A little over a year ago I was looking to get my nails done for a special occasion. I'd had some bad experiences so I called around looking for the right feel. I made my one-time appointment with Lisa and I loved her so much I ended up coming back in 3 weeks to get my nails done again. It's a year later and I have been getting my nails done by Lisa every 3 weeks. I used to feel bad because I always have to have my kids with me but Claws is welcoming and understanding and Lisa is amazing - she's become extended family for us. My very girly daughter is always so pleased that I have pretty, girly nails and I always feel pretty and pampered when I leave. Not to mention I am HARD on my nails and the job Lisa does holds up like gangbusters! Im so glad I stumbled upon Claws last year and that I ended up with Lisa... While on a girls trip from Oregon we decided it would be fun to treat ourselves by going to get pedicures. We went ahead and scheduled side by side pedicures this morning at Claws nail salon and could not been more impressed! Mandi and Paige were absolutely amazing and were so friendly that by the time we left we felt like we had made new friends! We had the absolute best time and the pedicures were next level! We had the whole place to ourselves and they treated us like VIP! Next time we are going to be in Redding we now know exactly where to go! Highly recommend!!! read more

She shaped them better (by hand!) and made them more naturally thin so fit my finger shape. Love coming into Claws. It's so cute and homey. The pedi room is adorable and relaxing with all the pillows to gather around your back! The nail stations are just as adorable and each are unique to the nail tech which makes it super fun! The relaxing atmosphere is a perfect retreat to go to. So many colors to chose from for nail colors. Shawnie does a great pedi as well as gel nails, she listens to exactly what you want and strives to accomplish your wishes. It's always a FUN time, she has a great out going spirit, makes it ALL ABOUT YOU time! You won't regret it.... make an appointment and you'll be a new person!!! CON: My only .... uncomfortable issue or gripe if I have to say.... the tech, Trisha might be her name, sitting at the door entrance is quite rude.... she never smiles at you when you walk in, beings she is right at the entrance and the first tech you see you'd think she'd have the courtesy to say a simple hello, why not, smiles make you look younger, right! During a pedi she got irritated because the sink broke and we had to move to the other sink, she had a pedi coming in soon so she had to wipe out the sink area.... wow....tough worK.. plus it was awkward and made us feel uncomfortable, like we had done something wrong. She walks around with an attitude cloud over her head and makes it obvious.... NOBODY else acts this way.... matter of fact everyone laughs together and has a great time.... Enough with the CON....I am always looking forward to coming into Claws. I even look for someone to go have a pedi by Shawnie every week because it's so fun and relaxing!!! Chrisy and Maria are two other techs that are so nice and sweet. They go out of their way, offer to get you a drink.... even when your not their client, how nice is that! Dawn is an incredibly skilled nail artist. She can do any shape or design you ask. I usually come in and just show a photo off of the internet and she can replicate it even better than the original. My nails are so well taken care of every time she does them. Throughout the whole process I have never felt any discomfort, and my cuticles never feel raw or in pain from too harsh of filing like I have experienced at other nail salons. Dawn is very efficient, and thorough with her work, even on a time crunch she works quickly, but carefully, making sure each nail is smooth and perfectly shaped. Not to mention Dawn is super nice, and fun to talk to. I've had the best nails experience with her. read more

no. never again. be careful relying on yelp reviews. the woman that did my manicure and pedicure said she had a friend post a positive review for her. she was unfocused, didn't listen to my requests, and lazy. she applied way too much polish on some nails and not enough on others, didn't clean up the edge, and when she bumped into a wet nail, she tried to dab it with oil on her finger... only to make it worse. very unprofessional. i left frustrated, disappointed, and mad that i get to remove the horrible polish job she did and do better job myself. the spa itself is nice, the nail technician i got is not. i won't return. it was a complete waste of my time and money. read more

I was really grateful to be squeezed in for a gel manicure right before I needed to go to a holiday party, but I was pretty disappointed with the experience and results of the $25+ manicure. There was no soaking, no buffing, no cuticle oil. All I got was a quick filing and the snipping of two or three hangnails, the polish, and some lotion with a hand massage at the end. The manicurist left some little snags on the ends of my nails, making the finish jagged after the gel polish cured. Overall, they looked nice though, so I was okay with that, since I got squeezed in last minute and the manicure should still last me a couple weeks, right? Nope. The very next day, two nails on my right hand chipped. I had to go to a different salon that day and ended up having them take off the polish on those two fingers as well as the same ones on the other hand and put on an accent color, since Claws wasn't open to match my original color and glitter. The other salon removed the polish, shaped my nails, buffed, did four precise coats of color and glitter plus the base and top coats, added additional gel top coats to my existing nails from the other manicure, trimmed all of my cuticles, gave me a massage, and rubbed cuticle oil on my fingers--all for FIVE DOLLARS. The accent fingers look so much tidier than my originally manicured fingers. All good now, right? NOPE. Sunday, only THREE DAYS after my first manicure with Claws, the entire right thumb of polish came off at once. Other nails were looking crappy too. On the plus side, the manicurist called me the next day in response to my original voicemail when they were closed, and redid that thumb. But within a few days, all the rest of the nails (except for the four that the other salon redid) were flaking off in entire pieces. I'm sad because the manicurist at Claws was nice, squeezed me in last minute, and the salon was cute, but the manicure was the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten, and that includes my DIY at home manicures with regular polish and a gel top coat that doesn't require UV light. I expect a salon gel manicure to last a solid week, and I've had ones that lasted 3 weeks, and would have lasted longer except the polish had grown out too far for my nails to look nice. Overall, disappointed. read more

I just had my nails done by Elsa and I LOVE them!!! She did such a great job with cuticles, nail shape, etc. Great color selection and lots of different kinds of glitter and bling. The nail salon is really cute and I love the atmosphere. Lots of fun ladies there. Elsa is super nice and fun. Can't wait to go back! read more

I went to Claws Nail Salon for the first time in July. I went to Shawnie (who I have known for several years). When I walked in, I was impressed with the atmosphere. I was greeted by the other technicians with smiles and hellos. I had my 4 year old son with me, and there were no issues. Shawnie let him pull up a chair next to me, and he sat their quietly. Shawnie is outgoing and friendly. We talked the entire time, and before I knew it, my nails were done. Shawnie did an amazing job on them. I typically go "quiet" for my nails, but decided to go a little "loud" this time. They were perfect, and lasted for about 3 weeks. I am back in Redding this weekend, and will be going to see Shawnie again. This time I think I'll give the pedicure room a try, too. read more

After a nail hiatus I've come back to the world of treating yourself to something nice. And I must say that Shawnie does a superb job. I get gel polish on my toes and fingers and just love how it lasts! Plus she add adorable jewels if I want them on!! The atmosphere is wondeful!! It's never too loud, but not so quiet that you feel as if you are in a funeral home (seriously I've been to some spas where I thought I'd be beaten if I made any noise). As a stay at home mom, student, and home business owner being able to come to a place like Claws where I can honestly just relax and not worry about dogs or kids is wonderful!! read more

If you like a nice setting while you get your pedicure, this is it. Cost was higher, $45, but a lot more went into my friend's pedi than I had at a more typical nail salon. It was a birthday gift for my friend and did not disappoint. read more

I had to cancel my appointment today at the last minute due to a family emergency and I spoke with Trish. She proceeded to tell me that I was "due there in a couple of hours" anyways. She said she would call back with a rescheduled time. I told her I was sorry and she didn't acknowledge it, all she said was "mhm". Her tone was extremely rude as well. I called back and spoke with the manager and expressed how upset I was because of how I was treated and mentioned to her I had to cancel due to a family emergency and all was said and done. Then Trish called me on A BLOCKED NUMBER and told me that I never said anything about a family emergency and pretty much that I was wrong because I didn't mention that to her. She never apologized either. Trish handled it unprofessionally and they definitely lost a potential costumer. read more

This salon was recommended to me by a good friend. Apparently she uses a different manicurist than Heidi who I was was scheduled with. Nice atmosphere but that is about all I can say. Heidi totally botched my gel manicure. She missed covering the little nooks and crannies and trimmed my nails unevenly. By the 3rd day my pedicure started chipping which never happens when I go to other salons. She was extremely inefficient after 3 hours I called my husband to let him know she was still trying to fix what she notched. She seemed shocked when I told her it was 3 hours. She apologized for the terrible job. Gave me a discount which compared to how badly she botched things seemed insulting. She came out after after I walked out the door and said the next appointment would be no charge. Thanks but no thanks! read more

Worst pedicure, the lady did not scrub my feet at all. She did not even have any tools out. The only thing she did was file my toenails and apply polish for 60$ and then I had to go home and clean the polish off my skin. I definitely don't recommend this place. read more

So you are welcome there but your babies are not! I have been there twice now with my 5 month old and he was so good both times, in fact, the techs and clients loved him. Then after my appointment and later on in the day my tech tells me that the manager talked to her and no babies are allowed, give me a freaking break. read more
