This is the first boarding I used for my dog , Daisy. I was extremely disappointed. I brought a 5LB bag of health science dog food bag for her when I dropped her off. When I came back two days later to pick her up, they didn't have any of her food left . I Was told she got out and ate all of it. They could not find her collar and told me it probably fell off ... How the heck does a dog loosen its collar and loses it? No apologies, no discount. I'm glad my dog came out alive.... I have never gone back! I know the owner is a big supporter of dog events in town... He just has mediocre staff , non caring staff. read more

We decided to try boarding our dog at Happy Tails Pet Ranch instead of the usual place we have taken her because HTPR is closer to our house. Their set up and decor are really cute and welcoming and the employees were very friendly. We were disappointed, though. When dropping her off they didn't have any record of my reservation even though I made it a few weeks before and then also called a couple of days before to confirm. Then when we picked her up after our trip, she seemed to be in great distress when we got home. She went straight to her crate and kept hanging out in there which is unusual for her since she usually follows me around at home and also never behaved that way after staying at Country Cottage Pet Resort (the place we used before). She also developed a bad red yeast infection on one of her paws that we are having difficulty curing. I think that we are going to go back to Country Cottage Pet Resort next time. read more

My wife and I visited the Schlitterbahn one day while traveling through the San Antonio area. After a fall-through with another pet sitter, I called this place early on a Sunday morning and the person who answered (I think he was the owner) said they could take our two dachshunds right away without even needing to provide vaccination records based on the short notice. The kid that took our dogs at the ranch was very friendly and helpful. We even got to pick them up before the designated time! Very flexible and helpful staff! read more

Stay far, far away. They took 7 hours to groom my Maltese and shihtzu. When I picked them up, they both had bloody toes. And these dogs were groomed by the owner, master groomer. (scary, no?)Not only did my dog's have injuries, but the people working, including the owner, did not even let me know about it! I found out by their bloody paw prints all over my car seats. How this place can still be in business is beyond me. Terrible. I would give them 0 stars, but 1 star is as low as it goes. I find it curious, also, that all of the negative reviews aren't even viewable, unless you click on other ""unrecommended reviews". Seems a tad bit suspicious, to me. Save your pet! If I could give this zero stars I would!!! Where do I start with the problems with this place. When I picked up my pets the staff for one could not locate my pets although I provided my own kennel. Over booked I'm assuming. When the staff brought my "pets" they brought me the wrong pets!! I was furious at the fact that they clearly had no idea where my dogs were and what they looked like. After waiting 15 mins they finally had the right dogs. My bf used the facilities and found that the bathroom is used to board pets. After getting home I realized that they never fed my dogs the food i brought them. All my instructions I gave for feeding and care were ignored. I just hope that at least they were fed and watered. My dogs came home and ate their food as if they had not eaten in days, if my dogs could talk I wonder what they would say. I advise Do Not Board Here!!!! read more

My post got deleted. But a year ago I boarded my dog for 2 days and when I picked her up her face was caked in dried and fresh blood. I asked what had happened and they shooed me out the door. I go home and noticed she had 2 teeth turned at a 90 degree angle, I took her to the vet the next morning and she had to get put under to remove the teeth and stitch up a few bite marks. My vet called them and they forwarded his calls, and when I called they had no compassion to even tell me what happened and nerve to tell me it was MY FAULT. They asked me what i wanted to them to do and I told them to contact the owner and have him do the right thing, I have never heard back. read more

Very unsatisfied with the grooming done on my pooch. I am new to the area, so I looked around for groomers. I initially called to see how much for the size of dog I had and they quoted me $30 - $35. So I set an appointment up. When I dropped him off, they said he'd be done around noon and they'd call me when he was done. When 12:30 rolled around, and no call, I called them to see when he'd be done. They said he was done already and ready to be picked up....good thing I called then! When I picked up my dog, he smelled (as if he hadn't been bathed) his face, ears, and tail were not touched, he had a nick on his back end, and the inside of his ears were bright red. They also charged me $43 instead of the initial quoted price of $30 - $35. Never again will I be visiting this place! read more

We took our dog there last weekend. Unfortunetly we were not impressed. It was dirty and smelled. She was sick for 2 days after we got her home.The webiste made it look better then it was. I wish we could of had more time to screen where we were leaving her. We will not leave her there again and have let everyone I know not to take their pets there! read more

I would not board my pet here. Realty does not look like the pictures. I am a local resident and always hear commercials on the radio so I decided to stop in and check them out and possibly arrange for boarding over the holidays. The stench when I walked in was overwhelming. The dog yard was little bigger than the kennel runs. The kennel runs were dank, smelly, concrete cages. It looks like the pound. I would urge you to make a personal visit to the back before you board your pet here. read more

I had a great experience with Happy Tails! We have a high energy husky and a very nervous pit mix. We just picked them up and got them home and the husky is calm and sleepy, so she seems to have had plenty of play time. The pit mix with terrible anxiety is relaxed and in high spirits, and his allergy hot spots look clean and well cared for. Am extremely pleased with this family owned business and we will definitely take our dogs there again! read more

This review is unfortunate for both parties involved and it pains me to write it, but it needs to be put out there for my fellow pet owners. While my parents four cats were being boarded here, my mother's brain cancer progressed to a point that we could not pay the owners. While they did start off being very cordial and understanding, it later progressed to threats consisting of them putting all of our cats in an unknown kill shelter if we did not pay. After a few months of collecting funds from our friends and family we were able to pay our debt and eventually we did get our cats back, but it was the manner in which the owners treated our situation which was alarming- no compassion or understanding....just threats and sociopathic strong arm techniques which only made our horrific situation worse. I know no one can predict tough times in their lives, but I truly hope your pets aren't under this business' control when times do get rough. read more

I dropped my dog off at Happy Tails for two nights while I was out of town. As soon as we brought her home she ate an entire bowl of food and drank a whole bowl of water, which she never does. We called and asked them if she had eaten or had water and they said they weren't sure, they couldn't remember when they checked last. Before we dropped her off we told them that she was not dog friendly, that she had gotten attacked recently and not to put her with other dogs. When we talked to them later they mentioned that she was skiddish with other dogs. When we asked them why they put her with other dogs when we told them she had been attacked they said that whoever we told didnt let them know. Also, we had paid for a room for her because we didn't want her to be stuck in a kennel and when we picked her up they had her in a kennel. When we asked why they said it just made it easier on them. I was severely disappointed and would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more

I have taken my 8 month old German shepherd puppy there many times without issues, but unfortunately this last time we took her she was there for 4 days and on the 4th day we picked her up. She seemed fine at first but when we took her home we noticed she had bite marks bleeding around her eyes and she wasn't eating well, so we took her to the vet the next morning and noticed one of her adult molars had pulled out partly and was laying sideways on her gums, the vet then had to pull it and put her on pain meds. I called the kennel informing them of this and they first off stated she's not allowed to be around other dogs we quickly questioned that because on many occasions they tell us of how good she does playing with the other dogs, and she had bite marks on her face that where very new. Then they proceeded to tell us they didn't notice anything and then said they would call our vet and speak to the onwers and the techs and get back to us, they never called us back, we where very disappointed to not hear back. read more
