We recently boarded our two dogs at Pet Resort in the Gardens, including one who is diabetic. Before booking, we specifically confirmed by phone that they were able to properly care for a diabetic dog and felt comfortable trusting them. We provided verbal instructions twice and written instructions stating that our dog needed to be fed at 7 AM and 7 PM so that his insulin could be administered on a consistent schedule. Unfortunately, we learned at pick up that he had been fed at approximately 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM each day instead. Consistency is extremely important for diabetic dogs, and this type of deviation can be dangerous. When we questioned the feeding times, we were told that special schedules are only followed when instructions are provided. After we pointed out that instructions had been given multiple times, they were eventually located in his chart. What's most disappointing is the apparent lack of concern regarding the seriousness of the error. Mistakes can happen, but attention to detail and an appropriate response are critical, especially when caring for animals with medical conditions. Based on our experience, we were left concerned about the level of communication and oversight provided. We'd never bring our dogs back. read more

My two year old dog always loves her stays at Pet Resort in the Gardens, as well as spending the day at doggy day care. I enjoy receiving text messages, along with photos of her playing, while I'm away and feel assured she's having a fun time and well cared for. The lodging area offers large spaces to give plenty of room for her bed, water and food and employees take special care to review requests with me when I drop her off for her stay. I made a reservation to board my cat while we went on vacation for six days, and I had to cancel due to a change of plans. They require a $50 deposit and refused to refund it even though I canceled almost two weeks prior to boarding. Most places only require a 48 hour notice. Bad for business! I was using Yelp to help find a new place for my rescue puppies to learn to socialize, find a place where they can play and at times, board when I am away / out of town. TLDR; staff kept making excuses on why they put my puppies in a run next to two runs with 10+ big overly excited dogs. Basically, drop them in the deep end and expected 5 and 6-month-old puppies to adjust. Also getting the team there to quote you on prices, I got a runaround. Also, if you don't upgrade by packages, boarded dogs are only allowed a 6, 1, and 7 o'clock potty walk, the rest of the time they are stuck in a small run. Let me share my experience. (I have had pups all my life, and when I moved to DFW, I rescued two new pups, 6 months and 5 months). upon arrival, it was good, staff was attentive, but that is the last of the positive experience I had with this team. The staff shared that there are "temperament evaluation days" that are meant to help the staff and pups if they are candidates for daycare. Well, it really went downhill from there. While I was allowed to see the facility, the team there was less than considerate of my fur kids when they started the evaluation. Natalie was the "facilitator" of the evaluation. The first thing Natalie did was to put my pups in a run outside, which is always a good thing, but the run was adjacent to 2 other runs, that had 10+ older, much bigger dogs that were "overly excited" to see new pups in the play area. Now, a 6-month-old and a 5-month-old, what do you think would do when there are large dogs barking right up against a wrought iron fence? (may not be made of iron,) It was the type of fencing that are just bars, so paws and muzzles can reach through. This is what I saw in the parking lot, but I was hoping it will get better. Giving the staff ample time to work with my pups, it was no surprise that my pups failed the evaluation. I asked to talk to Natalie and asked if it was normal to put puppies in a run, adjacent to runs with large overly excited dogs, and expect first-time dogs to adjust on the fly. Natalie spent most of her time explaining all the faults of my pups, vs helping me understand why she deemed it ok to expect my pups to pass with such an arrangement. It was mainly, "your fault, that they are scared of other dogs." Next, I was trying to arrange for boarding, yes, day camp is not an option, but with me going out of town, I needed a safe place for my dogs to be looked at while I am out. I booked reservations long before, and just 7 days before I would drop my dogs off, I called to verify the registration and I also wanted to get a quote for the services. Come to find out, if you have to board your dog there, they ONLY let them out for potty breaks at 6, 1, and 7 o'clock... that is it... so if you are out of town for a few days, the dog (s) would be stuck in a small run, without any chance to go out (other than potty breaks) without buying a package... which adds up to 40 to 60% more to the base price of boarding. Now, add to that a staff member who kept misquoting me on phone, I was pretty much done with this facility. I don't trust Pet Resort in the Gardens, I felt that my pups would not be in the best of care, and they would default to the excuse that it was the fault of my pups. I do not recommend them, in fact, I would recommend Camp Bow Wow FW East because the staff helps your pup acclimate to the day camp and they are always out playing with their group, for both day camping and boarding.. friendly staff, wide open spaces, and much better prices. Within a 30 min block, my pups were engaged with other dogs their size, and I felt comfortable they would be safe, have fun, socialize, and if boarded, would be only for bedtime... (btw, a 7pm the dogs hit their runs for oversight, and at 7am, they are let out for all-day play both in and outdoors. read more

This little baby dog had so much fun at Pet Resort In The Gardens while we were on our trip. She came home and was so depressed that she wouldn't eat for a day! LOL! Spoiled her rotten! As always our dogs love staying here. This update is about our cat Tillie. We started to board her due to her taking medication for seizures. I was so worried about leaving her but the staff at Pet Resort in the Gardens put me at ease. They have vet technicians that administer her medication. She had a very nice three level Kitty condo with a window to look out. We picked her up Sunday and they said she was very shy but did well on her first stay. I seriously thought she would be mad at me for days but Tillie was happy and purring when we picked her up. The car ride home was more stressful to her and anything. Just knowing our babies are well taken care of while we're on vacation is such a relief. read more

I love this place, and feel 100% comfortable with boarding my precious darling pup there. I appreciate their association with the veterinary clinic. I also appreciate their high standards for vaccinations - they require the canine flu vaccines when other places don't. The facility is super clean, and I know employees who have been there for years. Low turnover means happy people, and I want people who love their jobs to care for my doggy. I have been bringing my 2 dogs for boarding and daycare ever since they were puppies. My dogs are 6 and 8 now. Even though I now live over an 1.5 hours away, it is still worth it to drive them to Pet Resort. I am able to enjoy my vacations more knowing that my dogs are safe and that they are having so much fun. We love the photo updates that they text us every day. Pet Resort may not be least expensive option but I can never see me taking my dogs any where else when we travel. read more

The staff has been a godsend with my fur baby after the passing of her sister. My senior dog passed the week prior to their stay at Pet Resort and the care the staff has given my fur baby was outstanding. They played with her, gave her extra cuddle time, kept her happy while mom had to travel. Mom was so worried about her the whole time, they kept me informed with how she was doing and sent pictures daily. The staff is extremely friendly and true animal lovers. When I called to booked another weekend stay with them they immediately recognized my dog and asked how she was doing. The staff is friendly, helpful and the facility is clean and well run. We have left our dog Jax there and are very happy with the attention and care he has been given. They even sent me text messages daily on how he was doing! There is a vet hospital right there on property in case of emergencies. I highly recommend them, and Jax does too! Unfortunately I will not return my pet to this place either. We paid for the Noble package + extra activities fee. We pick up our dog on 04/11/2022. The dog came home very sick and got a urine tract infection on 04/11/2022 peep with dark urine on the peep pad. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! In April I boarded our four dogs for 3 days and when I picked them up, one of mine was limping. No one told me he was limping during his stay or when I picked them up. I boarded them for 6 days over Memorial Day and when I picked them up ALL of them were choking, coughing, had rattling in their lungs and labored breathing and one dog's ear was so infected it was bloody and swollen shut. Again no one paid any attention to all of this or told me about it. I had to pay Farrell Animal Hospital next door over $500 the next day to get them all treated. And the manager, Abby, who was supposed to call me yesterday to discuss...did not. It's a staff of 20 something's that have no idea what they are doing, what to look for, etc. Today the manager, Abby, looked me in the eye and said your dogs weren't sick while they were here stating there would be no reimbursement. Yet the vet clearly stated this was well advanced and definitely did not magically start as I exited the facility. They were definitely sick with symptoms while staying there. And there's no way my dog's ear was that severely infected even if it started the day I picked them up. And supposedly a vet tech from Farrell Animal Hospital checks each dog daily. Not unless they were blind they didn't. read more

Unfortunately I will not be taking my dog back to Pet Resort. I scheduled a 10 day stay for my dog while my husband and I were on a trip for a family wedding out of the country. Paid for the gold package and the suite so he would be comfortable and happy. Everything seemed to be going well in the updates until I received a text from the vet asking if my dog could be prescribed medication to help with his anxiety. I agreed and then the updates kept coming in positive. A few days later I get a voicemail stating that my dog has been doing really poorly (which I was confused about bc of all the daily updates being positive this far) and stating that they were now worried about aggression and wouldn't probably let him lodge with them any longer. This was 3 days away from the day I had to pick him up while I'm in another country. I scrambled to find someone available to pick him up since I didn't feel comfortable having him stay there any longer. Didn't appreciate how they approached the situation and that I was being threatened that I wouldn't be welcome anymore if he didn't improve (there was literally nothing I could do while I'm in another country besides cut my trip short). Considering that this is a pet lodging facility you would assume the staff would be prepared to handle anxious dogs, specially when he has gone through their most expensive training in a previous stay and they were already aware of his anxiety/shyness from previous stays and didn't raise that as a concern to let him stay with them again. To top it off they forgot to give him the bag I had packed for him when he was picked up, and when I went to pick it up one of their workers tells me "Oh your dog was so sweet" - If you have anxious dogs make sure to look for lodging elsewhere. read more

I talked the wife into taking a last minute vacation and needed to find a place for our cat quickly. I called our vet who we trust and normally use but they were not boarding due to the current pandemic. I asked and they recommended this place. I called and was able to book a two night stay for our cat. Needless to say we were a bit nervous about leaving our loved one with someone new but we felt a bit better that they have veterinarian hospital on site. The staff was friendly and they sent daily pictures of our girl with updates. While we certainly still would prefer to leave our fur baby with our vet, but I certainly have no reservation trusting the wonderful people here and would highly recommend Pet Resort to anyone. read more

Edit: I received a very nice reply from the owner. No hard feelings. My kids just didn't fit in to the crowd. I Just got back to our RV with my dogs. Ive been in town three weeks and was here at the end of April too. They went for a temperament test to see if they can continue daycare. I received a call that my Frenchie was too hyper to be evaluated because they didn't have dogs of his energy level there to play with. I understand that but...I was given no communication orabout my Boston nor did they offer to let her stay. The staff basically just handed me their leashes and let me walk out the door. They said meekly and with no smiles or offers of another coming appointment, that "she wants him to come back when there are more dogs like him". This was my first time there. We live out of town. I take them all over the country to day care and have never been called to get them. I'm disappointed in the customer service of not getting any feed back on my Boston or the offer for her to stay or come back or anything. I had to get a vaccine for them to come here and I waited literally two weeks for today. In the mean time they have gone to Camp Bow Wow three times and I still have two paid days there but still wanted to use Pet Resort in the Gardens. After today, I won't even try this place again. What a disappointment in service and friendliness. I spend A LOT of money on day care. Guess they don't need or want any new clients. Fine with me. read more

While I appreciate the company reaching out, at this time, I'm not ready to remove the 1 Star, even though I was asked nicely. However, I changed it to a 2 because of the follow up and discount offered. Perhaps providing some solutions before a Yelp review would have helped.. We made it clear those were the dates we needed. We did all of the steps we were asked, then found out it was unavailable. We have already booked somewhere else so we don't need a voucher for future use. Although the other place is much more than we planned to pay, we think it's a better fit for our pups. This review is so future customers know the date may not be available even if they say it is. One of the employees there was flippant to me for no apparent reason. Twice. In fact she hasn't ever been truly pleasant when around me. I've been taking my dogs there for a very long time and decided to leave because the owner would not accept my complaint as valid. I explained in detail how Katie was rude to me and she said that I misunderstood her quiet and timid mannerisms. Today was the second "misunderstanding". I will take my money elsewhere. PetSuites is new in S. Arlington. I took a tour and it's pretty amazing what they offer. The play environments are much cleaner and larger. I'm sure my white dogs won't come home yellow now like from Pet Resort. That was pretty gross. They also one time noticed that one of my dogs got poo on him and they didn't clean it off. Horrible service. There are several kind people that work at pet resort but it doesn't outweigh the ignorance of the owner and her prized rude employee Katie. Sorry Mary... you knew this was coming. Also I'm not the only complaint. I found out this evening through the grapevine. Stop putting your employees on a pedestal and listen to your clients. I will be sharing with my friends not to use Pet Resort. After reading your reply I would just like to reiterate.... listen to your clients. I have many friends that stopped taking their pets to your place because they were not heard and the service was bad. We found an amazing new place that offers so much more and includes a full time groomer. The suites are magnificent for overnights. It's impeccably clean. They all greet you with a smile, unlike your staff. They are highly attentive, unlike your staff and yourself which refuses to listen to who is paying you. You are next to a vet which is convenient for most and people just "deal" with y'all because of that very reason. You wouldn't be in business otherwise. read more

I left a 5 star review about 17 months ago when we had been using Pet Resort for about 6 months for our new puppy. Our Westie is now almost 2 and we take her here for play days at least twice a month and have boarded her multiple times - she LOVES it. She also attended the obedience camp here last year. She and her humans are very pleased with the results. We have a loving, confident, obedient (most of the time - she is a terrier after all) dog. Even during this pandemic scare, we feel secure in knowing she's getting attentive, safe, loving care. Highly recommend this place if you really want the best for your dog. read more

I called and checked on my dog and I have asked for picture twice. they kept telling me the pictures are still in processing.
