We scheduled our tasting right after viewing the banquet room again to figure out where all our decorations would go and how the center pieces would look on the tables. The staff was so accommodating in helping us and giving us great suggestions. We then moved into the club room for our tasting. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining what was going to be included with our tasting. The presentation of the meals, was just perfect! Recent servers for us included Gina, Ella, and Mylie who were all amazing. Last year one young lady (I'm sorry I don't remember her name now) saved my elderly mom's life with the Heimlich maneuver when my mom was choking! The food here is always delicious and if something isn't right, they'll go out if their way to fix it. The flowers everywhere are SO beautiful and well kept... a feast for the eyes! The course is in fantastic shape and in a picturesque setting. The autumn foliage was still present and many holes were simply breathtaking. Oh but those hills! I am 64 and in good shape. I always walk and push a cart. Next time I will definitely rent an electric cart! I was nearly exhausted by the end of 18. The woman in the golf shop was super friendly and super helpful! A true people person whose love for golf and the course were obvious. One of my favorite courses in Connecticut. I will definitely be back!

Westwoods is consistently one of the most crowded courses in central CT. Perhaps it is the…read moremunicipal greens fees or the ease of the course but I've never played 9 holes in 2 hours or less. The course is in okay shape, nothing to write home about. It seems pretty obvious to me that they did not have enough land to make an 18 hole course but more than enough for 9 so they just made the course 70% par 3's. As such the 18 hole course has a par in the low 60's. Despite the low par I suppose it is target golf. The course is somewhat tight on some of the longer holes. If your irons are off do not expect to score here. The management is pretty friendly--recently I struck up a conversation with the pro while paying and later on in the day he stopped to give me a few free pointers. If you're in a hurry then skip it but if you haven't played in a while and want to feel good about your score then it's not a bad option. Pretty cheap too!

It was not a very large course, as every hole was stationed immediately right next to another and the average par was about 2. It seemed as though while they have a good chunk of land for the driving range, they took about 20 yds by 5 yards of land and said, "alright let's turn this aisle into a mini-golf course". I will say though, that the green was in great condition. There were no 'natural' obstacles (dead squirrels, bugs, twigs large leaves, etc.), no tears on the green, therefore pretty much leaving us to our own putting vices! You can grab your ball on the 18th hole, so if you get there early enough with a big group of people (5+) you can play out of order and not worry about losing your ball on the 18th. Anyway, I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for some mini-golf action, although there are better options about 35 minutes west of here. But since the entire course is right in front of you, I think it's a great course for families that need to have a close eye on their children.

It made the experience so much more fun, and we learned along the way. Very intimate setting with only two greens. You could rent out one for up to six players for $50 each hour, or both for a bigger party! They have many options - you could strictly do the driving range or choose from courses with varying difficulty levels. After each swing, it lets you know your stats. They also have clubs available if you do not have your own. With two televisions inside, you do not have to worry about missing any of the sports games either. I also loved that it was bring your own food and drink. There are so many great restaurants within walking distance that offer take out - we ordered some apps from 75 Center (I recommend).

This was one of the smaller indoor golf facilities I've been to, but it felt cozier and less intimidating because of it. My fiancé and I are beginners, and his mom plays more often, but we all had fun! There were plenty of different courses to pick from that are fitting for a range of skill levels. I really appreciated that they provided takeout menus from nearby restaurants and provided a nice area where you can spread out some food, sit, and relax. We were able to rent their golf clubs for free, and the hour and a half rental time was perfect for the 3 of us. This was a great winter activity, and we'll be keeping it in mind for the summer too if we want to stay out of the heat!

I can't believe I'm writing this…read more.. Something big has occurred here within the last four months. Did they change superintendents? Did they start paying the grounds crew a living wage? Did they sprinkle magic fairy dust about the entire property? Whatever happened, what was once the undisputed laughing stock of Connecticut golf is now a genuinely serviceable, pleasantly inexpensive golf experience. Walk the course for $20 after 1PM on a Saturday, or $35 with a cart. Does it get better than that when the golf course you're playing on doesn't make you want to vomit? It's like a different place altogether. The fairways are now covered in actual grass. The greens putt consistently and at a proper speed for amateur golf. The tee boxes are decent, and the sand traps have actual sand in them! Even the two putting greens near the clubhouse are pleasant and well-kept. You may hereby ignore all detailed descriptions from my previous reviews. What are you, and what have you done with Western Hills?

Peyton worked tirelessly throughout the event to help orchestrate everything and make sure every detail came together perfectly. No matter what we needed, they never told us "no" - they were incredibly accommodating and genuinely cared about making our vision happen. The food was fantastic, everything ran smoothly, and the room looked beautiful. Overall, the event came out even better than we could have imagined, and we are so grateful to the entire team for helping make it such a special and successful day.
