He proceeds to show her a song that Taylor was able to sample from someone else. He has regulars that came in. He knew by name and chatted up. Been coming to this record store for over 30 years. Great little store (small layout) with a little bit of everything. Over the years like most places the inventory has moved to mostly vinyl kind of like it was when i first started shopping here in 1988. They stock new releases at the usual price that you find everywhere and used which is still well priced and below what i would expect. Staff of course is fun to talk to and make the shopping experience fun. read more

Owner/Sales Person was very friendly and greeted everyone that came in cordially & cheerfully... The reason we came in this store was because radio reception coming down the I-5 was poor and we needed CD's to play in our car on our way back to PDX...Being that our "youth" was in the 70's, we settled on a Hall & Oats Greatest Hits CD and the Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits CD...it was a perfect drive back up the I-5, reliving our youth... read more

Yeah I was kicked out a couple years ago of the store by the owner. Been shopping there for 30 years. Said I was an interfering with his work I guess holding an album in your hand looking underneath the light is really hard work. His attitude was highly unprofessional I'll never shop there again all these years supporting the turkey and he kicks me out. My dad started taking me to Happy Trails to pick out Beatles records when I was a little kid. I really miss the old store and it's creepy speakers behind shrouds that hung up on the high walls. It smelled like music in that store. The "new" location (it's been a number of years) isn't the same, but the vibe from the people working there is, and the selection is still solid. There is nothing better an Oregon resident can do for small businesses to support this awesome record (and CD and DVD) store. The INTERNET killed the RECORD STORE! Kind of. Though much smaller than it's glory days (pre-internet downloading, stealing, buying of songs), the selection is actually kind of better, in that you don't have to sort through a bunch of unwanted crap. Plus, the service is better, because there's less record store snobbery than there used to be. They will often drop the price without you even asking. I really dig these guys. read more

I like this place and when I used to live in Corvallis, I'd come all the time. But yesterday when I visited for the first time in years, some guy who was working there (but claimed he wasn't the owner) was aggressively rude. I was putting some Lp's that were stacked on top of the new arrivals back into the bin and this made him angry. I think he was pulling them to buy for himself or for resale online or something? Maybe he thought I was stealing them? He grunted, "what are you doing?" Yanked them from my hands and took them to the counter. It was really odd and unpleasant. I left without buying anything. Four stars because it's a great store but minus one for allowing a jerk to mind the shop. read more

The great thing about this place is the man behind the counter. He's friendly, relaxed, and is there to help you find what you need. There are lots of inexpensive records (some for a buck) to look through. It's just a great compact record store. read more
