Our dog (Lab/German Short Haired Pointer mix) was pretty scared to be dropped off at Elite Pet Care (like I said, she's scared of everything) and she stayed by herself while I was there, avoiding other dogs. But Kelli made us feel totally at home. This was the first time we had left our dog alone (she wasn't quite 1 yet), but Kelli made her feel comfortable and before too long, she was jumping and playing with the other dogs. I've debated on writing this review as this experience happened two or three months ago and we didn't end up using Kelli's services after this. But this experience was pretty frustrating and stressful. I was shaking when I left. TL:DR Kelli herself is friendly and cares about dogs. Pitbulls aren't generally accepted and during our evaluation her dog was very reactive towards mine. Long story short, Kelli had initially turned me down when I inquired about her services because my dog is a pitbull mix and her insurance doesn't allow it. I was bummed, but eventually, Kelli decided to give my dog a shot which I really appreciated. Super kind and cheerful on the phone. The location of the boarding facility is NOT in Sherman Oaks like the Yelp page says . . . it's down a street in Reseda. The majority of the neighbors on the street have dogs that will bark at you and jump at the fence. When we got out of the car, a big German Shepherd lunged at a neighbor's gate and freaked our dog out. With the constant barking, our dog barked back. Before Kelli's dog even saw our dog (their fence is not see through), it was going crazy. Kelli even said she'd never seen her dog act this way before. We brought our dog into the little fenced in area and the two of them barked at each other for a while. Mine stopped barking for a moment and put her nose up to the fence for a sniff, but instead of sniffing, Kelli's dog lunged and barked. I don't think it was aggressive, but it definitely was not friendly. I was careful to watch my dog's body language. I could tell she was scared as her barking and posture changed from over-excitement to fear and "stay away" posture after the lunge. Kelli ushered us out as she helped another customer then came to talk to us. The dogs didn't get along . . . I understand, it happens. I would have just left with that, given her four stars for the kindness and service and been on my way. BUT that's when Kelli made a comment that really rubbed me the wrong way. She turned us down (obviously) but then said "I wouldn't want your dog to attack mine". THAT is the reason for the low rating. Her dog was acting aggressive towards mine BEFORE we even got in the gate. Like hey, I don't want HER dog (who was bigger than my dog) attacking mine either because even when mine calmed down for a moment, hers kept going. She told me she'd connect me with another boarder who also owns a pitbull, but she never contacted us. Overall, despite the comment, Kelli is a nice person and our interactions were amicable. The customers picking up their dogs seemed happy and clearly all these 5 star reviews indicate she knows what she's doing. It was just so upsetting to have all the blame placed on my dog who was on thin ice breed-wise against before we even arrived. I get it . . . not all dogs get along. But please don't pin it all on my dog and then never contact me again when you said you would. I wish I would have never put my dog in that stressful, scary situation. Since then, we've found a daycare we really love and our dog enjoys. Wish we would have had a better experience with Kelli. read more

This review is long over due. We haven't used Kelli's services for months due to the COVID situation, but in the past we brought our Murphy to daycare many times. He is a very anxious but playful shepherd, and he absolutely loved his time with them. He would get soooo excited every time we would pull up and he was always tired and clean when I would pick him up. Kelli also offered some advice that really made a difference for his chronic ear infections. I have had some very bad experiences with sitters/daycares in the past, and now I only trust Elite and one other sitter to take care of Murphy. Many of the other daycares are inside of a building with fake grass and concrete floors. The open spaces with fake grass are always super small, which I totally get because it's inside a building. Kelli, on the other hand, has a HOUSE WITH A REAL YARD and real grass. The dogs get real sunlight and get to run around with the other dogs she happens to be dogsitting. She is always supervising and making sure they are doing well, hydrated, and playing nice. We just boarded our dog with her for 10 days. She sent us videos of him playing, them hiking Griffith, as well as general updates everyday. She was very accessible and so easy to work with. I'm not going to badmouth any of the other places, although some did do a horrible job, but instead highly recommend Kelli. Whatever I write for this review won't do Kelli justice. My dog is a rescue and can take a while to warm up to people, but she LOVES Kelli. I had gone to a few places before I found Kelli, but after one session with her I knew that was where Daisy belonged. I can bring Daisy to work sometimes, so my schedule is all over the place, but Kelli is always understanding and available when I need her. She's so flexible and supportive and you can tell she really cares about the dogs and what's best for them. She's also been really helpful in giving me tips for Daisy, since I adopted her fairly recently. Kelli never seems bothered by my random barrage of questions or ever-changing schedule. My puppy had a great time at the visit and so I knew from there that if ever I needed boarding she would be the one to call. A few weeks later, I had a family emergency and needed to go out of town without my puppy. I set up a date and time for pick up and drop off and all went smoothly. We needed help with mid day dog walking for our puppy as she is being crate trained and can't hold it all day. Kelli and Whitney have come and taken care of her during the week for us for months so far. They are very responsive and care deeply about dogs. They always text when they are coming and going at the house and send pix/video and an update how everything is :) Also unlike some other dog walking services that require so much advance notice when you don't need them Kelli and Whitney are more understanding when you need to cancel last minute.
