I am totally retracting my 5 star review. I have been going here every month during sandal season for a year. I get the shellac mani-pedi. Yesterday I went to get a mani pedi before vacation and it was horrible. I was the only customer in the shop and yet the tech rushed through my pedicure with barely a massage. Zero callous removal and almost no lotion. My manicure was even worse. She got gel polish all over my cuticles that will probably pop off before we get off the plane. There were 3 or 4 others techs but they were more interested in talking to each other in a language I couldn't understand than making their single client feel comfortable. I should have trusted my instincts and walked out the door when my original request for French was met with worry. I decided on a solid dip color instead. I requested square shape with rounded edges and they were so sharp I had to return later in the day to have them reshaped. I also had to request hand lotion despite the people around me getting hand massages. I got a dab of lotion, no massage. Don't even get me started on the pedicure, I'll post a picture of my feet for reference. I requested callus eliminator and she said I didn't need it so I was given a crappy pedi that I could have done better at home. I showed the woman the bottom of my feet and she said she'd have to charge me $5 to scrub them again. I cannot believe I spent 2 hours there for a dip manicure and regular pedicure and had to go back to have them fixed. However, there were a lot of satisfied customers in there so maybe I had a nail tech who was having an off day. Also, it happened to me and the other person next to me: you ask them to match your color with regular polish for your pedicure and they choose OPI Infinite shine so they can up charge you. read more

Came ME to surprise my friends in South Portland. She mentioned wanting to get pedicures so I jumped on Yelp and found the Nail Co. Had such awesome reviews so I knew this was the place for us. Called and made us appointments...no problem! We decided to go to brunch so we called and were able to push out our appointments by a hour. We arrived right on time for our appointment. Place looks really nice, quiet, relaxing, and clean. Great selection of nail polishes. Water was nice and hot. Felt so good on a gloomy day. The pedicure felt so good. Even includes hot stones as part of their regular pedicures. My friend wanted to have her nails cleaned up as well and they were more than happy to do it. The staff here are so friendly and did such a great job!! We had such a great experience and will be sure to return when I come back to South Portland! read more

I had the spa pedicure. The salon was not busy so I thought that this would be relaxing. I was wrong. The service was 50.00. it was to include cold calf pads, warm leg wrap, stone massage and I opted out on the polish. My right foot was treated will all the brushing and Loofer but my left foot did not receive the same attention. The massage was only rubbing in the lotion and it did not cover the entire low leg. only1/2 way up the calf. there was no skill to relieve the pressure points. my legs were wrapped carelessly in a hand towel that didn't completely cover my leg so they hung down around my ankles cold while the technician ate lunch in the hallway out back. the hot stone was up the legs quickly and done. I will never return there. careless, rip off. read more

First time I went here was pleasant--friendly staff, hot stone massage (pedicure), good shellac manicure. Second time, however, was very disappointing. I got a shellac manicure and the nail technician (although she was very nice and sweet) really screwed it up. You have to be with very METICULOUS with shellac as once it's dried, the polish hardens. Since she painted it all over my cuticles and on my skin, it was very uncomfortable and looked HORRIBLE. I went back and got it fixed but the nail polish on one of my fingers still chipped off. They also charge extra $5 for shellac removal even when you make a shellac appointment--so total is actually $30, not $25. I've never gone to a salon that does that before. I know this job must be hard and I respect all in the service industry... but I've been here a few times now and they've always done just a "fine" job. But this last time was pretty bad. The technician took 10 minutes on my pregnant feet - a really rushed and bad pedicure. Such a let down. She didn't even massage my feet. I was so shocked I didn't even say anything.
