My friend and I went in to have our nails done, and this was the worst experience I've ever had with nails. The woman who did my nails was extremely rude. She kept harassing me to get gels, and I had to tell her every time that I just wanted regular polish. Then when she filed my nails it felt like she was shredding off my finger tips. She finished removing my nail polish and then said that I had to pay before she would paint my nails! I've NEVER been asked to pay and leave a tip before a service has been rendered. I kept asking her if she was going to finish my nails, and she kept saying that I had to pay her first. So I paid first and my nails look horrible. (See pictures) I paid almost $30 for nails that I could have done better if I had painted them myself. My friend was not happy with her nails either. We both won't be going back. read more

Well.... My wife is 20 weeks pregnant and her mother flew in to visit, so I thought it would be nice for them to relax and enjoy a pedicure. The location is convenient and parking is not a problem at all. They also have walk in availability but I think I know why... Once my wife walked in, the manager began staring at her and shaking her head in disappointment and disgust. As a mother will do, her mom approached and calmly asked why she was doing that. This manager was obviously upset because she was caught, so began screaming at my mother in law. My pregnant wife approached and calmly said "there's no reason to scream". She then started screaming at my wife. We weren't to sure what was being said, as she was speaking another language. The manager then threatened to call the police so leaving was the best choice. Be careful if you enter this business. I would recommend another option than this location. read more

Just got my nails done here this week! The staff is so friendly and kind! I'm so grateful to have met them and to have 0 wait time! The prices are fair. The Gel manicure is $25, regular pedicure is $25, eye brow waxing is $10 and underarm waxing is $20. They still have the massage chairs during the pedicure- which I definitely needed! Everyone is so stressed out from this pandemic that it was so nice to have a spa day! They also put dividers in between customers because of COVID and it's very clean! I am very happy with the service and how my nails came out! I was able to feel like a pretty woman for the upcoming wedding! I hate to say it because my nail guy was so nice, but I just spent $76 plus tip for shellac on my toes and fingers and then had to spend an hour at home removing it. Polish was sloppy and nails shaped weird for some of my toes. Not only did I lose all that money and time, my nails are now a disaster from the soaking and filing. Very rude, do not talk to there customers. I was 3 other people. , none of them talked to us. One nail tech cut my sister on her big toe nail, and said oh you cut me. she ignored her , then my sister said it again , the girl then pulled out a cotton ball with acetone on it and put it over the big toe. She My sister told her it was hurting , again she ignored her. So i had to loudly tell the lady she was hurting her!! She is cut! no sorry was said as blood was dripping down my sisters toe. My family and I was staying in the area over 4th of July weekend. We scheduled 2 appointments at 6 o'clock. One of my daughters did not get seen until after 630 and my second daughter waited patiently until 7:15. While waiting another lady came in and asked if they could do a walk in for a mani and pedi. They actually took her and left my daughter waiting. I am guessing they figured if they said they would have to wait than that customer probably would have just left. I had been to two other nail salons in the Saco area before I came to Happy Nails & Spa. I was very disappointed with those experiences. So happy I found them,.. OMG!! Love Love this nail salon and everything about it! The first thing I noticed was the elegant like decor of the nail salon, very lovely inside, looks up scale. There's a stunningly gorgeous sparkly chandelier right over the main space and rainbow fountains they have for sinks, soooo lovely!! The two ladies I met who work there, May and Cindy were super nice and very friendly! Cindy was my nail tech and I loved her right away, shes got a great sense of humor, and made me feel comfortable like we were old friends right off the bat. She is very talented at what she does!! Very detail oriented and a perfectionist at nails! This was my first time here and It's now my Go To Nail salon. Im so psyched about how beautiful my nails came out! Highly recommend!! Oh an advice.. My nail tech was friendly enough, but she was very difficult to understand. I got a gel manicure and it was very sloppy. I wear my nails short and square. She didn't wipe up the skin around my nails after applying the base coat so now I have lumpy messy gel around my nails in Big Apple Red no less. Very frustrating. For those of you who have not been here in a while, It has moved down in the Hannaford Plaza, closer to the pizza place. It was my first time here, and I was floored. Totally pristine, clean and shining everywhere, and sanitation guidelines for tools was in force.. I had Li for a pedicure. She has only been in Maine two years so much of our conversation was in "sign language" -worked just fine. Li was meticulous about her work in all aspects. Loved the hot leg wrap, the salt scrub and the hot stones. Wait until you try the new toe dry station!!! And for the comment about chipped nails after two days, forget it. Mine is still perfect after a week!!! This will be a definite re-visit and I am going to encourage my man to go get the foot spa before summer gets here!! read more

I always give places a second chance because I understand that we all have bad days. But OMG - the first time I went here, I left walking out and thinking, What the hell just happened? Three people did my nails and there was only one other person in the salon. I felt rushed and like I was in the way. I thought it was an 'off' day for them so I decided to give them another chance today. Honestly, I hate giving crappy reviews, but I went in today because they had a manicure / pedicure special advertised outside on a sandwich board for 35.00 and they have Walk-Ins Welcome in a neon sign in the window. I walked in and they literally looked me up and down and asked what I wanted. I asked about a mani/ pedi and they spoke in there language in a yelling Manor and then a girl walked over to me while on her cell phone and said, "Come back!" that's it! So I asked, what do you mean? She snapped at me and said, "Come back 3:00!" Ummmm No! I'm not coming back! I have had it with rude people who have no regard for being polite. When I called to book my appointment I asked the price for a manicure pedicure combo. I was quoted a price. When I arrived I was handed a menu for pedicures. The one I was quoted was a very basic pedicure. The one I receive everywhere I go was considered a deluxe pedicure. It was an additional $10 charge. I did not appreciate this. I would have preferred to be told that on the phone. Tip in I paid $57 for a service I usually pay $35 plus tip. Although everything went well, don't care to do business this way. read more

Probably the weirdest/worst manicure experience I've ever had. Not from this area originally and fairly new to it as well and my gel tips that I had put on at a place back home over a year ago needed a fill from the last time I was home. So I figured I'd try this place because it had good reviews and was close. Not sure if it was a language barrier issue or just simply miscommunication but I made an appointment for a gel fill and they said no problem. I got there and was asked if these were my real nails to which I responded no they're gel tips. The woman proceeds to file off the old color with a nail file and then wraps my nails in acetone soaked cotton pads and foil, which could've taken my tips right off but luckily didn't. I left with just a plain gel manicure, no pink or white gel under to reinforce my nails and i'm not sure anyone there knew what a gel fill was. Definitely will not be returning read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit here. Normally I go to place in Portland but they did a better job on my shellac manicure here and for less money. The technician was very skilled and meticulous which I find is not always a given at many places. They took me without an appointment and were very gracious and sweet. Terrible experience all around. Don't get me wrong; if someone can speak a little of another language than their own they are ahead of me. But when you are in a job dealing with servicing the public you should know at least enough to understand the job. First she didn't understand I wanted to hang up my coat. I tried not to complain when she cut my toenails so short they hurt but that was a mistake because she cut one toenail so short she made it bleed. And then she didn't understand when I yelled "Stop, No, Wait" when she started filing where the nail was injured. Then, no matter what I said she thought I didn't want any toenails filed. When her co-worker & 3 customers tried to convince her to carry on, she filed the rest of my toenails one swipe each. The rest of the pedicure was agony. Then the manicure :(( I showed her which nail shape that I wanted that was diagrammed on the table. She says "Oval" and proceeds to shape them square. I was in constant pain from the pressure she used to hold my finger. Sometimes she was holding it with her nail digging into me. I should have walked out but stupidly I decided to wait it out. She hurt me quite a bit many times by putting the file so far down the side of my nail that she was filing the meat of my finger. She finally did it so hard & fast that she made one bleed. She tried to keep on filing even though I screeched & yanked my hand away. I had to tell her twice not to go back to file it some more and I had to practically shove my finger in her eye to get her to look at the bleeding- but no "Sorry", she just put some antibiotic on it and kept going. I couldn't wait to get out of there. For the first time in my (long) life I did not leave a tip. Maybe she thought back & realized making someone bleed twice was not a good idea. I actually would have told her why she wasn't getting a tip but she wouldn't have understood one word of it. read more
