Great people and they do a great job grooming our Havachon. Prices are very reasonable and you can actually see them grooming puppies.

However, upon leaving him there in the time it took me to find a place to stay he deceloped happy tail. on this he would aggressively wag his tail on the kennel wall to the point it would bleed and become raw. I would visit him on the weekends to play and see him as often as I could. I noticed he became tired faster then normal and had scratches all over his skin. Upon asking the staff how often he was getting out of the Kennel to play and run they directed stated he didn't. They we're afraid of his size (80 pound boxer/pit). They were fearful he would knock an employee down and couldn't be controlled. So instead the negligently left him in a kennel. He his now at a vet and may need his tail amputated due to infection. No cream, medical aid or care was provided. The owner simply put anti fly cream on it to keeps insects away. The staff appear kind and genuinely nice people. However they have no business handling dogs. I strongly advise you take your pets elsewhere and avoid at all cost.

Highly recommend for any beloved cat!! We have a total of 4 cats; they run and hide when people…read morethey are not familiar with enters the house. Luna was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in June of 2025 and now takes medication twice daily. If left at home with her sister cats she would not get her medication due to hiding when the caretaker entered the house. We booked a two week stay at the Scratching Post while we traveled. I thought she would hide her whole time at the Inn, but to our surprise it was the opposite. During our daily updates we learned after the first 2 days of being shy she opened up to the staff. She enjoyed spending time with them, petting, scratches and followed them around, the word velcro kitty was used one day. She was very well taken care of during her stay. She is already scheduled for another stay at the Inn.

It didn't workout for our normal sitters so I started researching places to leave my precious kitten. When I say they take fantastic care of your cat/kitten I feel that is an understatement. I would not hesitate to take her back. I highly recommend them. They only take care of cats so I felt that was a much less stressful situation instead of leaving them next to dogs. Even the rooms they keep them in are so much better than cages you see at other places. No cages here! They have little townhomes, standard suite or deluxe suite. I chose standard since I didn't think she needed the bigger room since it was just her. They also update you with pics and how their day went. If you can't tell I was incredibly pleased with this place.

Our daughter, Kelsey, purchased a Shepherd from Martha about 9 years ago. His name is Dante…read more Dante has been such a wonderful addition to our family that we decided to add one to our home. So in 2014 we brought Vader home. We have been so blessed with him. He is such a smart and sweet dog. So much so that we are bringing another Shepherd home sometime in mid to late March. His name will be Darth. Martha is always available if and when you need her or have questions. We contacted her because we realized that we had things to learn and felt like her experiences with Shepherds was the perfect place to go. So we brought Vader to Martha's place for 2 weeks of training. James is Martha's go to person and what she and James have done is absolutely amazing. I so wish I had contacted her 3+ years ago. The training was and is top notch. I wrote to Martha to give her this update. "I wanted to give you an update on Vader. Sunday we were out working on the chicken coop. Forrest and I were both in the coop and Vader was on the outside in our open yard. A neighbor came out with their 4 dogs. Normally Vader would take off and we would have to yell at him to come back and most of the time he wouldn't listen. He loves to play with the dogs but he never listens when we tell him to come back or stay. Back to the story... the couple started to play ball with the 4 dogs and we told Vader to lay down and stay. He never once moved. Didn't even try to go over there. He just sat and watched We could not believe it. Then on another occasion I was taking him out to fetch the ball. I did not have a leash on him. I told him heal over and over and he walked right beside me all the way down the hill into our yard. Never ever ever has anything like that happened. He normally would be jumping up and down trying to get the ball, etc. We are sooo happy with how things are going. We are still mastering the front door but it is so much better than it was. This part is on us, not Vader. So we will have 3 of her dogs and won't ever go anywhere else. It is like he went past toddler over night. I cannot tell you what this process is worth. We will do the same with Darth when the time is right. You are welcome to contact me anytime. Gaye Lynn Trusty

(Note: I decided to fix a couple of things about this review, but I don't know if the original…read morereview stays as it was so I'm copy-pasting it, with additional notes at the end. Sorry if that means you have to read the same info 2x) We purchased our little Bullitt in July of this year (2018). Martha was friendly and kind, and when we went to pick him up it was clear that he was familiar and comfortable with Martha, looking to her for cues and attention (but still happy to meet us and cuddle in my child's lap!). She did warn us as we were leaving with him that they had recently experienced an issue with ticks, and we did find a few on him during the ride home (and removed them all), but given the rural location of her property and the large fenced area in which we saw several of her beautiful, obviously well-cared-for dogs running free, it's hardly a surprise that a tick may show up once in a while! Our other dog has once or twice picked one up in the park behind our home; it happens in Texas (and in many other places). Bullitt did not have any parasites and passed his first vet exam (and all subsequent ones) with flying colors. Whatever problems others may have experienced in the past do not seem to be an issue any longer. Bullitt is now almost six months old and is just a fantastic dog! He's incredibly smart (housebroken within the first month!), very loving and affectionate, friendly but aloof with strangers, playful and energetic, brave but not aggressive. Our neighbor who used to train dogs told us he's never seen a puppy with such a great temperament, and as anyone who knows dogs knows, temperament is largely a result of breeding. We are regularly stopped by strangers and asked where we got him; he is so incredibly handsome, and so great with people. We feel very lucky to have found Martha and to have Bullitt, and recommend Able K-9 very much to anyone looking to add a smart, loving, rock-solid GSD to their family. ADDITIONAL NOTES: I wanted to clarify my reasoning for originally only giving 4 stars. I felt then, and still feel, that communication could have been a little better. After my initial, very warm and friendly, conversation with Martha, I emailed her once or twice with questions, but didn't get a reply until she emailed me a picture of him at six weeks. She called me a week or so later and we had a lovely chat, where she answered ALL my questions and gave me lots of tips and info. Clearly she prefers to give info over the phone, which is fine, it was just a little disconcerting at the time. On reflection, I don't think it was fair of me to cut off a star for that, so I'm fixing the rating. Bullitt is almost eight months old now, and more fantastic by the day! We love him so much; he has added so much to our family. He is an absolute delight. I recently started working on his leash manners in the park nearby (we run and play in our big fenced back yard most of the time--he's a big, handsome boy, strong enough to almost pull me off my feet when we play tug-of-war!). By the end of the second walk, he was mostly staying right at my side, though he's still an excitable puppy who occasionally wants to dash off to smell something exciting, heh. The walk is only 1/8 mile, so that is not a lot. That's how smart he is, and how eager to please. We can't believe we got such a great dog at such a reasonable price--again, this is clearly a labor of love for Martha, not some kind of money-grubbing puppy mill operation. We're delighted with our wonderful little boy and the whole experience, and recommend Able K9 highly.
