Unfortunately, when difficulties arose, the response from leadership felt reactive and unprofessional rather than supportive and constructive. No program is perfect, and all kids make mistakes while learning and developing. What matters most is how adults choose to handle those situations. In our experience, the program fell short in that area.

I really want to give Trout Creek 5 stars, but I just can't at this point…read more They have adopted a drop off/pick up process for the kids that's like being in line at chickfilet. The drop off stresses me out. It is so rushed that we barely get a chance to say goodbye as 2 counselors are taking his stuff out of the car for him, another is ushering him to the field and another is talking to me to check him in and is asking for cards/gifts for him. Not even time for a quick picture and I got a surprised look from the counselor when I got out of the car for a hug. He went to Trout Creek last year as well and it was the same thing then. I sent an email to the office mid-year after receiving a newsletter from them with questions about why they have adopted this process and how cool it would be to actually be able to see the camp!! (No response back.) My kid isn't a big chatter, so we don't hear much about what happens. We rely on viewing the photos they post (thank you!) to learn more about the camp and see what it looks like. It is interesting that they let the kids pick their counselor and their cabin after check-in concludes. If that was figured out ahead of time and cabins were assigned, maybe other parts of check- in could be easier? I did see on their website this morning before drop off that they offered an open house on June 14 from 1-4pm. That's awesome!! A time families can come check out the camp. The only problem is I don't remember any notice of that in newsletters that were sent out or on the registration page. We would have loved to come! All this said, my kid had a great time at camp last year and wanted to come back. I just wish I could recommend the camp and the $350+/week price But without seeing the facilities or really meeting any of the staff - there isn't a lot to go on. But that quickly ended when my husband asked how her skills were going and her coach told him that they had given up on her. He is now almost 6 and ready to start kindergarten. The care and support they have shown our entire family over the years is more than anyone could hope for. They gave him a love of learning, a safe space to grow and learn about himself, to find friends and build social skills, all the while keeping us parents fully in the loop. Sending pictures every day and newsletters every month. They have professionals from OMSI and Firefighters, etc come and visit to further enrich the students and the kids are always having fun while they learn. I'm so happy they are close to us, so we can now give our daughter the same experience. The staff is amazing and they truly do care about the kiddos and even the parents. Love love love this school!

I have never felt more wanted and appreciated as a client for all the right reasons before. In the past, I've always felt like I was being "sold" to or someone wanted my business because the more the merrier. That wasn't the case here. They saw potential in my son and they knew they would be good for him and they were More than helpful in so many different ways in helping me find a way to get him in their class. Budget is an issue for me and they really worked hard with me to find a way to make it work for all of us. None of the other places I checked into were willing to help me out. I cannot say how much I appreciate everything they have done for my son and I, and we haven't even started yet! The one thing I can say about this place is, it is costly. They are the most expensive place I have found, But I have no doubts what-so-ever that they really truly are the Best taekwondo school around. You can see it. You can feel it. You can read about it. You notice it. It stands out above the rest by a long shot. I am very excited to begin this journey with US World Class Taekwondo by our side.

Built in an old paint factory (or something similar), there are two full sized courts and a smaller kids size/practice court. If you haven't played futsal before, it's similar to indoor soccer, but without aid of walls, a smaller court and smaller not very bouncy ball. The emphasis is on foot skills. They have quite a number of adult leagues, which mostly fall into either the male or co-ed variety, as well as some offerings for youth players and pick-up games. Leagues usually last about 8 weeks. Bonus: Brooklyn Park Pub is at the other end of the street.

I'm updating my previous review. I'm giving it less stars only because it just seems as if this…read moreplace is falling into disrepair. One of the fields got new turf, it's pretty nice. The other field has huge gashes in it which have been glued together, two of which are in the goalie box. As a goalie this presents a problem when diving for a ball. Those rough glue spots can make for some nasty cuts on open skin. Also, there has been at "Out of order" sign up in the men's restroom for some months now. The music! What's with the music? It's the same six or seven songs on repeat for the last 6 seasons I've played there! Seriously?! You can't play some internet radio like Songza or something? A new play list? Anything? I don't think the leagues are monitored as well as they could be. I understand we as a team lose a lot of the games we play but there are times we play where it's almost an even game and there are times we play where I think we are playing teams that are two or three levels above us because we just get destroyed. Destroyed like 20 some odd goals AFTER the mercy rule. One more thing, it's really expensive to play here for it to be in such bad shape and not offer anything else. What is all that money going to if it's not going to upkeep? We probably won't play here again next season as there are now other options in the Portland area. I guess I am going for the amenities after all, I want to be comfortable before, during, and after a game.
