He is incredibly smart, compassionate, and truly understands that every dog is unique. He tailored the training specifically to our dog's needs, using a very gentle yet highly effective approach. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with -- it's not a one-size-fits-all method, and that made all the difference. Our dog responded so well to Justin and his training methods. On top of his excellent training skills, he's also a fantastic dog photographer! He captured some beautiful moments that we will cherish forever. (I included some pics he took in this review!) I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled trainer. We would definitely work with him again if ever needed. 10/10 recommend using him.

We were afraid to let them be in the same room together due to the size difference - when they were in the same room, it was basically gladiator warfare! We chose to board and train them together with Justin for two weeks while we went on an overseas trip. We were absolutely shocked at the progress Justin made with them in a few short days. The pups are totally integrated and we are all finally able to relax in the same room together. Until Justin came along, we were sure this was going to be a forever issue. Aside from the integration, Justin really listened to what our concerns were for training and was able to address each and get us moving in the right direction. He approaches training with love and always with the intention of strengthening your bond with your dog and teaching how to behave so that your dog can live it's best life and have as many adventures with you as possible. It's evident that Justin loves his work and loves and really gets to know each dog. We got great updates every day on how things were going and what he was working on with them. He's also an amazing photographer and we have so many gorgeous puppy portraits that he took. Best decision we ever made to use Justin and Modern Dog to help us with our boys. We just got them back yesterday and they are already more calm, having loads more fun and happy boys!

I researched trainers throughout the DFW area for months. Adam & Top Dog was one of the furthest from my residence, but none of the others brought as much experience to the table and offered the techniques needed for our situation. About 4 months after adopting my big boy, he decided that I, and only I, am his person. He began to act unsavory toward anyone else that tried to lead him away from me or anyone that was left in control of him after I walk away. He didn't have a great life before me & the breed is very loyal, so I understand but the behavior is not acceptable. His behavior prevented grooming, boarding, getting a dog walker or any other activity requiring someone else handling him. Given Ozzie weighs the same or more than most of my friends, very few were willing to take him by the leash and help me train him. I needed professional assistance & Top Dog's Board and Train program was the right fit. After appx 2.5 months with Adam, the business location moved from Joshua to Burleson forcing Ozzie to come home before completing the training. His behavior continues. I'm still unable to leave him with anyone except Top Dog staff. But having at least that one outlet provides an opportunity for me to complete the travel necessary in my employment. I hope to finish the training, learn additional techniques and provide my big boy the confidence to go with others without fear. I highly recommend Top Dog.

I have so much to say about Murray's time with Butch and the Cappel Canine team. This entire review…read moresays why we very much recommend entrusting your baby with Cappel Canine. This was our first Australian Shepard dog and like most people over this 14 months we got him during quarantine. I have some basic understanding of training and we watched a lot of dog training shows on TV so we thought we had a good understanding. We played outside with him, walked him and as soon as our local dog park opened we took him there to socialize him. Murray is very intelligent and patient, when he wants to do something or doesn't want to do something. We were starting to have some issues with other dogs and we realized that we are going to need help because this was far beyond what we could handle. We searched all over the internet, thumbtack, groups..etc. We both came across Cappel Canine and my husband watched the videos, read as much as could on Butch and the training the facility. One of the videos talked about walking the dog and connecting the leash to the collar and why he prefers that. Can I just say we have spend over a $100 trying to find and harness, lead or whatever else that would help Murray not pull. I had carpal tunnel surgery earlier this year and I hadn't been able to really walk him on my own because he pulls. My husband said let try it. We tried it and just a few moments of adjustments Murray doesn't really pull. I can walk my dog again, by myself. We called that day and spoke with Butch and he told us what the training would look like and set Murray's 2week stay training. I didn't know what it would be like in regards to actually leaving Murray there. Drop off day was busy and there seemed to be a lot of moving pieces which made me nervous but the staff was very friendly and welcomed us and Murray (even thought Murray wanted nothing to do them, yet). They asked us more questions about Murray, home life and what we wanted them to focus on. I had to take Murray to kennel which would be his new home for 2 weeks because he would let anyone take his leash. He would hide. Even though it was really hard for me to leave him (I have never been away from Murray since we got him) I'm glad I got to take him to the kennel because I saw how spacious it was us, it's covered and it has a back space with a cot for a bed. During the two weeks Butch sent us videos of Murray during some of his training, I had a call with him which made me feel so much better. During our conversations he was so insightful about Murray and made observation and comments that we hadn't even talked about. We we picked him up from "camp" Butch went through all of Murray's training with us and we got to practice it. We were completely blown away on all the things thought during those two weeks. We should be receiving our video today with all training so we can continue the work Butch started. What was a bonus was the bond Murray formed with Butch. We can't thank Butch and the entire Cappel Canine team enough.

By the end of our session, he had taught me how to effectively communicate with my dogs, understanding things from my dog's eyes. I could walk my dog on a loose leash, he became more confident and quickly understood what was expected of him. He taught me how to manage having company over which helped to calm my hectic household. He sat and talked with us, prayed with us. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to continue utilizing his methods.

Not that I had an issue, justcwanted to see what he was about. He, being George the owner didn't show up, he sent his son Frank. I was less than impressed, plus the leash you needed wad priced for one part, the other part was separate. I was stupid enough to purchase it. 250.00 for the session plus the collar/lead. I continues to follow him on Facebook as he moved on to Texas. Just yesterday June 24 he posted a picture on his Facebook of his daughter feeding a stray dog in Texas. They were having lunch somewhere. The daughter was feeding the dog part of their lunch and giving it water. He commented that it was terribly hot and how thirsty the dog was. He said we had to leave him there. Really? A man of God, dog trainer and supposed animal lover and you just leave him to fend for himself knowing this poor dog needed help. You will not get me to believe that there wasn't something you could have done. He also commented how his daughter cried for an hour after this. I can imagine she did. What a horrific thing to do to an animal in need. At first I just commented to his post that I could never have done that and wasn't there anything he could have done to help. No comment from him. I waited awhile and put a review on Google with the rest of his 5 star reviews. It wasn't long until he removed the post about the stray dog and I was unable to get back on his Facebook and still can't, so I assume he either blocked me or made a new Facebook. If that's what he did he's a coward. You put the post on, so let people give their thoughts. Wonder what God( who he says is responsible for giving him the gift of working with dogs) thinks about letting that poor dog just fend for himself. I have absolutely zero respect for this guy S.M

If you're in the market for dog training and are wondering what the best option is, stop looking…read moreNOW and call James with 360 K9 Training. We were skeptical that any amount of training would help with our four-year-old German shepherd mix. The problems we were having were not just with obedience... it was high anxiety, low confidence, slight aggressive behavior to other dogs, and an overall scared and unhappy pup! James was understanding and so communicative throughout the whole process. As well, they offer a consultation to make sure that you meet prior to any agreement (a huge plus in our book!) James not only trains your dog, he trains YOU. He will make sure you have a full understanding of what you are doing and why- this was a HUGE part of our success. You are getting undivided, one on one training with a very smart and professional individual that truly wants to see you and your dog succeed. I have no doubt that James can address any issue your dog may have- he is one of the best in the business. There is a million different ways to describe the results we saw throughout our training process... the easiest way we can put it is that it is a 180 degree turn around. We went from having a hunkering and scared dog (although sweet and loving to just us), to having a confident and obedient friend that we can take anywhere (and I mean anywhere)! We are now other-dog friendly, fully trained on leash and have a newfound trust/confidence that we plan on growing even more and letting our dog experience the world the way she should! If you're second guessing making this decision, stop and call 360 K9- you will not regret it.
