Flock to the wok was pretty good! I definitely enjoyed their dim sum more than their main food but all of the food was still good! The drunken noodles were more of a pad Thai than true drunken noodles and I didn't particularly love the chicken we got but the tofu was delicious! The ambience of the restaurant is pretty casual, it was a little busy and hard to get a hold of our server at times but the server made some great recs! I thought the ambiance was very unique and the service was pretty good. I thought the food was solid where the dumplings were amazing and the hot and sour soup had so much flavor with a little bit of heat. The only thing was I felt that the drunken noodles wasn't really drunken noodles and it tasted more like pad thai. The other entrees were solid and packed with flavor. Overall, I would come back here again but I would get the dumplings and most of the appetizers and get one or two entrees. read more

I decided to try this restaurant while visiting Savannah. Located in a busy part of the city. When I went, there was a wait of maybe 20 minutes. I put my name on the list and just waited outside because there was nowhere to wait inside. 20 minutes at come and go and I haven't received a text or anything I decided to still wait. After a little more time I just decided to check on the list to see how long the weight will still be. And the guy immediately sent me. Which made me feel like he completely forgot about me being there, although I was standing outside the restaurant. I dying solo. I just decided to get the Mongolian beef as well as the chicken, spring rolls and fried rice. The food was OK. I think I'm used to Mongolian beef having a more sweet taste to it. This Mongolian beef was a little more peppery. My waitress did not check on me very much so I only had watered the one time. I had to ask for more water when I asked for my to go box. It wasn't busy inside. I just think she wasn't really paying attention to me. So in the back of the restaurant, there is a lounge called the Peacock lounge. It was busy from people walking in and going towards the back to access to lounge, but not the actual restaurant was super busy. I would go back to try a different items. Fantastic food, fantastic service and the ambience was cool. Sleek and Vibey 100% solid five stars. Order the general taos chicken and the Mongolian beef as well as the soup dumplings and the pan fried dumplings solid five stars for this local Savannah joint. On a dark, wintry night in Savannah, we stopped into Flock to the Wok for a quick, standard Chinese dinner. Maybe our expectations were low, but this was some of the best Chinese food we've ever had! We started with garlic string beans, and the beans were cooked perfectly, still crisp and not too oily. The steamed vegetables were also well done - crisp and not soggy. I got the shrimp fried rice - large plump shrimp mixed with rice and diced veggies, well-seasoned, and the perfect amount for one person. Also got an order of shrimp shumai - cooked just right so the skin wasn't gooey and the shrimp was still plump and firm, not mushy. Sometimes you just need plain old Chinese food, and most times it's done sloppily by a local carryout. But Flock to the Wok takes it to another level, with care and attention to detail. Had a great time with some friends here for dinner. We chose to get a handful of things to share family style. We got the edamame, spicy pork and soup dumplings. All were SO tasty For entrees we shared - kung pao chicken 3/5 Japanese pork fried rice 5/5 Spicy braised tofu 4/5 Mongolian beef 5/5 I wished they tossed the peanuts in with the dish so it was coated with sauce and it didn't have a lot of flavor. Mongo was one of the best I've had, it had thin crispy pieces that were so delicious! We also shared some nigori sake ($35 per 330ml) which I thought was a bit steep but it was good quality. The cocktails were unique and tasty as well! Our service was good for the most part, we got our drinks and food quickly. This was a random find during our trip to Savannah. I was looking for something spicy and hot as it was raining outside. This restaurant hit the spot. It's got a casual but well decorated look. They have some really nice comfy couch seating and a few tables and chairs as well. It's a fairly small restaurant but food and service is really fast. I got the veggie spring rolls. They were nice and crispy and didn't feel too oily. I also go the braised spicy tofu as my main. It was really well seasoned and came out fresh and hot. Wow! We popped in here in our travels walking around Savannah, they seemed busy which is usually a good sigh! They were indeed very busy with a 40 min wait so we decided to just get a meal to go! Put in our order and came back about 20 min later to pick it up. We got General Tso chicken, and egg drop soup, with white rice. I went to Savannah to celebrate my friend's birthday, and she wanted to go to "Flock," her favorite restaurant, for her birthday dinner. I loved the location's aesthetics and the glass wall, allowing you to look into the kitchen. To start, we had their Fried Calamari. It was perfectly crispy, and the sweet and sour sauce was fresh and delicious. We also had dumplings and pan-seared dumplings. I'm usually not fond of traditional dumplings due to their texture, but they were delicious. For my main, I had their Lo Main with pork. The Lo Main had great flavor, and the pork was nice and tender. One thing I didn't like about the noodles was that they were cut, but they were delicious overall. Overall, I enjoyed Flock To The Wok. In Savannah and we had a craving for Chinese cuisine. Flock to the Wok is part of the Rhino Hospitality Group, a management group with a stable of very good restaurants. Flock to the Wok is near downtown Savannah. The restaurant was fairly well decorated. The food was made quickly and well sauced, perhaps over sauced! We were served our entree within 7 minutes of ordering. We ordered 6 steamed pork dumplings in a spicy sauce. The dumplings were soft and tasty. The General Tso's chicken with broccoli and steamed white rice was our entree. The meal arrived very hot. The delivery was incredibly quick and left doubt as to it being pre-made and only assembled once the order was placed. The chicken was tangy and had a bite but not any different from a fast food Chinese chain store. We had expected a nice sit down meal but we're out of here in 35 minutes. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived but that quickly changed as we were leaving. The food was decent but we had not expected it being FAST FOOD. I must of mis judged the environment and type of restaurant we were frequenting. The food was enjoyable but did not meet our expectations. A magnificent hidden gem in the middle of Savannah. Because it's located in an off street - it's super affordable. Nothing fancy - but fantastic. Of course you gotta start with soup dumplings. The broth itself had a nice fresh Asian white pepper. That was the secret - the dumplings had a nice combo of chewy and crispy. The freshness factor was high. The server helped and served another table that sat after us after we had been waiting for them to clear a table. Mind you host had cleared the table ten minutes prior and we just stood around until a server seated us. Immediately after seating us they sat a table right next to ours and immediately gave them menus so they could order. By the time the server came around with our drinks which took a good 10 minutes to do, I guess they had to made the Coca Cola by hand, the adjacent table was already getting their food. Which really confused me seeing as they were sat after us. The only good thing was that once we placed our order the food came quickly. The second issue we had was that there were only four of us. So tell me why she charged us a "large party required gratuity of 20%" THERE WERE ONLY FOUR OF US. When did that constitute a large party. Even on their menu it says "20% gratuity will be added to parties of 6+." Now I'm no math genius but 4 is less than 6 that I am sure of. I didn't make a fuss about it because #1I never saw our server again. #2: it was torrential rain outside and I just wanted to go home. If a business thinks they can do understand business practices and maintain their clients they must be stupid. You will have to park around the corner or further. Pretty decent food overall. I was looking for rice, veggies, and chicken (gluten free). They are able to make dishes gluten free. Ate it twice while visiting. The 1st visit the brown sauce was exceptionally delicious. The 2nd visit, it did not taste the same, but it was still good. My only complaint would be the inconsistency of the taste of the food. I like the public view of the kitchen. The place was also clean inside with friendly customer service. It is Christmas Eve and we wanted to go out for Chinese Food. I saw this restaurant listed online and made a reservation. The listing online said that if you did not keep your reservation, they would charge you so we figured it was a fancy restaurant. It was not! We ordered the braised tofu and we asked for it not to be so spicy, but it turned out to be very spicy. We also ordered vegetable fried rice, which is very tasty. We waited half an hour for our food.
