August is truly amazing! He answered my call right away when I reached out to schedule an appointment. I have a Siberian Husky, and he's clearly the go-to expert when it comes to this breed. I explained that it had been about a year since her last grooming and that she had just lost her husky brother -- this would be her first visit to the groomer without him. August was incredibly compassionate and made sure Sierra felt loved and cared for throughout the entire experience. He kept me updated during the day, which I really appreciated. After about a month of researching and reading hundreds of reviews, I decided to have my 4 month old golden doodle groomed by The Paw Spa. After realizing how much hatred there is for doodles in general, I was so incredibly nervous to leave her anywhere. But I took the risk and I am so glad I did. Kayla was my puppy's groomer and I immediately felt comfortable leaving my fur baby to be attended by her. She offered a few of her recommendations, with it being my dog's first cut, and also took the time to listen to our requests. The full grooming took around 4 hours. I arrived there to pick her up and she looked fantastic! She wasn't crying or making a fuss when I got there which showed me that she had a good experience with Kayla. I am excited to bring her back! My only issue (rather annoyance) was that this suite is located next door to a cigar shop which makes the entire unit reek of cigar smoke. But again, this is no reflection on The Paw Spa itself as a business, just a minor negative for me. read more

I've gone here a few times and had great experiences until the last time:( I brought my 3 pups in and they were taking a really long time. I called up and the owner said Sweet Pea needed "extra time" because she needed to be hand dried. My husband got them back at the end of the day without a word about issues. When Sweet Pea walked in I noticed her eye was shut. I thought it was pink eye and left a message to warn the owner. When I took her to the vet the next day it turned out she had been badly poked in the eye. It took over a month of meds and she now has a blind spot. It's one thing to have an accident. It's another to keep it from the client. If I had known it was an injury I would have taken her to the ER. I wonder if she would not have that blind spot had we been warned. read more

I have been taking my Saint Bernard here since they opened and I will not take him anywhere else. John is the best! He met Kleetus, my Saint, when Kleetus was about 3-4 months old (before the paw spa opened) and now Kleetus is 10 y/o. John does such a great job. Kleetus is 160lbs of stink, grime, and everything gross when I drop him off but comes home looking like a show dog. I have no idea how John does such an amazing job every time. I've been going to Paw Spa for about three years now. We live down the street and love the convenience of taking them there on the golf cart! My two shelter pups have issues. They have reasonable pricing, awesome staff, friendly people, and I love how they don't crate your dogs. I stopped going to Pets Smart because of how terrible they cut my dogs hair, never listen to what I wanted, and had horrible attitudes. I told the lady that works at The Paw and Spa everything that I needed for each one of my dogs. When I came to pick up my dogs, there was zero problems, and for the first time I had everything I wanted done PERFECTLY. They cleaned their ears, made sure there was no more hair in their little ears, they shave their body perfectly, cut their nails a good length, and came out smelling good!!!! Popped in and brought my buddies German Shepard, Artex in for a quick bath and grooming. The gentleman ( who apparently is also the owner) was super super friendly. He took Atex and too my surprise the usually and annoying jumpy dog just followed John to the back after I got him all checked in. I was also surprised that they had an availability since I had seen people in an out of the place pretty frequently the past few days! I ran a few errands and came back to find Artex looking good. He was calm and actually felt really clean and soft! It really does feel like the owner LOVES the dogs and it comes across in his work. I moved to New Braunfels in October and needed to find a new groomer for Veronica, my standard poodle. When I went to John in November, Veronica was overgrown and matted. She also had some spots around the ears that had been done badly by her last groomer. John did a great job with her and gave me a plan for shaping Veronica's look over the next few visits. He spent much longer with her than was estimated and kept me informed by cell phone so I didn't worry.
