I ordered at 12:17pm on June 9, 2024 8 regular waffles and my order was ready at 1:10pm. I order for 2 families . Both parents and we each have 2 kids . A total of 8 bubble waffles. And my group had to wait 50 minutes while at least 12 orders came after my order and they picked up their waffles and beverages and left before my order was completed. This is acceptable and normal practice to treat their customers poorly. The customer service is poor and the time management is horrible. And the best part is.... This is perfectly acceptable. Very good boba tea and consistent quality. I have been a patron for quite a few year now and my family has always enjoyed drinks from Happy Lemon. Their drinks are somewhat different from regular tea shops and do not emphasize on tea; rather they have milky drinks, yakult drinks, fruity drinks, and smoothies. If it's tea you like then you probably will prefer another place, still Happy Lemon offers customers other options and has been pretty successful in doing so. More like a 3.5 but I'll round up because I was really impressed with the manager's customer service. TLDR: There was a lot of confusion with the cashier but Nam, the manager, tried his best to correct the mistakes and get our order right. We still had one incorrect drink in the end but given all the frustration/confusion we kinda just wanted to get our order and get out. Considering it's their first day I think confusion is bound to happen esp with bulk orders, but I thought the kitchen staff were surprisingly fast and Nam did his best to make sure we were happy. He handled it really well. I also rly like the way they make their boba milk tea puff cream! It's rly good! ------------------------------------------------------------------ Today is grand opening so there's a bogo deal (2 per person). We thought we would make it easy and order almost all the drinks to be the same so that it would minimize any confusion. Four black lemon teas with no lemon skin/no toppings. Three green lemon teas no lemon skin/toppings and one cream puff with boba. The only modification to the drinks is not to add the lemon skin. This is what I usually order at happy lemon and I say the exact same thing everytime. The cashier did ask me to check but I could not click on the screen to see the entire order but admittedly, the text did look confusing to me, I decided to roll with it thinking my order was easy. The first time I was charged it was $28 and I was just waiting for my receipt. But then the screen loaded again and showed a $24 charge. I double checked with the cashier, but she said I would be charged $24. But idky I even had 2 charges and the cashier didn't explain anything. I decided to check my bank now instead of later and I saw two charges. The other staff also seemed confused why the two charges were different amounts. Nam (manager) came out to help and said to not worry, when the cycle ends the first charge will not appear, he was very nice about it. However when we got our order, I was shocked to see almost all the drinks but one had modification errors (had lemon skin and toppings). & We were missing 2 drinks. Nam understood what we wanted and helped us fix it and asked us to reorder our missing drinks. & We had to do a bit back and forth again with the cashier because I didn't see the second/BOGO drink on the screen and then I saw a $12 charge for two drinks. But Nam made sure it was entered correctly and that my order was correct. In the end the lingering mistake was we had 3 black lemon teas with no lemon skin and the 4th should've been the same, but we ended up getting another green lemon tea. But we didn't want to push it, it's still BOGO after all. I think happy lemon is a great addition to San Ramon since I'm not a fan of boba guys. & I'm sure they just need time to work out kinks. I really appreciate that Nam was patient and explained the receipt/charges to us. read more

My partner was weary of of boba and avoided it because he thought it would be gross but he absolutely loved it. The only issue is they were out of green tea for the S1 and out of the Taro balls for the D6. We definitely want to experience the drinks exactly as they were created. Hubby like his Yukult smoothie, but even at 50% sweet thought it was too sweet. Daughter liked her Mango lemon slushy, but found it a bit in the sour side. I ordered the Grapefruit Yakult with lychee jelly and my brother ordered the Ube Milk Tea with Taro puff cream and boba. Both drinks were delicious and the service was excellent. I think the manager was training his staff when we stopped by (they said the store just opened 3 days ago!) - I could feel the excitement and positivity all around.
