Veggie Bingo runs in the summers each and every Wednesday night. They get a huge crowd with the inside packed to the brim and the outside patio area full, too. Best part is all money they collect from the night goes to some local green organization. Woohoo. On the night we went, Ratso and Chica-GoGo were hosting. Loved them! Candice fell in love with a rat that night and I'm sure they are now set to wed, but if they ever break up, I'm going to be waiting in the wings. He was full of corny vegetable jokes galore! They had some fun cool prizes a bit better than when I used to play with my Grandma and her friends for boxes of kleenex & candles. The coolest part? These two adorable kids walking around handing out hot dogs provided by Hot Doug's. I wasn't sure what to expect but they were pretty standard dogs (like the others mention, full of meat) but one of those bad boys in my mouth satiated my hunger. Truly had a real fun time with buds, beers, beef & BINGO!

Veggie Bingo- where you buy Bingo cards and try to keep up with the fast and furious calling of Ratso and the Chic-a-go-go crew (or other cool local Chi-lebrities), grab a not-so-veggie hot dog donated by Hot Doug's (and sometimes brought to your table inside with two kinds of mustard from some helpful kiddos), drink 16 oz. Tall Boys of beer or Mike's Hard Apple Cider, and win some cool prizes! Thanks to Ericka A. for gathering the Yelp tribes here again. She don't play around, with that 12-card Bingo fever! I played my six cards for $10, and won a nice assorment of prizes and the attached Veggie Bingo screen print. The grand prize winner won a huge bounty of locally harvested vegetables, and the mood is fun, and even kid friendly. I had some friends playing on the patio, and that seemed like the place to be- nice weather, quick access to the dawgs, and nice weather! I hope to make it here again in 2014 (Veggie Bingo is every Wednesday after work in summer, y'all), cuz I've got dabbin' fever!

This place is anything but cranky old men complaining about the war. My first experience here was completely surprising. I came for the Friday fish fry with my father and the nugget, who was a baby at the time. During Lent, this place is PACKED with people on Friday nights. I could not believe it. While waiting for my fish to arrive, I got a glass of wine at the bar. I thought I misheard the price...nope I didn't...it was soooo cheap compared to a bar or restaurant. After I bit into a nice meaty piece of fried fish, I was hooked (buh duh cha). The fish fry continues all year long...not just during Lent. Don't like fish, no problem. They have Italian Beef sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried shrimp. The price of your meal also includes coffee, and cake for dessert. You can't go wrong. Don't forget to bring some cash for the raffles. They usually do a 50/50 raffle, and some other thing. For Valentine's Day there was a delicious pork dinner and a band. For St. Paddy's they do a corned beef dinner. High suggested! Tuesday is Bingo and Thursday is wing night. There is almost always something going on here. Check it out!

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was handling and just overall grumpy. I can understand that doing separate checks for a large group might not be fun, but she just seemed irritable the whole time until we gave her a decent tip. She directed us to get our own water from the self-serve station. I did like that I could do the wine flight from the table vs. they only offer the 6 wine tasting from the bar. I was a little disappointed that no one explained which wine was which, and I was left guessing when I ordered all sweet wines and a couple that looked very similar. When I later wanted to order a glass, I apparently picked the wrong one, but none of them were horrible so that was OK. I also ordered the small charcuterie plate, which was a perfect snack plate. Some of our party ordered flatbreads and wraps, which also looked really good, so I would definitely try this place again. This place doesn't seem like they're that good at accommodating large groups as they only have small round tables they had pushed together, but we made it work. They seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. If you like sweet wines, my favorite was the Sweet Purple Lady, followed by Blackberry. I took a bottle home.

I did realize this was one of them when I told my friends, 'hey, lets check out this new wine bar', since the sign outside said 'wine bar'. It really is a strip mall gaming storefront, more than a bar. There is a bar inside, but then the rest of it feels like a sad little casino, except not that nice. They had an area in the front, with several slot machines. They had about 10 short tables of 4 in the back, to play bingo. They had god-awful vegas carpeting on the floor. There was no music playing. The place had a smell to it. I met friends at 5:30, hoping to enjoy a few glasses of wine and catch up. They had a wine menu and a drink menu, but their liquor selection looked sparse. Also, the bartender had to pull out the printed recipes in order to make any of the martinis they had - which were not good, trust me! She made my friend her martini, but accidentally used grenadine instead of pineapple juice? WTF?? They don't have a kitchen, but they did have a crockpot of homemade meatballs, for their bingo meatball special - $5.00 gets you a meatball sandwich, chips, and a cookie. We finished our not well made drinks and decided to go somewhere else. If you are looking to play slot machines, I guess I'd tell you to check this place out. But really, every single restaurant and bar you go to in the SW burbs has them, so this place is really nothing special.
