I'll preface this by saying that we are "those" millennial dog parents. Our dog is our baby. We research everything we give him ten hundred times over. Friends ask us how our dog is doing before they ask how we're doing. We have custom-made pajama pants with our dog's face on them. You know. Those people. So please trust me when I say that I do not leave our Obi in others' care lightly. I COMPLETELY and FULLY trust Dog-E-Den. We've been going to Dog-E-Den for the past 2 years, ever since I moved to Los Angeles from NYC. Dog-E-Den came highly recommended from my sister and it is bar none the best daycare we tried. Obi comes in for daycare, boarding, and grooming. We know that when he's there, he's cared for, loved, and catered to. All of the staff is GREAT, really friendly, and they each intimately know and care for the dogs. They also have a webcam that's on during their store hours and I like watching on webcam more than I like to admit. They really cater to each dog's needs. Ours is a bit of a wild child, and they know his strange intricacies, let him have fun, and don't try to change him. I do try to call at least once a day when he's in boarding and the staff is always happy to tell me how he's doing, and they're real updates, like they'll share stories of how he's doing and which dog he's playing with the most. Plus, we have the webcam and get a report card a day, which includes how much of his food he ate. They can be strict on vaccines and the behavior test, sure, but we are grateful for that. We WANT them to be strict on those! See again: we are very protective of our best friend!! We have nothing but love for the whole staff. Plus, the grooming and groomer are also great, and quite possibly the most affordable groomer in the area. I get my senior pup groomed here all the time! In general, he hates baths and grooms but they tell me he's a good boy and he's never come back home with any issues. He almost always get a cute bandana to wear afterward, and he smells so good! I love how soft they make his fur, and how short they get his nails without quicking them. We have wood floors at home so the shorter nails are a must. The pricing is really reasonable, and it only take an hour or two to groom him. read more

Beyond upset! ... warning! First and foremost I am not someone to post any bad reviews that can affect a business, but my experience was so upsetting I have to share as a warning. I have been bringing my puppy here for about a year for grooming as well as my other dog. I started taking my puppy here after a bad experience I had with another groomer where I didn't understand what a shave down meant. Was mortified when I got her back but at least in hindsight, they had consent forms and actually cared about my confusion afterwards and handled it much better. My puppy is admittedly difficult to groom as she gets dirty and mats easily but after my first bad experience with a groomer I explained my sentiment to the Dog E Den groomer. She shaved her down EVERYWHERE - did not call me for approval, she had cute hair on the top of her head - gone! All hair gone. I do not even recognize her. This same groomer handled her previously and even in February would not take her saying we needed to go to a vet to get a shave down that would be safer and more comfortable for my dog. That was respectable. And now this time given the troubles I have had with her, she didn't even leave a hair on her head. Complete shave down without a phone call or any indication letting me know she was going to do this. Anyone who has experienced this knows it takes months to grow back and it is a deeply personal thing when your dog looks entirely different than before. She could have called me but even shaved the matted areas and brushed her out in others- she didn't care to and decided the quickest and easiest thing would be to shave her WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR CONSULTING ME!!! When I picked her up, I said I want to talk to the groomer and sat down on the floor in absolute panic and dismay. I was so upset and had to break the news also to my boyfriend and partner that this is happened again. The groomer did not even have the decency to take a moment and walk out and talk to me She said that she was grooming another dog and it would be 20 minutes before she could come out. Following that I decided to pick up my boyfriend who would also want to be involved in this situation and came back to discuss this with the groomer. She was on edge would not take responsibility whatsoever and immediately dismissed the situation, lied about my instruction and actually said there was no manager available and went so far and extreme as to call the police to get us to leave. Absolutely psychotic!! There was one person at the front of host stand, who was listening to what we said, and understanding of how upset we were. The groomer came back probably pretending she was on the phone with the police - as if they need to waste time on something like this?? Another employee there agreed with me as well. They refused to call a manager and said there wasn't one. Additionally I also take my other 10 yo dog in and she did a hack job on her as well who has always looked great with this groomer. It's like someone cut certain parts with scissors showing her neck which was chopped up in random parts- but at least didn't shave her down. So please beware! I thought I could trust this groomer as she's done both of my dogs for about a year now and trusted she understood my needs for both dogs. Just beware! It almost felt personal or like a vendetta. This is an incredible place for your dogs daycare! I take my dog 3-4 days a week here, and it's worth every penny! They had a free week promo and it was the right decision to keep bringing my dog here after that! First-The location is right off sunset Blvd, right on the corner. It has glass windows for the big dog side and the small dog side so it's always a joy to walk by and see the dogs! They have a lot of space on both sides! My pup loves it here, literally 5 min away she already notices buildings and knows where we're going and gets so excited! The even better part is they have live feed cameras to watch your dog while you're away at work etc. They also offer boarding and the prices aren't terrible! Second-The staff is top notch. Every time I bring my dog in they know her by name and are always happy to see her! I feel safe and comfortable leaving her there and I'm a pretty protective dog dad! They keep the dogs safe and are always on point with feedings and love playing with the dogs. It was my 10 m/o Standard Bernedoodle's second visit to the groomers today. Normally I wash and brush Lotte at home, but her hair had grown really long and it became increasingly difficult to brush her properly. After spending 10 days with a dog sitter over the holidays and probably not getting brushed the entire time, she had several pretty big matted areas in her cheeks and chest, so it was time for professional help. Lotte's very first grooming appointment before her spay surgery had been a success at Dog-E-Den, so we went back to the same groomer, Cinthia. My puppy is still young and quite nervous in new situations. Cinthia took her time and went slow during both appointments to help Lotte feel more comfortable. She followed my wishes regarding the haircut, and I've been very happy with the quality of her work both times. A HUGE deal for me is feeling confident that my dog will not be able to get out from Dog-E-Den and get lost (this actually happened to one of our late dogs at a different place, years ago. Ever since then I pay attention to things like double doors and overall security. Dog-E-Den looks as secure as a bastion!) Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. I'm so sad to give this place a bad review as the folks are really very kind. But the state my senior dog was returned to me cannot be ignored. After three nights being boarded at Dog-E-Den, my sweet boy came home absolutely lethargic, dehydrated (drank two full bowls of water when we got home), limping, smelled terrible, and a coat full of mattes and actual twigs with thorns stuck in his paws (we had him groomed the day before taking him here). It took him three full days for his personality to come back or even for his tail to wag when pet. Then, after four days of being home, the dreaded kennel cough showed up. I realize kennel cough is a risk you take when boarding a dog, but with all of the other upsetting issues, I simply could not leave this unsaid. While he was being boarded, I would check the camera periodically throughout the day. The people seemed to treat the dogs kindly. They would clean up messes quickly enough. But it's clear they are cleaning up with dirty mops and not spraying any disinfectant on spots. Which would explain the strong urine smell when you walk into the place (when I went in for his temperament test they had a huge fan on and several essential oil diffusers running). My dog was seen just laying down and was rarely engaged with by the people, even if he followed them around. Also the cameras are turned off in the evening, which was not explained to us and I find suspicious. We will never, ever return to this place as we feel our dog was neglected (at best). read more

I was on the search for a boarding spot for my puppy (4 months old) and came across this neighborhood find. Filling out the necessary paperwork was a breeze after the initial outreach on the website. Soon after, I called to set up a temperament test. My puppy is very shy and we left her for a few hours. When we got her back, she clearly has a good time! We took advantage of the neighborhood deal and have brought her in for a week. The staff has been super attentive, she's always energized to go (and sometimes sad to leave). At the end of each day, we've received quality report cards and we've enjoyed having access to their camera footage throughout the day. I'm sure it's a fine place; the staff just needs to be better aware and better aligned if its policies. I called to reserve some time for boarding and got acquainted with the receptionist - told her about my pup, vaccination records, breed, age etc., and was met with no probs! Just register online and schedule your temperament test, so I did just that. Fast forward a two weeks later when I'm scheduling the test and am now told that cane corsos are apparently restricted and cannot board. No context, no meeting the puppy, just no. What Fred then suggested was for me to go to my vet and ask them to change my dog's formal documentation to say mixed breed so that "insurance will let us." I won't even comment on the fact that he's openly sharing that they normally practice insurance fraud, but to ask a customer to ask their vet to lie on paper is really bizarre and off-putting. If you're lying to your insurance company about dogs they consider high risk, are you even taking proper care in assessing these risks, or asking people to have paperwork changed so you can get the booking? Anyway. Nothing I said would've implied i was desperate for a boarding place or in immediate need; all Fred knew was I was a new customer preparing for my first reservation with them. Anyways. Wary of the enthusiastic compliance bending and how far it may reach (if you're open to gaming and lying to your insurance provider, how honest are you with your customers requirements?) and lastly, sorry, large breed owners - we are not welcome. read more

My pup Cheyenne has been going to daycare here for about a month now, and we are absolutely loving it! She starts going crazy the second that we pull up and pulls on me all the way to the door. The facility is beautiful, clean, and very spacious. My girl can be shy with strangers and the staff has done a wonderful job making her feel comfortable and safe. Daniel from this location contacted me and we were able to get Kobe in for a grooming with Cinthia. I was actually looking forward to taking Kobe after the appointment was made. Cinthia listened to what we were looking for in a haircut for Kobe and she was quite knowledgeable of what would be the best options to ensure Kobe got a good haircut without risking the possibility that a short haircut for Pomeranians might have on their coat and gave us her honest suggestions. My husband and I felt that she listened to our concerns and requests and we felt comfortable leaving Kobe in her hands. It took about a little over an hour and we were called to pick him up soon so we headed over there and Daniel brought Kobe out and he looked so well groomed! Had a full groom on my long haired Chihuahua. Service was quick. The cut was nice and the groomer was very friendly.

I returned to Dog-E-Den because of a good experience. This time unfortunately so. I paid $115 for a full groom , shower, dry and a sheepadoodle teddy bear cut. I explained to the groomer what I wanted. The whole session was done in less than 1.5 hours rather than a 4 hour session last time. They decided just to shave my dog saying it's too "matted" as en excuse, without giving me a call even to discuss. The dog came back traumatized. There were lots uneven spots and scratches on belly, tail and other parts I couldn't even see. I run business myself and couldn't get over the fact that I should let the owner know in case they have a new groomer who's not performing to standard. The owner has a receptionist call me, completely procedural and not genuine at all. There is no follow up, no further discussion, all excuses. I was promised a call back for 5 days but I guess they've moved on. They charged me for "dematting" (simply because the dog has thick curly fur not that I don't brush it daily. I know what Mat means). Ended up completely shaving the dog without letting me know as it's just easier for them. I never understand why people review business poorly. I would like for everyone to know about this business practice. The follow up and care for return customers are very disappointing. Maybe they don't care about one customer who only returns once every 3 months, but they left me with a dog that will take 3-4 months to fully grow a coat. I would not return again. My friend recommended Dog E Den in Hollywood since I was babysitting my buddies chihuahua but due to work needed to find a place to board the little pup for one day/night. Obviously, I got it approved by the owner - work things do come up and I am glad I found a last-minute housing option that seemed legit. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and I felt confident enough to leave the shaky chihuahua in the hands of these professionals. They provided me with what they call a "daily report card" so I had pictures of Chiquita throughout the day/night along with all meals provided and outings. They also have several around the clock webcams so I was able to check in on my breaks to make sure she was doing alright. Being responsible for a 2 lb dog is very frighting but they had small dog areas so she was with her kind and not being attacked, thank god. I opted for the grooming right before pick up since, why not? They did an excellent job in taking care of her and when I came to pick her up she was all clean and sparkly - but still shaking lol. My boyfriend and I have recently got a Shiba Inu puppy named Kuma in early September. We wanted him to socialize sooner rather than later so we started looking for nearby doggy daycares that we believed would be safe for Kuma. The sign up process is simple and easy on the website. There are a number of vaccinations they require. Once you sign-up online and include the paperwork of the vaccinations, you can schedule a temperament test where they bring your dog into the play area and see how your dog interact with other dogs. Once they pass, you can start bringing your furry best friend in for daycare and boarding. They separate the dog rooms by size and there's plenty of space. They have cameras that I can access during doggy daycare hours. The staff is always present to ensure safety and cleanliness. Kuma's first day was yesterday and I can tell when watching the cameras, he is slowly opening up because it looks like he made friends with the long-hair cream colored Dachshund. :) My boyfriend biked on his way to work and happened to realize he was passing by Dog-E-Den. He was able to see all the dogs through the giant windows and saw Kuma playing happily! At the end of the day when I picked him up, I received Kuma's report card and pictures taken of him from throughout the day. He started off the day trembling in my arms, but after seeing how happy he was through the cameras and when I picked him up, I'd have to say his first day was a success! I took both my dogs here for boarding while I was away for a few days. Both my dogs came back with an eye infection. When I called to ask if something had happened during the stay, I was rudely told that the infection couldn't have possibly happened from their center and they would call if something happened. I did not accuse them of anything. Just wanted to see if something happened. Also-if my dogs are sick, the other dogs they were around are likely sick too-so they should have contacted the other owners to be cautious. All I know is I took two healthy dogs and got two sick dogs that are now on antibiotics. Their rude service did not help. Will never return here. read more

I always see a lot of dogs at day care. I'm guessing they're good with day care but as for their bath and brush. Horrible. I picked up both my dogs. They both smelled clean but one of them was not brushed at all. She had eye boogers still stuck to her face and the other had poop on her butt. I'm positive they only washed their body and avoided all the other areas. Anal glands were not fully expressed. It was convenient having a groomer close but sadly I won't be coming back. I'll stick to Rockstar Rover. Update: My pup got a bad ear infection. My Vet said it was from water getting in her ear and was not dried properly. Thanks dog e den for a $180 vet visit. read more
