We finally made it to this very simple and quaint little place! Our waiter was personable and friendly while he answered all my questions. I had traditional Pho with beef. Husband a shrimp and veggies with noodles. He also had egg rolls. We previously had these delicious egg rolls at a local art event. We also had dumplings for our appetizer. Everything was delicious. The restaurant has a cute little area to buy earrings and what not. This was a very enjoyable experience and I hope to visit again and try fried noodles! read more

Me and my boyfriend had came here to try it out due to the good reviews that were being posted online. It was disappointing to say the least. The pho was missing the aeromatics and missing tons of key flavors that should be in a traditional vietnamese pho. The bun bo hue was disappointing as well. It was only served with flank and traditionally it is served with an array if cut meat, pig feet, blood sausage, etc. The flavor was disappointing and felt like I was being served a bowl of water with chili oil in it. It was missing key flavors and aeromatics. We also ordered the calamari but once we got it it was very soggy. Glad we tried it but we wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

This or favorite place to eat pho. There are lots of other dishes here, and they serve breakfast too. But, we have stuck to the soups. Always excellent service and they know what we want by now, and we only have to acknowledge that we will have our usual when we sit down. I give it 4 stars because I hope one day they will offer báhn mì or bún bò huê. It's the only thing they lack. I am updating my review to include a 5th star. This is because we have come to love John our waiter and never have to ask for a thing with him. He's always happy to see us and serves every customer with a great attitude and a sense of making sure they are taken care of. Several times the owner has made special dishes for us that weren't on the regular menu. If you like traditional Vietnamese soups other than Pho, you only have to ask. We still love the Pho but also like the Shrimp Curry, a delicious thick green curry over rice. While the regular menu isn't huge, everything has a wonderful flavor. And, you'll never walk away hungry. Be sure to ask about spice levels as it can knock your sinuses out of your head if you aren't careful. This place is simply our favorite place to eat - and I'm a VERY picky diner. Try it. You won't regret it. read more

This is a very small place that I have been to several times. It's always been OK but today was not up to par. They have an extensive menu. One of the sections is the "Broken Rice" dishes. There have to be at least 20 different types. I ordered the Sugarcase Shrimp which was $13.95. Boy was I disappointed. To begin with, there was no broken rice, just plain steamed rice. When I asked about it I was told "oh, we don't have broken rice, it comes with steamed rice". Then why do you have a whole section of your menu with broken rice dishes? Uh. Then the sugarcane shrimp. Not sure what they served, but it bore no resemblance to real sugarcane shrimp. Instead I got a spongy, artificially colored mass that had no shrimp flavor at all. Add a small bit of picked vegetables and a few slices of cucumber, that's a $14 dish. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

We stopped here on our way home from Florida. Happy Noodle is such a pleasant surprise right off the highway. I ordered the summer rolls for an appetizer and they were so fresh! I didn't get a pic because we quickly gobbled them down with the yummy peanut dipping sauce. I had the rice plate with lemongrass chicken. It's always super sad when Asian restaurants serve bland food-- it almost seems impossible, right? My guess is that the positive reviews reflect a limited sample pool. There are no Asian restaurants of note in Gautier. There is one mediocre shopping center place that serves stuff-- that one by Jerry Lee's. So, one of the best things about spring rolls is the sauce, right? Yes, you don't need it but it takes it to the next level, and I asked twice if I could get some (once on the phone and another when I got there, and the answers were a bit vague, but I just assumed it was understood that the sauce would be in there). I think you know where this going... Sauce aside, the noodle dish was a bit dry, and they left the tails on the shrimp, which I get, but it sucks. I could also be more forgiving if the price for two spring rolls and the noodle dish (shrimp lo mein) wasn't $16. So, in sum, I'd watch it. The positive reviews are a bit misleading. Also, the lady on the phone was rude and not helpful (to a newcomer to the establishment). I had a few questions, and she was short, and grumpy. The guy inside was great, but I interrupted his dinner, and I think he was in a rush to get back to it (don't you love that-- when the one of the two staff members are eating and chilling. I get it. We all get hungry, but go in the back or take a moment). Yeah, so I won't ever return. Check out Thai Diner in Mobile, AL for comparable dishes at a much better price. If you want anything similar around here, get over it. I think Long Beach is the only place with a decent spot, so if you're traveling keep going about 15 miles read more

We are on our way back to Houston from Destin. Glad we found this restaurant at lunch time. Food are very light, not greasy. Pho broth has great flavor. Pad Thai is OK. Curry noodle soup has so much flavor we have to order a French bread to soak up the curry sauce. read more

Well worth the drive from Ocean Springs. I have had the Rare Beef Pho and the Shrimp Crunchy Noodle. Both were delicious.
