He was able to add me to his calendar, to come to my home for an assessment, quoted the job that day; left it up to me to get in touch after decision was made. Never use Harbor Floors. Greg quoted out a 7 day job and said we could leave town while the dust flew. His team didn't show up for 4 weeks and put in the wrong wood. All the while he became threatening. This pushed back our kitchen remodel which was supposed to be done before Xmas and now can't be done until we have the floor fixed. 3 other companies have come out and said he messed up, we have maple 2/3 floors and he put in Ash. It not only don't match grains in the slightest but the coloring is completely different. They damaged our furniture and put heavy items in our shower????which broke our shower pan. Meanwhile we caught Greg in numerous lies about work done/not done and he continued to threaten to walk off the job while we were out of town. Today he threatened my wife again. He can deal with Amex now which immediately reversed the charges after seeing the interactions in text and the pictures of poor workmanship, code issues and the color differences. I was looking for flooring place, but read that their drivers are reckless and have gotten in accidents cutting thru subdivision streets. That's not the type of business I will support with my business. Get your drivers to stop driving recklessly through parking lots and subdivisions to avoid traffic lights. read more

Do not use this company. They did a horrible job. Stair risers arent tight enough and already squeek. We bought plenty of wood and they used pieces that were damaged. They left a mess and i had to clean it up. They permanently damaged the floors. They didnt care at all about the job they did. If i could go back i would not have used them. I got a great quote based on my measurements at the shop. The following day, Greg came out and did his own measurements and I got the same quote and all things written that were expected. I gave half down and then the material got ordered while I was sitting at the table. It was right before Thanksgiving so I did not expect the job to be done immediately, due to the fact that lots of people want to update their houses before they have company. After Thanksgiving, I was told that my materials would be delivered shortly because they needed to rest in my house four days before installation of hardwoods. The communication about the delivery was pretty spotty. I was told upon my third phone call that my materials were expected to be delivered on a Wednesday and they were indeed delivered. Since it was my whole house, this was quite a big job. The removal of my furniture and carpeting commenced that day. The installers, especially Jim did an excellent job! They were on time most days, except when there were miscommunications with the owner and there were several. The owner did get mad at me because I insisted on better communication. Ultimately, the job was done in 2.5 weeks and the results are beautiful, at a great price. I would recommend using Harbor Floors again with the caveat to expect communication to be spotty at times and to make sure that the customer is on top of that, as I was! read more

Awesome place to buy flooring and carpets!! Let me start off by saying I like giving work to small businesses as much as I can versus the big box stores and there are major advantages like experience and the personal touch. We have been extremely pleased with our experience with Harbor Floors and Interiors. The owner Greg and his wife have been in the business from many years. We first called Harbor Floors in October 2015 when we were looking for flooring for our basement finish. We wanted something that my wife liked and was good quality and in our budget. Greg showed us an excellent product made by IVC Moduleo - a reputable Belgian company The vinyl plank that looked awesome, waterproof and could be assembled by clicking them rather than glue. The product does not mean a thing without great installation. And it was great! As a test a few months later my wife had a dozen friends practicing a dance and the planks stayed put. It has been nearly 2 years now and we can say we love the product, install and the price! See picture of the great work they did! Around June 2017, we decided to replace the carpets for our whole house. This was a much bigger and expensive project than the basement. I compared quality and cost with Home Depot, Lowes (just for reference) and two other small businesses along with Harbor. Harbor's was the best quote for quality and cost. Greg provided me all the carpet details such as pile height, tufted weight, ply twist, warranty and of course fiber material and the pad chosen which are so important in the carpet selection process. There was an issue that we had -we wanted only one room done first since we wanted to install a built-in in that room right away after that and the rest of the house later to match our calendar. Greg had no issues with that whatsoever- of course it was reasonable to pay a larger share of the deposit since I was holding the project for 4 months! Then comes what I believe the most important step - the installation and Greg's team is just awesome!!! Dave and Kevin so kind, helpful and well-mannered - moved all the furniture carefully, no scratches, breakages. On removing the old carpet we noticed a hole near the patio door where the wood was rotted. Greg took care of it by sending Steve, a master carpenter who did such a good job sawing off the rotten wood and putting in new plywood with reinforcements. See picture. Also removed and tightened another area. My carpenter was booked for 4 weeks, so having someone in your team with the expertise is just great. Then there was the master carpet installer Troy who single handedly carpeted my whole house- you cannot see any seams, you cannot see any folds. We had so many balusters up the stairs and overlooking our great room and there was a lot of work to cut the carpet around each of them. The carpet is soft and plush and my adult special needs son is so happy when he runs across the room. Recently, we had a spill on the carpet and it came right off. Also some adjustments needed to be done to the doors and Greg sent his crew. See picture of the great work they did! In short - a knowledgeable owner, friendly and professional crew with excellent installation, great quality and prices-what else can you ask for! They laid laminate floors in the most beautiful Herringbone pattern in the majority of our 1000 sq foot basement and then carpeted the bedrooms and stairs. He also stereotyped them... which is un acceptable. Won't be coming here anytime soon... nor will I advice friends and family to come here. Not honorable owner - Greg does not keep his commitments. Had work done, his team (which were really nice men) made minor scratches moving furniture back. Greg made promises to return for 3 months and I ultimately tired of calling him. Greg requested payments in advance of the work being completed. I had no obligation to pay him but did so thinking he had integrity. Once I did, I had no leverage to incentivize him coming back. I do not recommend this business based on the owners lack of integrity. His team was very nice, capable and professional (even with the scratches) - the only positive! read more

Very unprofessional. Measured floor and didn't order enough material and then blamed us as he based the order on our measurements. Lied to worker as to what was being installed so worker was unprepared for job. Lost a day due to worker needing to go back and get additional supplies. There are other floor companies in the area so I suggest you shop around. Took AMEX card for down payment then refused to accept for final payment. Terrible service level. Once the material was paid for, the communication was poor, and generally inaccurate. Greg put his installer in a bad spot trying to do a complicated installation alone. We did not receive a written quote until after the job had started and we had to ask for it. As I write this, the floor is still not done but they have run the balance on my credit card a week ago - although I never authorized that. I have been waiting for a day and a half to have the final pieces installed. The products they carry can surely be supplied by another company, and that is my strong recommendation. Do not use! The owner sends out subcontractors (not his own employees) and tries to get you to handle problems with them instead handling them himself. We have used them in the past with good results but this last time was nothing but trouble. The job involved laying some new flooring in part of a room and then sanding the whole room to match the abutting wood-floored rooms.(three different threshholds). Not an easy job as the adjoining floors were all dark brown but slightly different in hue. We were not expecting perfection and they had done this for us in the past. (put in new flooring in half of a room, sanded all and stained to "match" yet another room.) After they were done, it was obvious that the color of the "new" room was much darker than any of the adjacent floors. The owner wanted us to deal directly with the crew/subcontractor who HE had hired instead of handling the problem himself. They claimed it was the color we had picked but we had wanted it to match existing floors- we did not specify a specific color. They had limited English skills (or so it seemed) and did not want to take any responsibility for fixing it. It was eventually fixed (twice) but not to our satisfaction but we were so tired of being out of our house that we just let it go. read more

The owner came to our house to Measure and give us a quote on doing our whole house. He was there for about an hour and seemed pretty nice. However just as he was going to give us a quote we told him we were going to do it but shopping around. The moment we said that he closed his book and said I'll just email you a quote and stormed off. We never heard from him again. He was a jerk and probably did not want us to look elsewhere because he was more expensive. I would not recommend somebody that does business like this to anyone. read more

Baeutiful job! We just bought and moved into a home with carpeting and was under a bit of a time crunch to get hard wood floors put down due to my daughter having a severe allergy. I called for a quote and Greg came out the same day to measure, provided a quote before he left the house. He found us a beautiful wood that matched what was already down within a price point that we requested. The floor was ordered, layed, trim back up, registered stained to match within 10 days. do not do business with this company you will regret it. they do bad work and the owner greg will not follow up on any jobs that he himself says were no good. my 88 year old mother was told by greg four times he would come out to fix the job and it has been almost a year. i called him and he met me there and said you it needs to be fixed and absolutely will not fix it. he cashes the check real fast when it time to get paid. don't let this guy take advantage of you like he did my mother. i guess that's why they get 3 stars and many bad reviews. read more
