I'm booked an appointment this morning for an eyebrow wax. Two complaints one - Anna, who did my eyebrow wax got a phone call and she was talking on the phone throughout the whole procedure. Two-it's a good thing that I have tattooed eyebrows because she waxed off half the hair on each brow. I should've read the reviews before going there. Used to like this place for pedicures. Unfortunately today I went in and I was not happy with the conditions. The pedicure was alright however the whole place reeked cigarettes and it was overall not peaceful in there even though we were the only two customers in the store. The several employees were smoking outside with the doors open and they had a fan blowing the smell right in the store. They also had a dirty coffee cup on the station I sat at. I would not recommend going back there the last couple times I've gone it's just not been as pleasant. Again I used to love going here however I wouldn't bring anyone who is sensitive to smoke in! read more

We went for Mommy and Me Mani and Pedis. The staff was nice, but my tech kept walking away and didn't say anything. His time spent walking around, was time my daughter was getting pampered, which I love for her, but I didn't feel I got what I paid for. The Mani using regular Polish was not properly put on my fingernails so it was uneven, messy, and flaked off the same day. The top and bottom coat bottles looked old and chunky. Went Sunday afternoon, by dinner it was chipping, mind you I hasn't done anything. I won't be returning, wish this lesson didn't cost me $250. read more

Absolutely horrible place - I could do a better job at home. They rush, change technicians in the process of doing your nails - the end result is thick, sloppy, ugly nails that you just want taken off. Waste of money and they do not listen. I experienced nail service here twice including hands and feet. Products are good. Service appointments are timely including soaks, massage & manicure in a great chair. However Personal interaction is nonexistent. No conversations are exchanged with customer except product choice. Therapists speak between each other in foreign language. At appointment end, upon opening my wallet ......therapist reaches in withdrawing cash with her fingers including her tip... ($100 bill!!) PRETTY BOLD! Not sure I'll return. read more

The man who did my nails goes by Alex Pao. I originally asked for short square, black french-tip and I wanted gel-x nails because I heard a lot of good things about them. I used to get manis and pedis there all of the time and I really like their vibe which is why I wanted to go back. Alex was mostly friendly, but not very conversational which I really dont mind because I dont like random chit-chat, but he was very forceful with my hands and used the drill on my nails to the point where it burned me a couple of times and I bled. He worked very quickly and was often busy answering questions from the other workers and even had to get up and leave during my service to settle something. The work that was done on my nails was very messy and while I like them from afar, if I start looking closely, I notice so many imperfections, particularly areas where the faux nail is lifted from my actual nail. I'm also 90% certain he uses the same drill bits for every customer he has. I was curious why he didn't want me to look closely at my nails while he was doing them and he kept rushing me to put them back under the UV light. Now, I know why. And to top it all off, he gave me a white tip instead of the black that I asked for. The white tip is growing on me, though. It's cute and feminine, but I'm sure if he wasn't rushing so much he would have done a better job, wouldn't have cut me, would have made sure to give me what I actually asked for, and maybe the nails would have felt worth the $65! read more

I won't lie it has been a minute since I went but my experience is something I have yet to be able to get off my mind. My friend and I went to Happy Nails for my Birthday about a year ago. We both got ManiPedis. The women that did our pedicures were great. They were fun and we had a blast. The part where I had an issue. When I had gotten there I was planning to just get a plain manicure but was convinced to get a full set, midway through. I believe from my perspective that the only other person that was able to do a full set was the Grumpy old Man. Whom I'll call Grumps. My friends manicure was already being done by another wonderful lady. The man was not happy and he showed it. He was doing my nails and was slightly forceful not enough to complain about it. He made some digs about my dry skin (okay...), but what really got to me was the little grinder machine that spins to either smooth or shave down a nail he pressed down til it was burning. I was sure it was just an accident or him just not paying attention. But the more I thought about it. It makes sense that he did it on purpose. I have been getting my nails done since I was 14, I have had new people work on me and people who were just plain bad. They have never burned me by leaving the grinder thing in the same place on at the bottom of my nail where the cuticle is at. One or two things I could have let it go but Grumps there was mad and took it out on me. Possibly because he to had to work when he hadn't planned it. Was I having a great time with the ladies and my best friend? Yes. Was he possibly annoyed with me yes. I have been in the service industry for over a decade and know how to direct someone's attention or at least notice someone is trying to grab my attention. This man was annoyed and had that attitude when they feel they are getting screwed over but is doing it because he has to. But he let me know it. I rate the experience 3.5. Mainly because the women were so great. But his attitude and him burning my finger that I felt it for the day has stayed in the back of my mind since it happened. I didn't want to write the review because I had such a mixed experience but I want this out of my head. So that was my experience. Also best friends nails were amazing and my pedicure was great. read more

Came here for the first time down from Mt Shasta with my daughter and a couple of our friends. The man that did my pedicure was great. Ended up getting the basic manicure with gel polish that lady that did was good, however we had our appointments on Friday and by last night my gel polish was already chipping. Sucks that you pay so much money and they are look a mess and it hasn't even been 48 hours. I should have just said No manicure like I originally intended too. Terrible experience. 2nd time here. Didn't have any problems the first visit. Came for a pedicure and dip manicure. Told them one of my nails broke and it couldn't be cut because it was ripping in my nail bed. When they removed my previous dip I reminded them because I wanted them to be careful. The guy used the tool to take off the dip and ripped my nail even more. Hurt so bad. So then another girl took over and did the same thing!!! My finger is still throbbing. I would've been fine with this pain if they did a good job in the end but my nails look so bad now. it's already chipping and I left 1 minute ago. So pissed I went to this place again. Waste of my time and money. I was also charged an extra $5 because I had to soak my nails longer to remove the previous dip nails. They were rude and didn't even apologize for hurting me. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife, mother and sister-in-law. They wanted me to express that D & D Nails is THE ABSOLUTE BEST NAIL SPOT IN REDDING. My wife and I come to Redding often to visit my parents and while there, my wife, mom and sister-in-law love to get together and get there nails done. Ever since they found this spot, they haven't gone anywhere else. Lots of other places us low quality nail supplies and aren't very friendly. Here at D & D, everyone is so nice and they always feel like they're treated like royalty when there. They are very honest and good people. My wife even accidentally left her watch and they held on to the watch for almost a week. That shows some real class and honesty! They gained my wife's nail service for life. The quality of their nail supplies is great. They do a very thorough job and the nails look great for a long time. Overall they say this is the best place is Redding and don't go anywhere else!!! read more

This is why I don't recommend this nail salon: Today, I walked in and they were busy. The owner asked me to come back in thirty, which I did. This was the third time at this place and each time I've come my pedicure last no more than six min max and it's always with a gentleman named I believe Thomas. I always give them the benefit of the doubt... thinking .. maybe he was having a bad day or maybe they're just busy but that should NEVER be taken out on the customer, right? Anyways, my pedicure lasts no more than six minutes.. he finishes .. I tip him/pay and he tells me I'm good to go. I drove home and notice my nails were smudged.. I drove all the way back and when I asked him to fix he he's like "ok, I fix. Next time you get gel not regular polish." And then he starts to paint the polish on top of the smudged polish. I'm like wait, " can you please take the color off with acetone?" His response, " no you pay extra?" What kind of mail salon is this, are you kidding. The manger walks over and literally puts two drops of acetone on her fingers to smooth out the smudge on my nails instead of doing it again. I'm thankful, they look somewhat decent after she used her hands to smooth the smudge but I'm still upset. I'm mad I paid $27 and $5 dollars tip. Very disappointed and appalled at such horrible behavior from the staff and owner. Also, this place is filthy... dirty is an understatement. read more

Nothing happy about this place, they had no air conditioning in August. Very hot and uncomfortable. I paid $50 for a pedicure and my cuticles were not trimmed or even pushed back. When I said something about it (right before he put on my polish and I realized it for sure wasn't happening) he acted like there was a language barrier and didn't know what I was saying. Although he had no problem understanding me at the beginning of the service when discussing nail polish colors. I politely sat for the remainder of the service and left. Great service and friendly staff! They did a great job too! This was my review 2 years ago and it was very true. However, lately they have become less than even good. They double booked my daughter and I with another client and she was pretty upset, which I cannot blame her. Since she was mad, they rusted through my fill and my daughters full set. Before the week was up, one of my daughters nails broke completely off and my fill is already lifting. Anna's work is typically great, but not this time. My advice, if they are busy (which is almost everyday) find another salon to go too. They are far too expensive to have such poor quality product and service. I understand the demand but they don't take that into consideration in the slightest degree. They are just thinking about the money rather then being honest that they are unable to provide the services expected of them. read more

What's the deal anymore. All the nail salons are going downhill. It really doesn't matter where you go. I have tried endless salons in the Redding, Anderson, Red bluff area. A full set lasts maybe a week. Nails popping at every salon. The quality has left the building. I had these nails on for two days only to look down and see one on the ground. I got them done for Valentine's Day. It is Valentine's Day and I am missing one. My fiancé treated me. He is not impressed. Can we please use good product. I have had nails on for weeks in the past.
