We were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was very big and we saw a lot of local Ethiopians so I knew it was going to be authentic and yummy! I think they had a problem with the AC and had large fans all around and when we sat, the owner was so sweet and moved a fan near us so it was still comfortable. The photos didn't do the food justice because the spices made each dish so different and delightful! I got the lemon eggplant hummus with homemade pita and I wish I had a bucket of it because it was DIVINE! We got a menagerie of food; chicken beef, veggie but they also serve goat and lamb. I loved the beef (Awaze Tibs)- so tender, tasty and flavorful. It was served with salad, rice and their bread called Enjera. I spoke to the owner, Suzzani, and she educated me on how it is made... it's kind of like their version of sourdough. They let it ferment 3 days and it's like a very spongey flat bread that it rolled up. It was not like anything I had before... a little tangy/sour (but in a good way) due to fermentation. Anyway, they serve a big portion for the price so most of us had food to go. They accommodate big parties and have a stage too. When walking in I was amazed at all of the products that she had in her shop. She had all the spices, and also had fresh injera which is hard to find. It was soft spongy and very flavorful. She also was very helpful on letting me know how to store it so it will keep longer.. They also had dresses., shirts and throws. This is a wonderful store and if you happen to be on the southwest side of town, you should go in and take a look around. You will be amazed.
