Like the other reviewers said it's always either a 1 star or a 5 star. This place is definitely a five star. The owner was super sweet and is very hard working! The only problem was the language barrier so just know what to say in the easiest way possible. The food was so good as well!! Your typical strip mall teriyaki joint. The service is very fast the staff is polite. You get a decent amount of food for the price. I ordered the Orange chicken and pot stickers and my wife got teriyaki chicken. Both were great and they offered us free soup. All around a great place to grab something fast to eat. read more

We have enjoyed Happy Teriyaki for several years, the previous owners where delightful and the Restaurant was immaculate. I went in there a couple weeks ago. I ordered my food which was difficult because of a language barrier and the Owner was down right rude. As I stood around waiting for my food and wandered around, it was so filthy I should have walked out. The floors were black, from spills that were never cleaned up, have no idea when the windows had been washed or the door. The pop machine was sticky and looked like it hadn't been cleaned ever. The curtains going into the kitchen were from the previous owners, food on them. The area around the cash register and and into the kitchen were black from lack of cleaning, you could literally use a putty knife to scrape it up. I would highly recommend you take a good look the next time you go in. read more

I hate to give places such low ratings, especially since the owners were really nice, but this food is seriously bad. The one star is because they were nice and the place was clean. I ordered the yakisoba chicken, but that is definitely not what I'd call the dish that came. The plate was full of a huge pile of watery, over cooked spaghetti noodles... literally spaghetti noodles, straight out of the boiling water onto my plate. No sautéing, no sauce, no strainer. They were floating in a pool of what looked like chicken broth and were topped with strange strips of some flavorless attempt at chicken. I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce, and got a small bowl of more beige lumpy/watery 'chicken broth' looking stuff. The most flavorful part of my meal was the Sriracha sauce I had to drown the food in to even choke down a bite. It should have been a giveaway when I went in there during the 'lunchtime rush' and there was no one else in there. Not quite sure how this place stays open. Sorry. read more

The food actually was too bad, but the counter person is the most rude person I have dealt with in years. I would have left but the grand daughter wanted teriyaki. He actually spoke all of 2 words, even when I asked for menu clarification..like what katsu or bulgogi were; and those were yelling at us to leave. Not over priced at all! average entree is 6.95 with coleslaw and rice, they have the most authentic ma-po tofu, people come from out of town for it. The Owners are very personable, they remembered me even after a year of me stopping in! There's a lot of competition for asain food in Canby, all of which I like, however the food served here tastes light and fresh. I don't feel greasy or regretful when I'm done. read more

Not bad for Canby! I got the Amy's special which was chicken teriyaki with extra veggies. It was a little watered down (not with teriyaki sauce though, maybe an Asian gravy?) but 4 stars for fresh veggies. Real asparagus cooked perfectly. Grilled chicken. Our starving family ordered teriyaki chicken and shrimp with noodles. At this point we literally could of ate the couch, and if we had it might of taste better than our meal. The chicken was the only reasonably tasting and cooked thing on our plates, and I generously used the word "reasonably". The noodles were over cooked, the shrimp had no flavor, noodles had a slight hint of flavor not enough to swallow it, and the rice was over cooked as well. Worse service I have ever had I literally mean ever!! Most places usually can do half shrimp half chicken if asked for well they don't which isn't a big deal. I was very impressed with the small but clean restaurant. The lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly. I got my food very quickly and it was great. I had the chicken teriyaki with white rice. The rice was cooked well but not gummy and the chicken was moist and delicious. I don't eat alot of teriyaki but I will definitely be back to try more dishes here. read more

The food is great. I've loved everything I've tried there. They are not over priced at all. I really love their egg rolls. You get three when you order and I have a horrible time sharing them with my husband and kids =) The best part is the couple who run the place though. They remember us every time we call to place an order or come in. The woman is very nice to my kids and always do their best to make sure we leave happy. read more

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was awful! Sweet and Sour just some kind of bland red sauce, chicken off tasting and weird texture.

I love this place!!! The sweetest people own this place and the food is really good.
