I was a little dubious given the state of her house and yard, both of which were in a high state of neglect. But I was desperate for that weekend, so I dropped them off on Friday. The weekend turned rainy, so I let Sarah know on Saturday evening that I was returning early and the dogs would not be staying over on Sunday nite. I arrived home on Sunday at 11am and called to pick them up. Sarah informed me that she would be home at 3pm and I could get them then. Later, she asked for 3:15. When I arrived at 3:30 ish, she was just getting home. Obviously, she was not home most of the day Sunday to care for the dogs, which is what she was being paid for. She later sent me a bill for the whole 3 overnights amount, $300. When I called her to dispute this, she claimed that I hadn't given 24 hour notice, which I had. But she also became very argumentative. I told her she could have $300 with a review or $250 without one. She did not respond to this and a couple of weeks later, after not hearing from her, I tried to pay her through her website. The website was not working, so I sent her cash through PayPal. I added a note that I was paying this way because her website wasn't working. I still did not hear back from her so I eventually called PayPal to be sure she had received the money, which she had. A couple of weeks later, I received my AMEX bill and saw that she had already billed AMEX for the full amount. And she took the PayPay money as well. Responsible? NO. Flexible? NO Honest? NO I would never recommend this business nor this caretaker. I would worry about her house falling apart and no one being home with the dogs. And I had to block her from calling or texting me. Buyer beware.

He even wrote specific things down which I think really speaks of his character and shows his pride in his business. I knew I could trust him to care for my pup while I was away from home. Mark has a very calm demeanor and friendly personality; very easy to talk to and my dog LOVES him. I am not an easily trusting person so I thought handing over my house key to a stranger would be difficult but it wasn't at all! You'll see when you meet him. I wholeheartedly recommend Mark as a pet sitter. You and your pet will be glad you met him.

I can send my pup there once a week or once a month with their reasonably priced multi-day passes that can be purchased in advance. My dog loves it here too. Whenever we cross the street and get within a few yards of the front door, she goes nuts wagging her tail and practically dragging me to the entryway. The staff are super attentive to all their pups and I love watching their Instagram stories looking for my dog throughout the day. And let me tell you, these people really care about dogs! After my dog was attacked elsewhere by an off-leash dog, I was nervous to send her back to any doggie daycare situation, but I let Park Bench know of my concerns and they kept her in the small dog area on her first day back until they were certain she felt comfortable going into the medium/large dog area and they reported back that she did fine. Despite my initial anxieties, their care and concern for helped me feel comfortable sending her back and getting reintroduced to other dogs after several months of not being around dogs while she was recovering. Another thing I love about this place is its story. My dog has been going there since 2017, shortly after Nathan set up shop on what was then the outskirts of Fishtown proper. It's been exciting to see Park Bench flourish along with the neighborhood itself. Then COVID hit and for a minute things looked grim; we all thought they were going to have to close. But Park Bench was given the opportunity for a second chance thanks to fellow neighbor, Becca, who has kept it going since those tenuous 2020 days. Park Bench is not only a great doggie daycare, but -- sitting mere blocks from the site of Rocky's gym Mighty Mick's -- it's also a symbol of how Philly's grit, resiliency, and neighborhoods can produce a great comeback story.

We are so grateful that we can rely on them for our 2 previous cats. We have specific feeding instructions for them and I appreciate that everyone follows as requested. Importantly, they also try to engage with the cats (who are usually pretty scared) and treat them with love and care (and leave them treats).
