For the price you can't beat it and it was simply amazing and I'm so glad we booked the deluxe king suite. The breakfast buffet included a wide array of choices and perfect for any traveler whether it's for business or leisure. There was also a silent auction going on in the beautifully crafted lobby with autographed pictures of celebrities and athletes to support cancer research. 10/10 overall would highly recommend and will make sure to stay here again on the next visit!

Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast buffet. Fresh fruit, pastries, cereal selection, eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, English muffins, oatmeal...and more! They did a good job keeping it stocked, even up to closing time for the late stragglers. I would whole heartedly recommend The Grand Hotel. The APH is easy to access both the main entrance and rooms with key pad locks whether anyone is available upon check in or check out. What's not to like.... I took a Lyft/Uber situation upon flying in and got in an hour later than I expected... so this was perfect. My room got an upgrade, which was a pleasant surprise as I flew in for my birthday weekend. I got to meet Robin (the owner) and her colleague in the morning... both very friendly, personable and warm. Good genuine people hoping to keep making anyone who stays here feel welcomed. They're around during the day, but don't live on site... there's currently three great rooms to choose from but talks of a 4th and suite on the way and lot of fun things I'm sure I'll get to experience my next visit and first choice stay. Amazing communication before and during my trip, not to mention on fun places to eat, but the Alberta caters to all needs and dietary restrictions. Lots of fun cafes, shops, and whatever your heart desires within walking distance. Easy to find. Hard not to love. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful with flowers and walking paths. I enjoyed having several nature trails on the property. The only complaint is that there isn't any air conditioning (which is stated on their website). Since it is on the coast, it is cooler. However, your room needs to be in a place where there is air blowing through, and there aren't any screen doors to keep out the bugs. For those of you who are dog owners like me, there were lots of dogs there enjoying the grounds, and the pet cost for the stay was only $35, which is an amazing price. I wish I had brought my dog!! They had a tower fan in the room, but it made all sorts of odd noises like it was just barely managing to function. The bathrooms were updated and nice enough. And unlike many modern places, there were actual solid doors for the bathroom and the toilet room even. So that was a plus. We eat in the attic. And it was pretty lame. The menu is pretty slim, and they were out of several things. The stuff they did have, just wasn't all that great. So we didn't go back. And while the server was nice enough. The service was below your average red robin. We did order breakfast to the room one time, and that was decent. all in all. I would not go back. Even for the price of a regular room.

Upon arrival, I was perplexed to find no one around - not a soul anywhere but I knew someone had to be there because the distinct smell of cat urine about knocked me over. I eventually found the owner who indicated he was alone and explained his wife had passed a couple years ago. He went on to explain that she was the machine that kept the place tidy. I noticed the place was in dire need of attention, and thoughts of thanking the nice man and leaving where rushing through my head. I don't know if he sensed my uneasiness or it was the fact I was the *only* guest there, but he hooked me up with the master suite which was palatial. King bed, sitting area, separate room with a tv (that didn't work) and a couch; the tv in the main room didn't work either. The bathroom was huge. If the weather had cooperated, there would have been a view of Mt. Hood from the front windows. Everything looked great....on the surface. But if you looked a little closer, there was cat hair on every surface, including bedding - I had to turn the pillowcases inside out and pushed the duvet to the other side of the giant king bed. Insects in the carpet and bathroom tub. Breakfast....which is the second B in the B&B, was not prepared unless you cooked it yourself. This didn't bother me much, I'm not really a breakfast person. Besides sleeping with the light on and ensuring every door was locked (that would lock) I think of the 2 nights I spent here, I may have slept a total of 2 hours...and even then I had one eye open. Virgil was a pleasant man, but he needs help - the house is simply too much for him.

Their common areas include a dining room, a living room, a small library (with books and games) and TV room, as well as front and back porches. We originally booked the Oregon Trail room, but Kristin offered to upgrade us to the Oregon Coast room at a discounted rate. We chose the Oregon Coast room for the private balcony and stunning views over the valley. The room was lovely and comfortable. Toiletries, robes, and slippers are all provided for the guests. Our room also had an electric fireplace, which was nice. There was no TV, but that wasn't an issue for us. This is their handicapped accessible room, so there were extra shower and toilet seat handle bars. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two amazing breakfasts prepared by Ayelet. Over the two days, we were treated to blueberry French Toast, a poached pear, homemade bread, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, blueberry scones, and a baked apple. Plus a selection of their homemade jelly/jam. A lot of the ingredients were sourced right from the property. While we ate, Ayelet asked us about our plans for the day, and she offered super helpful suggestions on what to do, where to go, what to eat. She even gave us printed maps! Some other noteworthy items: you get one free T-shirt with your stay; you have a choice of breakfast at 8 or 9 am; there are coolers, sunscreen, and sunglasses you can borrow; they ask your breakfast beverage of choice and usually have it out in the dining room an hour before your breakfast time; there are always homemade cookies, water, and glasses by the mini fridge; you can buy their homemade jam/jelly as well as T-shirts, mugs, coasters, etc. We loved our stay here. The view was gorgeous, the food was delicious, our room was comfortable, and Ayelet was amazing!
