Recently (June 28th 2026) I attended the Odyssey for Sunday Brunch to celebrate an 80th birthday. Much to my surprise the Brunch was held downstairs, and not in the usual banquet area. There was no prior warning regarding the need to walk down a lot of stairs for anyone where this would present a challenge. After making it down the stairs, the first impression of the banquet room was not appealing! The entrance to the venue where I'm accustomed to the brunch being held is very elegant and classy. The room appeared as an after thought as I was told by a worker that they were having an event upstairs in the usual room where the brunch is held. We were seated quickly, which was the only positive. We never had a server greet our table and was never offered champagne, which is customary. The glasses remained empty. Empty plates were left to pile up on our table and we had to flag someone to clear them. The array of food was extremely limited, cold, and in some cases dry and overcooked. The person at the omelet station had a hard time keeping up with the demand of people waiting as she had no help. In the past it's usually been at least two people cooking omelets. The food and venue have great potential and ive always enjoyed my experience, but the lack of attentiveness and poor organization severely impacted our 80th birthday celebration! We definitely did not receive the level of service expected and previously received at this price point. in addition, the 20% pre added service charge was not earned, which by the way was the only time the server appeared, which was to present the check! read more

Honestly the one star is a stretch! We went here for my mother's birthday and had Sunday brunch, the venue is beautiful and it's great for weddings but as for the brunch it's barely golden corral worthy. The food was cold, rubbery, and we even had to ask for them to refill the fruit. The casserole was hard and wouldn't even cut. The eggs were honestly disgusting . The complementary breakfast at a low rate hotel would be comparable. This is a pretty expensive brunch for the quality. Honestly the only good thing was the mimosas (but u can't really mess that up), and the server who was wonderful her name was Silvia, she was kind and very helpful. I honestly feel bad that she had to work this brunch. The guy at the host stand was ignorant, he was yelling at the poor host who also was wonderful and had a very kind personality. He was just sitting there laying into her like she was doing a bad job when in reality he was the problem. When we asked for more fruit he had attitude and was in the restroom complaining about how late he had to work the day before. This just truly was a very disheartening experience. We were seated at a longer table which was two square tables pushed together so my poor sister had to sit there with her legs spread because of the legs in the middle of the table. Tables were left unbussed and dirty. We were sat next to a window that was blazing hot, significantly hotter than the rest of the area. Literally covered in sweat by the time we left. Omg.. The Odyssey. My wedding was on 6/10/23 and my reception was here. My reception was in the west ballroom. This place was amazing from beginning to end. I started planning in 2020 and worked with Stacy for the whole process. Stacy was amazing. She was always patient and answering all my questions. The food was good and nicely season. I still have family telling me how good the beef tips were. We had chicken, beef tips, broccoli cheddar soup, cesar salad, green beans, mash potatoes and mostaccioli. I had no complaints in regard to the food and drinks. My only downside was I was REALLY looking forward to the petit fours that were provided, but while making my rounds and speaking to guests, the servers cleaned our sweetheart table off and didn't box up the dessert . My only suggestion is don't clean the couples table off unless asked. Overall, I recommend them. read more

Loud clanking plates echoing off the walls makes any event LOUD!! I was here for a professional women's network event and it was unanimous how horrible the experience was at my table. The The food had the same sauce on the chicken as the vegetarian pasta dish. You had to beg for more water at your table. The acoustics made it difficult to hear the speaker. If I could give this place one star I could. Got married recently here and it was nightmare after nightmare. When first visiting the hall, Kristina took all of our choices for how we wanted our wedding to be, only to find out that she had saved none of it and required us to come back multiple times to repeat ourselves about our selections for appetizers, dinner, and set up of tables. This place also snuck in upcharges left and right. Kristina also tried to coerce the bride of the wedding to use money we saved towards another item on her list by whispering "get more money out of her" to the mother of the groom who was assisting with payment of the wedding. Kristina falsely accused me of "making her cry" and dropping curse words at her when I hardly spoke at our final visit. This was because she was not willing to accept that I had already gotten approval from her boss that I was able to bring sweets from outside. This put a strife between me and my own family as it became a "he said, she said" environment which became not only nasty for us, but for our family and friends who were involved in the matter. I wouldn't ever come back here even if it was free. Horrible service from Kristina, the feeling of being taken advantage of, and the laziness with remembering requests was the worst experience I have ever seen. 9.9.2033 The venue, The Oddsey in Tinley Park, nice but I was a bit disappointed. Once the reception started they did NOT have a venue supervisor on hand. The women's and men's bathrooms were not large enough to handle 3 events at one time. Paper towels, toilet paper every where, water or other liquids on the floor making it slippery, toilets in the women's room were backed up, sinks in the men's room backed up. This was not a cheap wedding by any means, and for what the bride and groom paid, the bathrooms could have had an attendant or someone who could address the issues. *Note: I did not use these bathrooms, I was told how bad they were. read more

What can I say? I held my DIL's bridal shower at the venue today. The experience went beyond my expectations. The wait staff was extremely professional and set up a beautiful sweet and candy table. Crystal tended bar and was so incredibly kind and professional. The manager Adam was amazing! He was available for every need ranging from questions about food to lighting to grabbing us extension chords and anything we needed. The room was GORGEOUS and the food was fresh and delicious. We paid almost twenty thousand dollars for this venue. We had the family style wedding the people who serve the dinner were the most rude People they told us when we paid them the money. It was 2 hours serving time when I called to complain, she said I was only a hour in a half. as they put the food on the table they took it back and I really believe because we were black. They thought that we were stupid and they could treat us any type of way. I went to the manager at the time to complain. And he tried to make a Fool out Of me period now, he said that he could not make plates, but he gave the bride and groom food that had been sitting for hours. My husband and I got married at The Odyssey this past June. We had our ceremony at the West Gazebo and our reception at the West Ballroom. The whole month leading up to our wedding day, I was so nervous that we wouldn't be able to have our ceremony outside at the gazebo because it might rain. However, It was a picture perfect day and our photos turned out absolutely gorgeous agains the Odyssey background. We received so many compliments from our friends and family about our gorgeous venue. All of the event specialists have been a true pleasure to work with. I was a nervous bride with many questions but they were always so kind and prompt with responses. They definitely made wedding planning so much easier. They helped me take care of so many details - food, linens, decor, lighting... I especially loved that they were able to help me set up our place card/gift tables, since I didn't have a wedding planner and didn't want to trouble my family. The tables looked amazing! The banquet manager during the day of the wedding was also so attentive. I really have no complaints about The Odyssey. I'd highly recommend them! read more

This review is just for the Sunday Brunch...it is not for the golfing events or wedding banquets available at Odyssey. The Sunday Brunch interested us because we are looking for a brunch place for a large group at Easter...but now we don't think the Odyssey Country Club will be our choice. When we were there the main banquet room upstairs was under renovation so the brunch was held downstairs in a smaller room...one with beautiful views of the golf course. The food was ok...nothing great but certainly ok. There was a nice selection of breakfast food (all the usuals of eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs Benedict and a to-order omelet station), lunch choices (herbed chicken, tilapia, short ribs, etc. including a carving station for ham and beef), a fruit and salad section (with a nice roasted butternut squash salad), and a dessert table for those with a sweet tooth. All in all the selections were numerous, but the food was just ok. We got there around noon in the 10 am to 1:30 pm brunch time...the tilapia was sort of dried out, the English muffins underpinning the eggs Benedict were dry and stale, the omelet station is very nice as you get fresh goods and made to order, the meats at the carving station were just ok...a small roast for beef and a ham without its bone so you know it had been processed. The desserts were ok - especially the carrot cake - but the rest seemed right off the shelf at GFS or Costco. There is a full service bar for those that want to imbibe. Service among the waitstaff was just perfunctory...for example, no one ever offered to refill my SO's orange juice. Other than that they did a good job of removing plates as needed. I think part of the problem is the amount of people eating at the brunch has sort of slacked off...there just aren't enough people moving through to guarantee that the food selections are turned over and replaced often enough to keep everything fresh. This review is for the Sunday brunch. Meh.....$30 for the champagne brunch. I was here once before, probably 10 years ago. Then again this past Sunday. Brunch is held downstairs, and the room is beautiful. There were probably 25 rounds of 6. We had a 10am reservation - not that you needed it. We were there over 2-hours and the room was never 1/2 full. I think there were only 2 servers pouring coffee, refilling water, and refilling the mimosas. The server came to our table twice, and we never saw her again. We had to ask two bus-boys for our check, since she was nowhere to be found. The food was ok. Kind of a small-ish brunch, nothing was impressive. The cream of chicken-rice soup was almost a broth, with no chicken or rice, but the flavor was good. The only fish they had was salmon. The beef at the carving station was cooked to medium-well. They did have an omelet and waffle station. The dessert table looked pretty, but nothing was great. Honestly, I would not go back. I had my daughter's wedding there.Her colors were crimson and white....so was Odyssey's well groomed lawns of flowers. just a coincidence. Food tastings was good and so was the 300plus wedding reception. I was busy with the cameramen and so I only heard that the appetizers were phenomenal....nope ....missed that. I will start with the good; the venue is stunning, but.... the fountain was broken... The room they have was great to have. That's all I have to say. Everything else beyond this was extremely unprofessional. While making our grand entrance (aka the bride and her dad and the bridal party) had to move to allow for a golf cart through. I'm sorry you can't wait? Your golf game is more important then someone else wedding date? In the future, it would be a good idea to have a worker stop carts from doing this, or tell your golfers to not do this. I understand they paid for a golf game, but our bride and groom paid for WEDDING DAY. After the ceremony, the doors were locked for us to get in. After running to the other side of the banquet hall four times, I realized the individual sitting next to the bar entrance doors were.... employees, who watched us struggle to open the doors. How rude are you to watch a bridesmaid struggle and RUN? One of whom was pregnant. Upon returning the key, I was informed the individual working the bar was a manager. So highly unprofessional and disrespectful. I would recommend thinking twice before having your wedding here. Also, the person who is hired(?), works for(?) the venue was not there the day of the wedding leaving the bride to fend for herself and answer all the questions she did not know the answer too. I attended their brunch on Sunday August 15,2021. The waitstaff was minimally attentive. I asked for iced tea with lemon and was brought ice tea with no ice and no lemon...and it took 3 requests to get ice.. One friend at my table asked for a Virgin Pina Colada and never received it and finally just cancelled it because she was done eating. The eggs were cold, the bacon was cold, the turkey sausage was cold, the Sirloin was cold....and did I say the waitstaff was nowhere to be found? My husband and I just had our wedding and wedding reception here this past weekend. It was absolutely wonderful! The grounds are nicely kept and the scenery is beautiful! The only thing I would change about the outdoor ceremony would be the golfers and the golf carts. They were a little dangerous on those things and didn't really seem to care there was a wedding going on. The reception was very smooth. We did a family style dinner and the food was delicious! Open bar was fully stocked and the bartenders were very nice. The wait staff was very quick and super nice! especially Rita! She helped us at the head table. The event coordinators were very helpful with anything we needed. Any question we had they answered it from the day I stopped in just to look at the place up until the very last hour on our wedding day. The room was beautiful and fit our theme perfectly. First, the venue was decorated for Christmas and looked gorgeous. Pictures we've received thus far have been amazing. Came here for a wedding, so I only have what I remember to write about. The ceremony was outside and was very lovely; in a little gazebo on the water (how romantic). The reception area was also very nice, the bridal party had a table literally as long as the room and there was still room for dining and dancing. Which brings me to the downside, the food. It wasn't bad, but I don't need to eat it again. The steak was a little dry and the chicken tasted like it was just cooked in the soup they served. Color me unimpressed. But the bartenders were on point and kept it quite real, which is really all you actually need fro a wedding. Let's be honest, people only eat the food to be nice. I was very disappointed in the selection on Mother's Day. We had a 2:30 seating and when I went up to get fruit there were only 2-5 pieces of honey dew left. Also, noted my shoes were sticking to the floor as I walked through the fruit/dessert section. We had 3 waitresses come to our table and ask to get our drinks after this had already been done by the first waitress who wasn't sure what type of soda they had. There were 18 of us at Odyssey Country Club Santa Brunch 12/15/2019 and it was wonderful! Food was amazing and so many options to choose from. The servers were right there to take care of our needs. I knew the second I got engaged that I wanted to have my wedding at Odyssey! I had been to beautiful weddings there in the past and they made all my dreams come true! The staff was SO prompt and thorough with us, and they made booking our reception a breeze! They are definitely experts at making it easy on brides! Everything was easy to manage and I loved how we got a wide variety of choices for table settings/colors/themes. The ballroom was GORGEOUS when I walked in on my wedding day, they did such an amazing job fulfilling my vision! It looked better than I had even imagined!! The country club itself is absolutely beautiful even in the end of October. The food is delicious (we did the family style chicken, beef and polish sausage w/sauerkraut). The wait staff did a superb job tending to our guests and the bartender was very generous with our drinks. My dj even said he loves doing weddings there. I have been to multiple weddings at other venues since then and none of them even compared to odyssey! Truly the classiest venue, and I highly recommend!!! read more

The only redeeming quality is that they have Pepsi as their soda (which by the way was extra and was not told that until we got the bill). My wedding was supposed to take place at this venue September 25th 2020. But due to the pandemic my fiance and I knew we will have to cancel for that date. So I reached out to the venue to request a refund because there's no way we can gather in over 200 people by September 25th 2020 and have the wedding that I would like. The contract I have with them I have to pay for 200 guest which is around $15,000. As of today they've received more than half my payment for the wedding. And they refused to give me a full refund. They say they get to keep $2,000 because I'm canceling. But I'm only canceling because there's no way the wedding will be able to take place due to the Coronavirus. Their concerns are not about the safety of their guests. Their concern about making money no matter the cost. And I just never understood why would you try to take $2,000 from someone and you haven't serviced them at all. I even offered to allow them to keep $500 which I felt is more than enough to compensate them for their time. The time they spent writing up the contract and answering my calls when I need a question answered about my event for that day. They feel they should be able to keep the $2,000 because I'm canceling. But I'm actually forced to cancel. And I also I told them I haven't been to work since March when our governor put our state on lockdown. But they still didn't care. Whichever way they can make money they just trying your best to make it. They don't care who they take from. So I really feel that's bad business. I understand people are in business to make money. But when you just taking someone money and you haven't serviced them at all that's sad. And for you to do it at a time when people really need their money for food and shelter during a pandemic. So far so good. My fiancé and I chose to have our wedding ceremony and reception here. My best friend had hers here 6 years ago and it was BEAUTIFUL! We chose The Odyssey because of the option the have the ceremony outside and the cost. They have a beautiful gazebo area and the cost person was cheaper than most places that in my opinion, wasn't as nice. So far the staff has been great to work with and I'm happy with our choice. I booked a party of eight for a Mother's Day brunch celebration at this location. We had reservations for 10 AM and arrived bit earlier and were seated at 9:45 AM. We waited for my son and his wife to show up and we all approached the buffet line at approximately 9:55 AM. Thirty five minutes later I am approached by a waiter who tenders me the bill with a 20% service fee added on the the $55.00 charge per patron. 20%? No problem. I understand that the people employed in the hospitality industry have gone through a lot and I have absolutely no issues with the 20% tacked on as a gratuity / service charge (I hope it was a gratuity and not a service charge. I hope the staff really does get this charge distributed to them). My problem? As I am tendered the bill the waiter tells me that our time is "almost up". I asked him to explain. It was at this time that my wife pointed to the table centerpiece which had a placard indicating that parties would be allowed to remain sitting at the table for only one hour and a half hours after sitting for their reservations . Again, not very happy about that but again, understandable. Need to make a buck and put a stop to the customers who abuse the buffet line. My real problem ? We had not been sitting to eat not even 35 minutes when we were told that our time is almost up. I asked to speak to the manager who said that was their policy but I could stay a little longer....even though by then we had only been at our table well, well short of their 1.5 hr. limit (we had only been sitting down to eat approximately 55 minutes ....with 35 minutes remaining based on their 1.5hr. protocol). Nonetheless, we proceeded to tip three additional waitresses who had been very gracious, this in addition to the 20% that we had already been billed for. We left this establishment after being there about[ 60 minutes. Needless to say, the people at this establishment ruined our Mother's Day get- together. We were ushered in and out like pigs in a pen. Surprise! We will not be returning. How unfortunate since the food was good and the grounds are beautiful. Spare yourself the embarrassment, anguish and emotional trauma. Stay away.... read more

Came for Mother's Day brunch. I remembered this to have a good selection, so that is why I made reservations. I was disappointed with the food selection. Most of the just lukewarm and very bland. Our server seemed to have a hard time understanding English to even take our drink orders. The salads were good and the deserts were great. Very much enjoyed the venue of my friend's wedding. Nice view outdoors for a wedding and convenient to have a wedding reception! Food was good but the waitresses seem rushed and even took away our bottle of wine when we said we were going to finish it saying we could get more at the bar... And they rushed clearing out table even about to take my cup of coffee away after I didn't even begin drinking it. I was a little skeptical after reading some of the prior negitive posts. Howver, after attending a wedding there last evening, I was VERY IMPRESSED. From the food,staff and atmosphere were all top shelf. Out of all of the weddings and special events that I have attended during my 60 years, this was the best.
