Love love the food! huge upgrade from previous owners! fast hot and not over priced!

Mongolian Beef & Chicken

Interesting entrance to this restaurant, but felt more comfortable once seated. Service was prompt. I ordered the Mongolian chicken/beef plate as pictured. Food came out less than 10 minutes after ordering. The food was a good portion size & flavor, only reason not 5 stars is because I feel they used too much oil for my Entree.

We have been here twice to try different dishes. The interior hasn't changed much from the last 2 name/management/owner variations. It's comfortable but with an old ambience. The staff seems pleasant but not very friendly and they're not attentive to providing drink refills or coming back to the table for a check in. We were hoping for some more soy sauce and drink refills but our server very obviously took a path around our table each time she passed. The food is served hot and in large portions. The flavor of the dishes is ok. Nothing stood out as very good for us. We chose the hot & sour soup, a large bowl of wonton soup, the Mongolian chicken plate and the sweet and sour pork plate. We have a couple of favorite Chinese food spots and this just didn't rank anywhere near the top of our favorites list. I would recommend giving them a try. They have a large menu with lots of options. There's something for everyone. Depending on what you choose it could end up becoming a favorite for you.

I started ordering from this location over a year ago. The name then was 88 Cafe. Today I looked for them and couldn't find that name online. I had my son find the old menu and order. The food is good. I love the garlic enhancement. It's not too much for me. We ordered Chicken lo mein as well as Beef lo mein. Both were good. Crab puffs, spring rolls and fried rice were good. You won't be surprised or disappointed. It's typical Chinese food. I found the new staff to be friendly. I understand the concern of a previous reviewer. I too saw one older woman yelling a couple of times I came in. I think it was just her way. I will order again from them. They are convenient.

Wonton Soup

Came here on a Sunday night specifically with wonton soup in mind. When I have the sniffles, a steaming bowl of wonton soup is the best remedy. Anyway, of everything we ordered, the wonton soup was my least favorite. That didn't put a damper on the experience, as everything else we ordered was great. Pay attention to the menu though, as our sesame chicken was spicy! My kids gobbled everything and the service was outstanding. We'll be back.

We tried Golden Taste last night. It was only their second day open and we were very impressed! We had the.. - Salt & Pepper Shrimp - Mongolian Chicken - Egg Flower & Hot & Sour Soup We eat a lot of Asian food all over the Portland area. We were incredibly impressed with the authenticity of the food. The salt & pepper shrimp was some of the best I have ever had! When we walked in every seat was filled. Considering that big of a rush they did really well. In addition to the delicious food the staff was amazing. We met Steven and his mother who own the restaurant and they were lovely! We will definitely be back and are very excited to have this little gem in OC!

Big portions, and pretty good food. We order to go a lot and always have plenty of leftovers.

Tried this place when craving Chinese food and ended up disappointed. We like the pork fried rice but everything else was below average.

The dining area was dark and it seemed more of a take out kinda place especially when they are closing with a hour. You may park safely outside and lots of other places to spend your money. I will post pictures of the to go menu. West Linn is a very nice area and this street is perfect. Peace and Many Blessings

I had heard mixed opinions about the place and wanted to judge for myself. Overall, the food ranged from average to slightly below average, fairly typical of a neighborhood American-style Chinese takeout restaurant. The pork fried rice, however, was the weakest part of the meal. It was very dark brown, contained almost nothing besides rice, and had a thick, pasty texture that overpowered the flavor. Fried rice is usually the most dependable item on a combo, so this was surprising. Good pork fried rice is actually one of the simplest dishes to get right: day-old rice, diced pork, onions, peas, scrambled egg, and a balanced touch of soy sauce. When those basics are in place, it becomes a comfort dish people return for. This version felt like shortcuts were taken, which is unfortunate because small adjustments could dramatically improve both taste and customer satisfaction. The restaurant itself has potential, and with a few menu and preparation refinements, the experience could easily move from forgettable to reliable. Sometimes an outside set of experienced eyes can help identify those easy wins that bring customers back through the door.

Buathong Thai definitely makes our top 5 Thai restaurants in Oregon. Do not pass this restaurant…read moreup, you'll regret it! The prices may turn you off at first, $20-$25 a plate, in this economy, eww... BUT Buathong does you a solid by making that $20/plate stretch. Trust me when I say, as a recently pregnant woman, currently breastfeeding hungry madwoman, the plates are easily 3-4 servings per order! This place is amazing like that... Now to the good stuff- the must orders. Pad Thai! Whether you get it with their crying tiger beef or just chicken, their pad thai is absolutely delicious! The dish is always consistent and the flavor board is spot on. I hate super sweet tasting pad thai, and Buathong lays in on the smokey, subtly saucy, perfectly sweet and sour flavors of what a pad thai dish is supposed to taste like. Their thai pho is also cooked to perfection with plenty of melt in your mouth beef cuts. Papaya salad? Refreshing, flavorful, and leaves you feeling guiltless. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. From the amazing food to the friendly service, this restaurant is a no-brained for us when we're in the Milwaukie area.
