Great food EXCEPT for the fried rice. It quite possibly be the worst fried rice I've ever had. Uncle Ben's boxed 'make-it-yourself' fried rice is better, and you're not even frying it! I don't understand how they have been in business for over 35 years and no one has told them to learn how to make fried rice?!?! Everything else on the menu is pretty good, so it baffles me how they suck so bad at the #1 best selling item on the menu! I mean it comes with every combo, every lunch special, everyone orders a pint or quart with their order. The place deserves four stars, but because the most popular item on the menu su*ks so bad, they get a one! read more

When I went to NYC in 2008, the first meal I had after a long day with airports and hotel Internet, I ate Chinese food. Funny, I did it again, but this time in New Jersey. The hotel gave me a list of places, and said, "some of them delivered." I looked at the list, looked places up on my iPad, and found Happy Panda. I tried to order once, without a menu, and the associate at Happy Panda wasnt pleased. I then called back, and ordered. I would've gone and gotten it, but I am exhausted. And have no idea where it is. I ordered walnut shrimp and crab Rangoon. The crag Rangoon are triangle, creamy, and wonderful. The walnut shrimp is breaded with vegetables including those little miniature corn. It only took them about a half an hour to deliver. The delivery man was very nice. They included forks, plates and napkins. ....I am pleased...Sunday night after 6:00, delivery. Can't beat that! I do wish they would leave a menu at the hotel front desk for out of towers. So this wasn't my first choice for dinner this day, but my friends that I was with wanted to eat something quick before heading to church. The food was definitely made quickly but the food quality was just your typical chinese food. The restaurant itself was small, dirty and dingy but the food itself was eatable. I would say if you're in the mood for your typical Chinese food, this place is your go to (I'd recommend taking it to go or getting it delivered as this place is not a place where you would sit down and eat-only two tables with four chairs each). We love the food here. Fried rice is delicious. Lo mein is flavorful. I enjoy the general tso chicken and sesame chicken. Employees seem nice and the girl at the counter is always friendly. I always pickup rather than have it delivered so I can't speak about their delivery service but the food is always good and fresh tasting here when we order. Highly recommend. read more

This is my second go-to, as I live on the other side of Wayne and typically order from another location that's closer. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience here. The food is always really good, the portions are on point, and it's usually prepared quickly. Also if you're ordering for a large party, I suggest using Beyond Menu. Maybe I'm spoiled from the wide variety of asian culture foods I have access too in the city, but this place was just alright. It looks very similar to many of the take out places in the city, however the taste to me just doesn't cut it. We ordered beef chowfun, sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. The fried was was very mediocre, it didn't seem to have any love in it (or flavor..) the white rice was hard, definitely NOT fresh ( I'm korean & know how rice should taste!!) The sesame chicken was way too saucy, with extremely small pieces of chicken, the noodles in the chowfun was alright but the beef was not too good. The chicken with broccoli was extremely mediocre, the white rice sucked how much better could the dish have been! The food was just alright, I haven't eaten at any other chinese restaurant in the area so maybe this is the standard of taste here? I'll have to check it out. I guess I'd order from here again .. FOR NOW !!!! I must find somewhere that tastes better than this place asap :( ! read more

Delivery took 1 hr 20 minutes instead of the 45 minutes quoted. One thing I ordered for my son didn't come. Beef teriyaki (beef on a stick) was extremely overpriced for 3 little dried out overcooked pieces of meat. Like jerky. Dumplings were burnt on one side. Tofu was tasty. Rice was fresh. read more

A group of us decided to try this place. The tables were dirty and sticky we actually were cleaning them ourselves. My dish sweet n sour chicken with fried rice was just ok. Nothing special. The rice did not taste fresh like it had been sitting around and reheated. I've had way better Chinese. The food was served a little too quickly for my tastes. read more

Happy Panda, stuck in a corner next to Corrados Market, is 90% take-out. They seem to do a brisk business. I don't go there often since I prefer a sitdown lunch. But they have four tables and we squeezed in for lunch today. Lunch prices are $5.25 to $5.50. Cheap enough. The food is better than most Chinese places I have tried lately. The food is disgusting & I'm not a very picky eater! I ordered shrimp and broccoli and it was so gross! It had a very weird taste. I gave the place a second chance and I ordered chicken wings with rice and I am a huge fan of chicken.. The chicken was still red! Consistently decent food. Been ordering for years. I've experienced first rate Chinatown banquets. This ain't that. But for suburb delivery it's fine. While I still crave dry sauté shrimp with scallions I have long since lost hope of finding that in Jersey. The pork lomein is very good and the pan fried dumplings are tasty. Ordered for delivery and after an hour still haven't received my order. So I call and a man tells me they have been super busy and the food isn't ready and it will be another hour!!!! I ask to cancel my order and he says well you already used your credit card so you are going to be charged anyway. Then he tells me I can pick up in 15 min or have it delivered in an hour. Very good, solid take-out Chinese food. The steamed dumplings are very good. I really like their boneless barbecue spareribs. They heat them under a broiler and they're not fried so they taste very good. Always moist and tender. Their Singapore mei-fun is also very good. The egg roll was smallish and greasy but apparently homemade; so-so. The chicken chow mein was awful because the onions used were bitter, of low quality, not cooked enough and possibly on the verge of spoiling. However, there was plenty of chicken. The good news: Their hot and sour soup is the BEST we ever had, loaded with fresh mushrooms and tofu. It's worth the trip for just that soup. read more

This place needs to be put on a Zoloft treatment with plenty of refills because this is one depressed panda. The once happy panda is gone and there now resides a lame panda dishing out subpar dishes. Rather than maintaing their quality or improving, it has sunk down to the lower rungs of culinary offerings, joining the rest of the Chinese restaurants in the area. This Chinese food restaurant keeps disappointing with its horrible service. Last time we ordered we were told 35-45 minutes. 2 hours later the order was delivered. This time order was picked up and missing items calling the restaurant it was supposed to be delivered right away and it was again one and half hours later it was finally delivered. I've had my share of Chinese food and I have to say this is the best "Takeout" Chinese food I've ever had. The pork dumplings are the best ever wither they are fried or steamed their amazing! They inject this awesome dipping sauce in the dumpling! Also the curry chicken and vegetables is amazing. Make sure if you like meat add 2 dollars of chicken. It's the most consistent in yumminess Chinese food I've ever had...and I order at least once a week if not twice.... I don't know how people can rate this a 2 its atleast 4 stars...chicken and broc. So I read the reviews and decided to check it out. Made my order in the phone-the woman was very nice and I was very pleased and excited to get food. Order came- but one dish was wrong. ( I had ordered ribs on bone, not with out bone) but hey it happens- so I called her back and she said it would come later. About 30 minutes went by- my Dad had to run to work and I wanted to feed him first. But he was starving and hadn't eaten all day so how can I tell him not to eat the food. He dived into the boneless ribs and fried wontons- all extremely DELICIOUS by the way. But I was worried what to tell the dude when he came back with the correct order. I figured they would dismiss it and let us have both- what a restaurant should do if they screw up your order. Long story short, he let me keep both after having to beg like a puppy. Lol.
