I've been coming to this theater for years and I genuinely love it here, so consider this review an act of loyalty rather than spite. My partner and I took a summer Friday off for a proper day date -- movies, late lunch, the whole thing. We were treating ourselves. The movie? Disclosure Day. A Spielberg film about humanity finally learning the truth. The irony of what followed was not lost on me. First, the concessions. The young woman working the counter appeared to be in a state of suspended animation. Slouched, silent, possibly in another dimension entirely. We weren't sure where to scan our tickets and asking for help felt like we were genuinely inconveniencing her existence. I've interacted with more enthusiastic houseplants. I felt bad asking for popcorn. Popcorn. A movie theater staple. I understand bad days, we all have them, but this one was notable. Then there was the temperature. I want to be clear: it was cold. Not "oh grab a light jacket" cold. Cryogenic cold. I'm pretty sure the aliens in the film had better atmospheric conditions than Theater 6. My sweat froze. That's not a metaphor. Speaking of Theater 6, there was also a strange recurring noise during the film that we couldn't identify. Given the subject matter, we briefly considered it was part of the experience. It was not. Here's the thing though: the movie was fantastic and honestly saved the afternoon. Emily Blunt deserves all the things. But with streaming making it easier than ever to skip the theater, the experience itself has to earn it. Yours usually does. Today just wasn't the day of disclosure we were hoping for. We'll be back. Please turn up the AC. I understand it's hot af outside but I don't need to watch the movie on an iceberg. I'm not exaggerating, a winter coat wouldn't have been enough. You know what this theater has all you need Recliner seats with warming? Check Concessions (obviously Check) Most important- validated 3 hour parking for the garage. Do not go to any of the parking kiosks to pay for parking. Just enter the theater, grab your drinks/snacks and go to the basement level where you enter your license plate number at one of the kiosks there and validated free parking for the movie theater in the inner harbor area. You can't beat that. We've been here a couple times now and for a downtown bereft of any major chain theaters this is a good replacement. (Though Charles Street theater is also my fave, mostly for the vibes and the dog intro they have). read more

Came here to watch Toy Story 5. Theater was clean, the popcorn was freshly popped and the service was nice. It was a pretty quiet vibe overall which I found to be nice. Not overcrowded, no long lines and was able to get in and out with ease. read more

I saw Hamilton the other night at Harbor East Cinemas. The ticket prices were very cheap for a movie and in comparison to other local theaters in the area! The movie theater was very clean and classy! I walked but I know there are garages nearby and the cinema validates parking. It was not crowded at all, so it was quick to get popcorn, drinks and snacks. You can scan your ticket using a self-serve kiosk. I missed the previews but the movie started a few minutes after the expected showtime (which is not bad)! The overall experience was fun and good and reinforced my love for the movie theaters. However, the sound was a little off. I was in theater 2 and it almost sounded like someone was talking too close to the microphone. This made it get extremely loud. Otherwise, the whole night and movie was perfect! Can't wait to attend and watch more movies here again! read more

I have been to Harbor East Cinemas quite a few times and I really like it! The chairs are comfy, food and drinks are easy to get and reasonably priced, and there are always great movies playing. I also love that they have comped parking! Park at the garage on Aliceanna around the corner and when you come inside you can enter your license plate in the parking kiosk before heading into the theatre. It covers you for 3 hours! I recently came here for a premiere for Wicked For Good and it was so nicely done and fun! I will absolutely return! read more

Very nice movie theater! Came to see Wicked for a matinee - it was $14, which isn't terrible or considering the seats were heated and reclined. 2024-I was so excited to see they were hosting a Wicked advanced screening event that although I already purchased tickets at another theater, I couldn't help but grab two seats to attend. My niece was more than happy to accompany me and we enjoyed all the festivities to be had. Cutest pair there! They provided all kinds of sweets and a small popcorn combo was included with our ticket purchase. About 80% of movie goers were dressed accordingly. 2025-This year was nothing less! They even had two ladies dressed as Glinda and Elphaba there ready for photo ops and mingling with the crowd. Traffic was a little crazy so I rushed to find my seat with the help from one of the bartenders who was so sweet! I asked for a drink carrier from the concession stand after realizing I couldn't carry two drinks, popcorn and the snacks being offered but was told the carriers were at the bar. I went to the bar and was informed they didn't have anymore/didn't offer anymore. No worries though, a young gentleman was more than willing to help me carry whatever I needed to my seat. He stopped at each table with goodies to inquire if I wanted something from them. I felt so cared for and valued as a patron. I was by myself and with his help didn't need to feel as if I couldn't partake in the full event although I am glad I didn't bring my broom to this event . . . . imagine that lol Big thanks to that young man! Back to the theater: I love they offer validation for parking in the attached garage and no need to walk outside to reach the theater either. You simply enter your license plate number into the kiosk at the entry when you arrive to the theater and receive 3 hours of free parking. Like last time, they offered popcorn and drink along with a table full of goodies. There was a vendor who gave out cake pops and a dessert cup adorned with a black with hat or cute crown. I was somewhat disheartened that they only offered tons of sweets to grab. The bar offered two drinks to choose from which was right on theme (See pictures): Elphaba's Cold Brew or an Emerald City as well as Glinda's Pink Potion or Flying Monkey. I went with the Emerald City but subbed tequila for the gin and it hit the spot. The popcorn offered was enough for me since I had downed multiple servings already earlier in the week. I will come back for more of their events. I love how they had so much dedication with their decorations and themes. read more

This is a great spot to go to for movies if you live in Baltimore. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want dinner before your movie. They have comfy seating and a bar so you can grab a drink for your flick. They generally have a fun movie themed cocktail depending on what's in theaters. They also have a snack bar with the general movie theater fare- popcorn and candy and sodas. I will say sometimes the other movie attendees don't have great theater etiquette. We had someone answer their cell phone at the beginning of the movie Friday night and some people talking. read more

What a beauty of a theater. You walk in and it's decorated with lights and movie props. Pictures worthy. There is a full service bar as well. I believe the concessions is currently only popcorn and drinks but apparently food options are coming soon. Once you get your ticket you will go down some stairs and you will then see the different locations that are playing which movie. There were Mean girls posing walk since the movie came out I believe a week ago, so I am sure a Mean girls fans took advantage of that. The leather seats were nice but a bit challenging at first to get them to move. You can heat your seat or cool it down then recline it. The distance away per seat was nice as well. The theater seemed well cleaned. I even witness April cleaning the lobby since someone had slipped popcorn in a few places. The bathrooms were very clean as well. Josiah & April get a big shout out!! Let's start with how wonderful Josiah was from my initial meeting of him at the ticket counter. I was awaiting a friend but she was a little turned around as she isn't from here, so he was willing to go outside and assist with giving directions to help. He didn't hesitate just went right into action! That is truly going above and beyond and it was truly appreciated. April was such a sweet soul that at the end was able to give us the validated vouchers and pointed us to the direction to get back inside of the garage we parked in. Both wonderful people and employees. Make sure to ask for a validated ticket prior to leaving if you parked in the exter street garage. all in all it's a great theater. I love this theater so much - I've been coming here since it reopened (not as much as I would like) but every time I come it's a great experience. I went most recently to watch "American Fiction" on member night - movies on Tuesdays are $9. I'm lucky bc I live close by so I can walk to the theater otherwise parking can be a challenge. There is garage and on a weekday you can find street parking. The theater does a great job decorating for block busters. They also have a bar and offer themed drinks. When I came for Barbie this past summer they had themed drinks and fun props and a photo area. This time it was set up for Mean Girls the musical. The seats recline and are heated. It's such luxury! I will say their rewards program is challenging - you get a card but there's no number you can input when buying tickets online so you have to ask guest services to add to your account. Points do rack up - I've gotten some concessions discounts. You do pay a $2 per ticket service fee online which you avoid if you buy in person - so if you come in a slow day or for an older movie you can risk it. The theater was clean and comfortable, but the customer service was lacking. When we arrived for the movie, nobody was scanning tickets, so we walked right in and found our theater. Once we got comfortable, I went out to get popcorn and a cocktail. There was nobody working behind the bar. My partner and I love to come to this theater, we have been here probably 6 times since we moved to Baltimore in January. It's clean, modern and upscale, including an indoor bar as well as concessions. It's somewhat minimal, but you can get pretzel bites, flatbreads popcorn candy and a lot of the usual concessions. Every time we have come here, service is great, staff and friendly and the theater has been clean. I haven't been to this theater in so long that I forgot how nice it is. I attended a special movie premiere of a documentary by Rivers are Life about the inner harbor, Mr. Trash Wheel, and our national treasure Chesapeake Bay. The cinema actually created signature cocktails, a blue (for water) carpet, signs and promotional materials for the event. Each attendee received a free movie screening, popcorn and a cocktail. The theater was spacious with a stage for a panel discussion after the movie. Located in harbor east, it's in a nice location with plenty of street or garage parking and is well lit. Last night was my first visit to Harbor East Cinemas and I was there for the Barbie movie, of course! While I love the vintage, indie theatres that are closer to me, Harbor East Cinemas delivers an extra sense of luxury with the big comfy reclining seats and full bar. This particular night, they had pink lighting at the bar, Barbie photo op areas, lots of fun Barbie-themed drink specials, even the usher at the door was wearing a pink tie and vest. So cute! I got the "pool party Barbie" cocktail which was tequila based and came with some sour gummy rings as garnishes. It was tasty! Not very strong at all but I guess what you'd expect from a movie theatre. It was $9 for a regular and $15 for a double. I also got some popcorn. The smallest size was the "regular" which was as big as my head. Insane! It was $9. Pretty typical prices for movie theatres these days. The only complaint, besides the lack of variety in popcorn sizes, was the temperature in the theatre. I usually get cold in theatres but this time, it was actually kinda warm! Some of my friends were uncomfortable with the temperature by the end of the movie. The other thing to keep in mind is parking. It can be tough to find street parking around here so be sure to budget extra time before your showtime to grab a spot or park at a nearby garage. read more

The theaters themselves were smaller than your large movie theaters but I really liked the size! They had all the decor out for the Barbie movie! It's clean, staff are courteous and seats are great. The seats can be heated or cooled, are wide and can recline - very comfy now. After living in Baltimore all these years, I never knew this gem existed! The theatre was clean and the staff at the bar greeted us instantly. We visited during the weekday so our tickets were only $11 a piece and they do validate parking for 2 hours for the Harbor East garage. The theater had the heated/cooling leather recliner seats with mini tables attached for your food and drinks. We had dinner before but decided to get some popcorn and a hotdog, which was pretty good. Nice theater with a bar. I saw my movie in a spacious theater that has the seats that recline at the press of a button - they recline so far you can be virtually laid out flat. The best part of the seats is they have have heaters in them, it was so amazing! The movie quality was good. My only complaint was there was no customer service person at the desk when I left. I did see a late movie, but there should always be a person manning that station. Since no one was there, I wasn't able to get my parking validated and had to pay full price. Boooo. read more

The harbor east theater has just reopened after being closed for quite some time for renovations. The renovations are beautiful! The seats in the theater are very comfortable and can be both heated and cooled, and reclined. My only disappointment was that they now serve only Pepsi products, and their selection is limited at that. Boo!! Bring back coke products! read more

Think twice before visiting Harbor East Cinemas. My 13 year old was denied access to this cinema today. He was informed by a staff member that she didn't allow patrons under 16 in by themselves. I called the cinema to inquire about this policy, which is not posted on the website. I spoke with Vanessa who told me that yes, she doesn't allow patrons under 16 in by themselves because the theaters are downstairs, because there are 8 exit doors downstairs and because the cinema serves alcohol and Vanessa doesn't think it's safe for patrons under 16 to be alone in dark theaters with men drinking alcohol. It doesn't sound like this cinema is safe for patrons 16 and older as well. I'm glad that I called and talked to Vanessa, because now I know to avoid this cinema. read more

Albeit expensive, I am a fan of this particular movie theater. The theaters are small, but the seating is comfortable, and if heated seats are your thing, they have those too. The sound is incredible in the theater, whether in a large or small room. Outside of movies, they do have the occasional magic or comedy show. Concessions are basic, which can be a drawback as you're paying a hefty admission price; they have popcorn, nachos, theater candy, and Pepsi products (which you can freestyle). There is a bar that can serve you some fancy drinks to go with that popcorn. Customer service is hit or miss as some are simply doing their jobs, and others are going above and beyond, and it does not matter whether you show up during a matinee or evening show. There is a loyalty program, which is very generous. You'll receive a point for every dollar, and with a free movie needing just 75 points, and the price of admission and concessions on the high side, you'll get a free movie in no time. Plus, every Tuesday is 50% off admission prices. Getting a rewards card was a challenging experience for me as I had been to the theater several times, and I was not offered a chance to enroll during any of those times. read more

When you first enter the theater you hear a loud voice from afar "Hi can I help you" The employee was in the concession stand. I think it would be better for someone to be closer to the entrance yelling startles people. Stopped by the bar nice encounter with them. Reasonable price for a beer and nice that you can take it with you to your movie. Onto the Concession stand not so much feeling the warm fuzziness it wasn't the customer service I expected. We couldn't decide what the best deal was in reference to the popcorn deals, so we were taking up a little more time then usual. Not that it was busy at the moment hardly anyone there... The employee could have cared less she looked frustrated no smile,taking a exhale like to say come on. My opinion they could have helped to offer what they sale . I finally made it down here to see a movie. I don't know exactly what I was expecting but I definitely expected something better. It's not bad but I don't have a desire to return. It's in line with the rest of the movie theaters of this kind. I love when theaters have heated seats so that was a plus. I think what turned me off the most was the smell coming from the bathroom. It was bad! Not only could you smell the odor from outside of the bathrooms while the doors were closed but even after you walked by, you could still smell it in the air several feet later. read more

I love the selection of films that are available. The inside is beautifully decorated with posters from the greatest films, which is a nice touch. Everything is well organized, from the carpeted floors to the well dressed employees. There is a great selection of snacks available, which I look forward to surveying in its entirety. This was my first time at the revamped cinema in Harbor East and it did not disappoint! The design is very sleek and modern. They have a full bar near the front that you can enjoy before, or I'm assuming after too, the movie. They also have plush chairs with heating and recline options! My only con are the food options. They have the basics, popcorn and nachos, but I would love to see them expand that menu given the luxe experience. read more

We parked across the street by lochbar and it was a quick walk took about 8 mins taking our time enjoying the weather. The movies were clean. Kinda empty around 330 in the evening. Bartender was entertaining and knew his variety of movie drinks. We went to see bad boys 4 the movies had assigned seating purchased in advance. The popcorn was fresh. Overall i would def come back again. Chairs were comfortable and the bathrooms were really clean. read more

I love it here! I come here all the time because I live in the building next door and have been waiting for this place to open for a while since there are not really any other theaters nearby. I joined the rewards membership and have racked up enough points to earn a few free tickets already. The lobby is beautiful and I love the vintage movie posters everywhere. The bar is pretty nice too. The heated/cooling reclining chairs are super comfortable and most of the theaters have an intimate feeling to them. I come so often that the staff know me now and are always super friendly when I'm there. Most of the times the theaters are pretty empty and I've had many times when I've had the theater to myself. I hope they last because it's a great independent theater! read more
