I engaged Mike for support in an insurance claim. During our discussion I advised I didn't want to work with the insurance company and wanted to be sure Mike would handle and address issues on my behalf. I was not in the mood for phone calls or exchanges of any kind unless it was with Mike. Mike advised if I retained him to represent me, he would take care of everything in about 30 days and I wouldn't have to do anything more than wait for him to do his job. He advised immediate payment on the original claim and in about 30 days he would send an additional check to me based on his negotiation. None of that happened! I was constantly contacted by my insurance company causing far too much stress and every time I told them I was represented by Mike, they advised they had no idea who he was. After more than a month of not being compensated and after Mike advised he would handle things, I had to reach out to my insurance company, and they again advised Mike had not requested any action on my behalf. I told them to issue my original claim payment and to work with Mike on any outstanding balance. At the end of the day, Mike didn't do what he promised. He now wants to threaten me over his mistakes. My low-mileage, 2003 Acura TL sedan was in pristine condition when it was totaled by my neighbor (we're still friends) when he backed into it! After a lengthy but helpful phone conversation, I signed the agreement with Harber Appraisal. Within about three weeks after he went to work, I got a second offer. My insurance company increased the settlement offer up to what would be expected, should this car be sold, in pre-totaled condition, on any average used car lot. A couple weeks after that, I even got my deductible back! In short, I would heartily recommend using Mike and Harber Appraisal should you need help getting what is really owed you, by a typical low-balling insurance company. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Initially I had paid harber appraisal to coach me on going for diminished value/ loss of use with my insurance company after my car accident. Then my insurance company responded that they were not going to pay for my loss of use or diminishment in value for my vehicle. So I lost money on the coaching. Then I was convinced by harber appraisal to have them represent me and take on the case with my insurance company for another cost. They were so optimistic that I would get paid a lot. So I paid them for a second time to take on the case. I had to keep calling/ emailing them about updates on my case and they kept feeding me excuses. The last thing I heard from Mike Harber himself was that an attorney was reviewing my case and he had not been able to hook up and discuss if he will take on the case and to be patient. This was 14 months ago and I've heard nothing since. I regret ever doing business with this company and wasted a lot of money. Hello, At 55 years old I bought my first brand new car; a 2015 limited edition Camaro SS. I knew a new car depreciates when you leave the lot, but i wasn't worried about is as i had planned on keeping it for a long time. After having it in my possession for four months (it spent 4 months at the dealership trying to repair the AC), a distracted driver ran a red light, hit us and totaled the car. The other driver's insurance offered us $16,000 less than i had paid for the car. The car at the time of the accident had 3,600 miles on it. I was given Harber Appraisal's contact information from our attorney. I contacted Mike and he went to work on obtaining a better settlement from the insurance companies. Mike was able to get me enough money to replace the car! I had spent hours talking to the other driver's insurance company and received no compassion or better compensation from them. If you are dealing with an insurance company that is trying to pay you too little for your vehicle, I would recommend getting in touch with Mike! He knows what to do to get you what the insurance company owes you, in fairness.
