I'm glad they have a Harbor Freight nearby. I've been here a few times lately, usually for a few hand tools and miscellaneous items (nothing big). It's a great place, at reasonable prices, for what you may need around the house. I wouldn't necessarily purchase items if I needed them for regular work, as the products are generally inferior. However, for DIY home work I highly recommend it. I've encountered amicable employees. No issues there. read more

You know Harbor Freight is one of my favorite stores. You have to know what you are buying and expect the items to work great or work just long enough that they are worth the purchase. I am always amazed on what I find in the store that are what I consider a rarity. Just niche things that you need but never seen in a physical store at great prices. Where this store and others fail at are the customer service people. Particularly when they are working the registers. They seem to have a feeling like the soup Nazi of hardware stores. Usually not enough employees at the register, and they all tend not to want to take their own coupons or look at you like you are a vagrant for using coupons. They should know that many times I go there I may not have a lot of items and spead very little but while I am there buying cheap items I look at expensive items and go back and purchase on different occasions. You just get this feeling that you are a bother, and I am not sure why they aren't exactly doing skilled labor work to be an overlord for the store. read more

If you can get past the part about almost everything in the store being made in Chinese sweatshops, there are super prices on all types of tools and equipment here. Want a 10,000RPM angle grinder for $9.95? Its here. Cordless Drill for $14.99? Yep. Latex gloves? Air compressor? Blue tarps? Welder? They Got 'em. My tip: Be sure to check out the sale circular. If you don't see what you want, wait two weeks, and it'll probably be on sale. I only gave it three stars because of the sweat shop thing. Of course, if you already shop at Wal Mart, you're past that. read more

Harbor Freight is the cheapest place in town to get tools. You can pick up stuff for about 80% less than other hardware stores. They carry a full line of hand tools and power tools. You can also get bigger things like generators and compressors. They always have some kind of sale going on so it's a good idea to get online and check out they're flyer so you can plan your trip. OK now for the bad news. Generally you get what you pay for. You can pick up a cordless drill for about $20 but don't expect it to be the same quality as the DeWalt that costs $100; that's just common sense. For this reason I am pretty selective about what I buy there. If you need a replacement socket set or a specialty tool that you won't use very often you can find great deals here. I don't think I would recommend they're products for things that you will heavily use. Despite the quality issues Harbor Freight is a wonderful store to pick up stuff for cheap. The best thing to do is use the sale flyers to plan out your trip and you can find some real steals! read more

Omg! A machete with sheath for $3.79, a nail gun for$15.94, and gorilla gloves for $1.50! This place is great. Yes, it's low quality but if you're the average guy rounding out your tool box it will suffice. I'm a weekend warrior so getting odds & ends here saves me money and is worth it to me.The carpenter who uses his tools everyday should get a Ryobi or Craftsman. I've read they all have some type of warranty but who really bothers making claims in those anyway. There is this weird new rubber smell in the store that gave me a headache. read more

I have been a regular customer, I called before going to get an item and was told by the young man who answered the phone that they had what I was looking for. Unfortunately he wasn't there when I arrived. The cashiers did not know which kit set was correct for my needs. The cashier called the manager who was in the back loading a truck I waited 10 minutes. Meanwhile I checked on line and researched various items. I also called customer service. I then asked again and was told the manager was busy, After being on hold for 26 minutes I was cut off. I asked again for the manager and was told he was out back sorting the trash. I left, and did not buy other items that I was going to get. The manager here is terrible. I shop here all the time and needed to return an item but didn't have my receipt on me. So he said he can do it this time and told me to go back in line and then he proceeds to call the next person in line .... are you kidding me. A good manager would say ok I can exchange it since it is an item that doesn't work and you bought it here just come to my register and I'll take care of that for you....nooooooo....just get back in line and wait another 10-15 mins while we take care of other customers. My worst nightmare. Hubby could have stayed for hours. They have a ton of CHEAP tools and gadgets here. Like 79 cents for utility scissors and $3 for an 18 inch machete. I'm sure you get what you pay for, but I assume you get to use it at least once. The store is smallish, kind of packed, and not my cup of tea. For the ladies, there is a Big Lots nearby that is a million times more fun than this place! That said, lots of inexpensive tools, lots of people (men) milling around, and friendly cashiers. I needed to buy a hand truck for moving an old analog television set out of the apartment. Especially with my apartment being on the second floor, I did not want to risk injury attempting to carry it down the stairs and across the parking lot to my car. This Harbor Freight location is a bit further of a drive for me. Lowe's and The Home Depot are much closer to me, but I had coupons from Harbor Freight. So having a weekday afternoon free, I decided to drive out to this location. And I am glad I did! I bought a 600 pound capacity heavy duty hand truck for $42.99. And it was already assembled. A coupon for twenty percent off gave me a discount of $8.60. So with that, the cost came to $36.80 (after sales tax). And a shout out to Adrienne, who not only helped me check out and answer any questions I may have had, but for also taking the time to sign me up for their mailing list. If I can get coupons for a discount or even a free screwdriver set, why not? This place has a great selection of tools for a great price. Along with the coupons, there are many products discounted or marked down for clearance. So if you are looking for a certain tool or other hardware, this is the place to go. The only reason I gave Harbor Freight four stars is because of its location. Located in a shopping plaza at the intersection of Highway 436 and Howell Branch, I did not see a sign out front for this store. I had to make a phone call to the store after I realized that I drove by it. The sales clerk who I spoke to was very helpful in giving me directions. There is a sign above the store's entrance, but with the store sitting back a ways from the main road, it makes it difficult to look for a sign. Especially since it is on S.R.436. But you know how driving on S.R. 436 is. Try slowing down to find something, only to have the guy who has been riding on your ass for miles honking his horn and cussing you out. But the next time I come here, I will have no problem finding it. With my coupons in hand. And I won't have to worry about getting honked at. Let alone cussed out! read more

They had very poor customer service! I walked up and down each aisle twice looking for something and couldn't find them anywhere. I asked the young lady at the register where I could find them and she asked if I had even bothered to look at them. Umm... Yes? I typically like to find things on my own before 'troubling' someone to assist me. She said "Well, they are in aisle 6. Look there." Aisle 6 ran the entire length of the store. She didn't let me know which of the 3 shelving units it would be on, or if it would be on the left or right. After walking up and down the aisle 4 times, I went back to the cashier and told her that I still couldn't find them. I asked her if she'd come back and show me. Instead of answering me, she picked up the phone and called someone in the back of the store telling them that "this customer can't find her item. Yes, I told her to look. No, I don't know why she can't see them." She then turned back to me and said someone else will help you. At that point she turned back to the other cashier and continued their conversation that I so rudely interrupted. The guy from the back came up with the item and along with the comment of "they were plain as day in aisle 7" gave me a rude look. The cashier asked if I had even bothered to look at aisle 7. So I walk up in here about 15 minutes before they close thinking that I'm going to get what I need. It probably was about 10 people inside and two people at the register. To me they were absolutely horrible. Two young kids 21 and 19 because they were talking about it if you're wondering how I know. Anyway I waited in line 6 minutes just asked a question not to be rude and you can tell that other patrons were frustrated. They kept saying that the manager was in the back and that she could not come to the front because she was unloading something. To me that is horrible customer service especially being that you close in 13 minutes you could not take the time to come up and take care of a customer. That's a no go!! Then a customer asks if her can just grab a floor model tool case because he asked that one be brought up from the back. After he stood there the worker told him no cause it's one coming from the back. He got on his mic to check the status of it and there was none. At that time the young lady working next to him told him she never ordered it. Finally the guy just grabbed it his self. I don't blame him. That was the worst and ppl were just leaving. Look, I NEVER go out of my way to write reviews for a store/restaurant/whatever, but I just had to for this one. Here's what happened, I was looking for a code scanner for my car. I couldn't find it so I asked this guy who works there (probably in his 60s / white hair / white scruff beard / about 6ft tall). I asked him,"Excuse me, do you know where the code scanners are?" He turned to me and said,"Of course I do! What kind of question is that?! They pay me a lot of money to know this sh**!" ...Very rude! This guy obviously hates his job and let me stress the fact that he said "they pay me a lot of money to know this sh**!" No. He doesn't get paid a lot of money, he was being sarcastic. I would recommend going to Northern Tool next to Aldi, it's only a 5 minute distance and it's a bigger store with a bigger selection. When I walked into Northern Tool they were friendly and asked if they could help me the second I walked into the store. read more
