I felt like noodles tonight and found Umani noodle bar on Yelp. They have a nice selection of dishes spanning Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese choices. I went with beef yakiudon and Vietnamese egg rolls. I did takeout and brought it back to my hotel. WOW it was done so quickly I mean in. Just 3 or 4 minutes. The aroma in the car was magical, almost distracting. The noodles were perfect! So chewy and the combination of veggies in there was fabulous. It seemed like they skimped on the beef but there was plenty in there. It was a bit mild in flavor but truly enjoyable. The spring rolls were fabulous and really packed with pork and shrimp filling. Great place near the airport! I love finding and trying local businesses in a place filled with chain restaurants. This was a gem! They had many things on the menu, not just noodles but I wanted something that's not too heavy so I got the Wonton noodle and it was perfect. Simple clear soup and wontons with lots of flavor packed in them. Great amount of veggies! The noodle is clearly home made and tasted great. Cute lil spot, with friendly and helpful staff at the counter. You have to place the order at the counter and your given a number stand which you place on your table. I'm guessing everything is prepped and ready to heat up on the skillet because our food was done literally in about 10 min. I'm not a big soup person but I've had some fresh, tasty noodle soups in the past and down to try other places. I honestly prefer to wait for fresh food. This to me was like a quick to go spot or compared to a Chinese food spot, just ok. Just had the worst "common" dish at Umami Noodle Bar in Pooler. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with fried rice. Very common dish. This, though, had to have been the worst Teriyaki Chicken and fried rice I have ever received. The chicken was dry, the "teriyaki" was anything but Teriyaki. It was very watered down and not flavorful... honestly unsure what it was. The fried rice, though, was the worst. It was simply white rice with soy sauce in it. Beware. They may have good noodles, but don't order the teriyaki ... anything.... Also, the air conditioning was not working so it was quite hot sitting in the restaurant in this July heat. If I'm the Pooler area then Umami is my GO TO . The service here is amazing and very fast . The first thing you'll notice is how friendly the workers are here , it seems to me everyone knows the workers and owner on a first name basis . My first time there I remember the workers were asking the take next to us where their missing family member was and how their kids were . This isn't just something they're doing for tips or anything , it seems they genuinely treat everyone here like family . Let's talk about the food , I always ordered the Beef Pho noodle soup , add shrimp , and pork dumplings. Nothing of this meal ever disappointed me . Everything is delicious and me and my wife can never get enough of this place . Now I'm gonna speak from my personal experience here , I always ordered the same thing every time , so maybe it's just my specific meal but it is ALWAYS so fast . This place has a home feeling from the moment you walk in the door. The day after Hurricane Helene cleared, it was a mission to find open establishments due to the power outages and damage. Thankfully Umami was open and so glad too be cause the food was delicious. I ordered the spicy miso ramen with shrimp. Warning! Bib yourself if you have on a light colored shirt/outfit. I slurped all over the place and learned the hard way, haha. It was so worth it though. When we opened our takeout boxes, we saw that there were a couple scallions, a couple pieces of onion, and no other vegetables. I ended up cutting and stir frying vegetables we had at home, which isn't what you want to do when you order takeout. The dishes were also bland. It's hard to tell from the picture, but this is also less food than you'd normally get from similar places. I can never finish takeout meals in one sitting, and I ate my entire dish with no problem. Firstly, calling and putting my order in was so wonderful. The lady on the phone was so kind and informative. When I sat down with my takeout the Smell of my Pho was Such a delight! I was So excited. It was a Delicious pho, hot, ready, and they even had Sriracha in the bag (wonderful!). Now, the crab wontons were Not my favorite. A bit too much breading and not enough of the good stuff. Soooo I really wanted to like this place BUT nooo there was just a lot of things that didn't go right.. they gave us frozen spring rolls the first time and they basically used teriyaki sauce on everything. My yakisoba noodles had to much on it. My friend ordered the pad Thai and she had to send it back because it didn't have enough sauce on it. Stop in for a late lunch with a friend. It was after 2pm and dead. There was a high school age guy in front and Asian gentleman behind the register. When you first walk in, it reminded me of a smoothie shop more then a noodle bar. Neither gentlemen greeted us and just shoveled some menus at us and said we could sit if we wanted too. Ummm... okay. We chose a middle table. The decor reminded me of beach smoothie shop meets Asian hole in the wall restaurant. Mix match tables and clean but not if that makes sense? The younger guy wasn't very pleasant at all. He kept trying to rush us to order like we were wasting his time. When we would ask him about the menu he gave short answers with not very much details. I ordered the rare beef pho with tofu added to it. They charge a $3 extra for 4 small pieces of tofu. And my friend got the flat steak pho. After ordering the kid basically disappeared. Getting a drink refill was ridiculous... basically the service sucks. When the food finally arrived. He practically dumped half my pho on the table and on me. He didn't get napkins or offer to help wipe it up. So after all that we were finally able to taste it. Surprisedly the food was very tasty. I'm happy I ordered the extra tofu because there were only four small pieces of "rare" beef and the rest was mainly the noodles. Don't get me wrong, he was a really nice kid, but he hovered around us awkwardly while we were trying to figure out what order and while were eating . Then, when I actually needed something I had to get his attention. It was a confusing situation. We started out with an appetizer of edamame which was hot and delicious. My husband and I came here and we really enjoyed our food and experience. We were greeted as soon as we walked and informed the staff it was our first time there. We were given paper menu's and sat down until we decided on what we wanted. We walked up to the counter and ordered the Pho Noodle Soup with shrimp and spicy broth, shrimp shumai, shrimp and steak rice dish and Taro and Honeydew bubble tea. Not very umami at all. It's a bunch of Asian noddle dishes done up by amateurs. It's not authentic, it's not very good, it's pricey for what you get. We decided to try this place out after running errands in Pooler one Saturday. It's conveniently located right off Pooler parkway. It is a small place with limited seating. The young lady that greeted us was nice. You order and pay at the counter and then have a seat. We had 2 bowls of beef pho, one child's bowl of pho, egg rolls, papaya salad , and order of fried gyoza, 2 cokes and one bubble tea. Our bill was around $80 after tip My son didn't love the strawberry bubble tea - it was way too sweet. The pho was good but not fantastic. The portions were decent.
