In my quest to locate cool, lesser known places, I stumbled across Jet Records while searching online and finally had a chance to visit. The store occupies the same building as a jet ski repair shop, which is a little odd to say the least, but trust me when I say that this place is a hidden gem. Specializing in traditional heavy metal, power metal and hard rock, it was right up my alley, and the gentleman that was working on the day I visited was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time go through the CDs they keep behind the counter with me so that I could pick out some sick discs. Indeed, although Jet Records is definitely more focused on vinyl, they also have a small yet killer CD selection and being more of a CD guy I walked away extremely satisfied, picking up new discs from Glacier and Leather Witch plus some used Anthrax and Armored Saint. If you're into old school trad/heavy metal, power metal or hard rock, you owe it to yourself to check out Jet Records.

There was a well curated collection, including titles from Record Store Day. I resisted buying vinyl I saw from The Cranberries, Garbage, Britney Howard, and a Godzilla soundtrack. There were also turntables, speakers, vinyl storage cases, cassette titles, and other items like soaps and candles. Worth a detour if in the area.

The dude that works here is always super cool and happy to give recommendations if you so desire but also smart enough to just leave you be if you're in the mood for browsing through the assortment of CDs and vinyl without interruption. I bought a countless number of new CD's here...and the owner was always happy to order up new or rare copies of discs from bands I liked such as probot, sigur ros, athlete, distillers, old queens of the stone age, kaito and vendetta red...to name a few.... Prices were always reasonable and I even got some free CD's and samplers along with killer deals on vinyl. Music Millennium is the best record store on the entire west coast. Oh sure, I have about 5,000 other reasons, but that's the most recent one. I've yet to pay a visit and walk out without buying at least 3-4 albums. Add the CDs, DVDs, and all manner of other music/movie-related goodness and this place is the gold standard.

A fun decor feature is their display of completed Playmobil sets on shelves around the perimeter of the north side of the store -- some of the sets our own grown offspring had as children. We found a few treasures to purchase, including a fun looking 1000 piece puzzle. The store staff were cordial and helpful, even if they were not going out of their way to greet everyone who came through the doors. One big plus for us, after walking around downtown Corvallis for a few hours, is they have public restrooms available! You have to ask for a key at the checkout counter, but the restrooms are very clean and well maintained; and for those with very small children, there are full-sized changing tables. We often find ourselves being sort of "restroom snobs" when it comes to shops and restaurants; but we find the condition of the bathroom is often an accurate indicator of the rest of the facility. Anyway, The Toy Factory is a wonderful little shop, and I highly recommend it.

I didn't explore outside of Christmas, but there is clothing, accessories, toys, cards, candles, even a case of chocolate! They have a reward program and they'll send you coupons. The employees are very friendly and nice. Overall, Hallmark is the gift shop of yesteryear. It's exactly like those I recall shopping with my mom. While that's not my style, it's an option, and as it's a locally owned franchise, you are supporting a local business.

After today, march 30th, 2026 , i left sickend by the way i was treated by an older woman in a red t-shirt. I have never been so insulted or felt utterly horrified that someone profiled me as a shoplifter. I was there with a dear friend of mine that was shocked at the way this woman snatched an item out of my hands and gave no warning. She stumbled over her words saying she would put it up front for me for safe keeping so i could shop some more. Then she followed me and my friend around the store. There were lots of customers in the shop at the same time we were there. As i stated i was insulted and hurt that someone would impune my character by profiling me and treating me like a common thief.
