she treats her patients - I know I am for letting her interact with my child. Dr Khanna is very good, she saw my kids for 15 years. She always addressed our concerns and was very patient

We love Dr. Khanna and all of her office staff, especially Ray! All three of our kids go to Dr. Khanna's office. They are extremely responsive and always go out of their way to make sure our kids get the best care. I have no idea how Dr. Khanna does it all, but she does! I hope we can stay with Dr. Khanna's office until all of our kids are 18. read more

Dr. Khanna really never showed an interest in making us or our son feel comfortable. She would rush through questionnaires as well as our own questions and be extremely short and rude, whether it was to parents, children or other doctors. She was absolutely incensed whenever our son was afraid or resistant to treatment, even though they were age-appropriate reactions. She also refuses to keep any digital records for no discernible reason other than the office doesn't want to deal with it. The people at this office specifically the man who works at the front desk Ray, gave me the run around for about a week after he was supposed to "call me the next morning" to schedule my son for a circumcision...all while wasting time just to tell me it was too late for Dr khanna to see my son because we went past her 2 week mark well literally the week before we would've been okay had he just made our appointment instead of saying this and that and he'll call me back. Dr Khanna took great care of my son from birth through his teens. She also supported me as a nervous new mother, dealing with postpartum ocd and a baby with jaundice and RSV at 6 weeks old. Dr Happy got us through some of the scariest times and provided A+ care all the way around. Her staff were terrific with my son and with me as well. read more

I have been with this doctor since my son was born in 2013. That being said I haven't had to interact with the doctor much fortunately since both my children have been healthy, however the once a year visits for their annual check ups I will say are less than pleasant. Dr. Khanna does not like being questioned or getting push back. I refused flu shots for both my children and delayed vaccines for both, and yes in some instances I refused some vaccines that were not required for school. Instead of telling me why she believes the children would benefit from getting these vaccines, she essentially throws a tantrum in what I can imagine is a bullying technique to scare the parents into agreeing. My son is now 10 yrs old and we will be changing pediatricians, at our last visit even my son noted her demeanor and said she should change her name from happy to mean lol. Kids don't lie read more

TLDR: Dont go to Dr. Khanna. Dr Adrian Castro at Descanso Pediatrics is a great doctor but he takes PPO only. For HMO, try the doctors at Adventist Health in La Canada. Dr Jessica Tsai was helpful, accommodating, and NORMAL. She caught the hip ultrasound issue. Dr Germaine Green-Martin seemed nice too. Only reason I am taking time to do this review is to make new parents aware - i initially liked dr khanna because she seemed thorough and knowledgable. But dont believe everything she says. She uses fear as a tactic to get exhausted, recovering moms to comply. First - my newborn was a little jaundiced, even though she was gaining weight. Baby was gaining weight although there was a slowdown the 2nd or 3rd day, but i was also just super tired and recovering from csection, so i wasnt paying close enough attention to baby nursing effectively. After i started helping baby pull more milk out by squeezing my boob while nursing, weight gain was fine. (Sidenote: The lactation consultant at glendale adventist was a superstar, highly recommend even seasoned breastfeeding moms to ask her to watch you nurse baby). My first daughter's pediatrician was a lot more relaxed and reassured me not to worry because it's common for asian babies and usually resolves on its own. But dr khanna kept wanting to take blood tests every day even though the bilirubin levels were dropping. I wonder if its because i was HMO and she gets more $ for it. It was just weird she was so insistent on it, which is the last thing you want right after giving birth - having someone wake you and your sleeping baby, and then make her scream and cry bc they have to prick her heel and squeeze enough drops of blood out to fill a vial. Dr Khanna told me it was very dangerous for baby, and to make sure to put her in DIRECT sunlight for 10-15min EVERY HOUR for the next two weeks bc indirect sunlight does nothing to help get rid of the bilirubin. I asked her to clarify bc that sounded excessive. She firmly said yes direct sunlight and if i didnt then baby would need to be hospitalized. Good thing i was just too tired to do it that often. I did put her outside in direct sunlight once but my husband was like wtf are u doing. My brother who is a doctor said that advice seems wrong and he wouldnt recommend putting anyone, esp a newborn, in direct sunlight for that long. 10mins under a hot sun can still cause a sunburn. After switching peds, our new dr said this was wrong and dangerous info. Secondly, my baby was born breech. The standard procedure is to order a hip ultrasound very soon after. But she never did. It wasnt until i switched doctors at 4mo that it was ordered, and the new dr was surprised dr khanna didnt order one, and it took super long to get thru the system so it actually wasnt performed until 5mo. The later it is performed the harder it is to correct if anything is wrong. Luckily she was fine. Thirdly, i had to remind her about vit D drops. And she was like oh yeah, u have to give her drops everyday. And then she warned me about how terrible it tastes and baby will gag and spit it up, so make sure to drop it into the side of her mouth and avoid the tongue. And also that it will stain black anything it touches. None of this was true but it did succeed to stress me out. This was my second baby but i thought maybe i just forgot about all these details bc i didnt remember vit d drops being difficult. I just find it strange that as a pediatrician, dr khanna didnt know very simple facts about taking care of a newborn. I highly do not recommend. Only reason im giving 2 stars not 1 star is because her office staff was very kind, esp the handsome tall gentleman (i forget his name) who always helped me with the door. read more

Best Doctor I have ever met. She is so amazing. I don't even know how she can work this way. I have know Doctor Happy for 7 years now and if I could give her an award I would. She has been the greatest Doctor for my kids. Doctor Happy calls me back asap on weekends Holidays and any time I needed her. She is so knowledgeable. She is kind and Happy. I love her. She has avoided me going to ER or urgent care on so many occasions. She always sees my kids without appt on same day for any issues I'm having. I can write a book on all the great things she has done for my kids. But I just want to say that I could not ask for a better Doctor. She is amazing. I have no information about her professional history but she straight forward ignores my kid every time we are there she has no approach and no way to treat kids. every time she just tells you what you are doing wrong never even gives you any compassion. she is rude. every visit we had i went home in tears. starting from the receptionist ending with her this place is Cold. please find yourself a kind, happy and caring pediatrician. she may seem okay at first but later she is just ignorant and gives 0 attention or care to your child which i assume is an essential part in being a pediatrician. i gave her one star but she deserves 0. read more

I wanted to put this in writing, since I am so sad and I know I probably won't be able to tell you face to face......Don't worry, I didn't kill the child......LOL I was faced with some really hard decisions this year in the medical insurance department, and I had to choose finances over luxury **sad face** As of January 1, 2019 we will be a Kaiser family. I wanted to reach out and tell you with my whole heart, I will miss you. I will miss your ability to tell me the truth, and understand that I am not the kind of parent that brings my kid to the Dr. without reason. I will miss your staff and how kind they are, especially when I was navigating through my 1st year of being a new mom. I will miss, you, so so much. I will miss how you ALWAYS made room for us to come see you, how you always ended every visit with Popsicle's or Pediasure......I will miss that I can say anything to you and YOU always new I wasn't serious. I am so sad to leave you, you are all Samantha has known for 10 years, I know we will be okay and I wish with every fiber of my being that we can come back when things die down (I don't see that happening for a while, given the current state of the white house.) I'm scratching my head as to why Khanna has 4 1/2 stars? This review is long overdue. Please find yourself another pediatrician. Khanna is not friendly, I felt rushed every time I was there with my child and there was an incident that did it for me to get rid of her as my child's pediatrician. My daughter clearly had a bad cold and I called the doctor's office telling them what her symptoms were. I was told Khanna wanted me to come in. So I had to ask my folks to meet me there with my child because I was told my child needed to come in and see the doctor and I work full time. I had to take time off from work. When we saw Khanna, I asked her if she could prescribe Tamiflu and she said no, that all pharmacies were out of stock (which I thought, ok, how does she know that). She briefly checked my child and said, just give her water and Tylenol. What? Really? You had me bring my child in knowing what her symptoms were to tell me again, oh yes, she has a cold. WOW, I was super annoyed and angry she would ask me to come in, not prescribe anything and tell me what I already knew. That was the last time we were there. I found another GREAT pediatrician, Dr. Alice Abrahamian in Glendale. She is super sweet, never rushes me, takes about an hour for a check up with my child because she is very thorough and documents every little concern I have. I was so angry at myself for not switching over to Dr. Abrahamian sooner! There is one positive thing I need to get out there. Dr. Khanna has been both of our kids pediatrician and we couldn't be happier with her and her staff. My kids (now 4.5 yrs and 7 month old) always love going to the doctor and my son loves to play doctor and pretend he is Dr Khanna. The level of care they bring is unprecedented and sooo soooo appreciated. She takes the time to thoroughly go over every concern and I love that she never beats around the bush. I like honest and direct answers, especially when it comes to my children's health and well being. Ever since my little princess was born 3 weeks ago, I saw dr Khanna at the pediatrician office twice. But before that, I was able to see her twice at the hospital right after labor pretty much the second she came out and the day after. What a wonderful doctor's office! We just had our son last week and and since he was early we hadn't decided upon a pediatrician for him. Thank goodness we found Dr. Khanna and her lovely staff. Amongst insurance chaos and first time parent nerves, we called Dr. Khanna's office and were instantly put at ease with the kindness of Ray Robinson answering our call and then to our HUGE surprise, Dr. Khanna picking up the phone and giving us her time and thoughts. We had our first appointment with her this morning and left feeling so good about the care our newborn received and will receive going forward (as well as the care we will receive). Long time ago, when I was having PPO, she was the doctor of my daughter. We blindly trusted her. One time my daughter came from preschool with high fever and doctor told it is seasonal and it will go by itself. We did several visits for this same issue. Every visit she will say, last week fever is gone and this is new one and it will also go. She dragged us for 45 days until my daughter got ear infection. Only this incident open my eyes that she make us for multiple visit for making money. That was our last visit to her and never again we visited her. read more

My daughter was sick with bronchitis last December around Christmas. Her pediatrician was not available. I was so worried. I called Dr Khanna's office and the took my daughter same day. Everyone in this office is super nice. The waiting room is open and spacious. There isn't a "sick room" or "well room" to separate the children, but it's conducive to keeping them separated. Dr. Khana was an angel sent to us during the past three days! Our son had his first viral infection and we couldn't ask for a better doctor to assist and guide us through one of the hardest times we have had since our son was born! Every time we called even at 3 am in the morning she called us back and gave us great medical advice and calmed us down! Dr. Khanna was the first pediatrician that visited my son a few hours old in the hospital and due to insurance reasons we had to part ways with Dr. Khanna. Well a year later I made a choice during open enrollment at work so we can find our way back to Dr. Khanna. I am sure glad I did because my son got sick soon after the new coverage started and it was 10pm at night i took him to urgent care and they did nothing for us. They were not equipped to see children, so they sent us home and told us to call the pediatrician in the morning. So we did and the receptionist (melissa) was super friendly and understanding and got us in ASAP at 10am. I'm super happy we are back in Dr. Khanna's care! read more

I want to take a quick minute to belittle the people who gave negative reviews. Clearly, they were less interested in seeking medical treatment and care for their child and really wanted someone to hold their hand and join them in their obsessive worrisome nature over their little one. Rather than be told point blank what to do to make things right. This is what happens when millennials have children. Please ignore their reviews. Dr. Khanna is the best pediatrician. She cares deeply for the health of your child. She doesn't care so much for your googled medical degree or book on well being that your sister in law gave you (talking to you negative reviewers) so expect a brisk attitude if you try to bust that out. This review is way overdue but I have to say this is the best doctor for my child, Bella she the staff is very friendly. Dr. Khanna is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff. Every time I have contacted the office to take my child in for urgent matters not questions asked I would get a appointment to see the doctor which is a huge plus for me. I recently took in my child because underneath her eye seemed a little red to me and the doctor informed me that it was a virus and prescribed medication to take care it. The words I would use to describe Dr. Khanna are WILDLY UNPROFESSIONAL and JUDGMENTAL. If you are looking for a kind physician, willing to partner with you to make the best choices for your child and openly discuss or answer your questions/concerns, PLEASE do not pick her. If you are mainstream minded, willing to obey and agree with anything she suggests and have no problem being harshly judged, then by all means, this is the Dr for you. I love Dr. Khanna. She is very professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She respected the fact that I did not want to get all the vaccines at one time for my 2 month old daughter and was accommodating to an alternative vaccination schedule. She was one of a few doctors who actually went to Verdugo Hills Hospitals when my daughter was born. I met Dr. Khanna when my OBGYN recommended her to attend to us after the birth of my daughter. I was so pleased with her that I immediately switched both of our kids over to her. She is caring, knowledgable, funny and easy to work with. Turns out that she is my OB's kids' pediatrician, his nurses pediatrician, etc. so I guess you are not only getting my recommendation with this review, but theirs too! She listens in a way that lets you know that she HEARS you, she wants to know about your child, their growth and your insight and takes all this information into account. Dr. Khanna is really terrific - I have been taking my son to her since he was born 4 years ago. I only had one significant wait and that was because of a mix up at the desk (another family walked in when it was our turn). But they corrected that IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise the wait varies in part because she also works at the hospital next door. My son had more health issues early on (and even now) than other kids I know and every time I take him in to Dr. Khanna, I am reminded of why I like her so much. She is not reactionary but takes everything seriously. She also explains everything in detail so that you understand what is happening, why it is happening, and the options for moving forward. Nothing makes a parent feel more at ease than a doctor who GETS IT. And we have had to take our son to various hospitals in the middle of the night and who we get - even at the children's hospital, varies widely. Other than hospitals, I don't have a wide range of comparison for pediatricians. But Dr. Khanna has never given us a reason in any way to want to look elsewhere. I'll take the wait if means my son has a great doctor. I have never had an issue with the administrative staff (they are always pleasant and helpful) and I LOVE the nurses. read more
