Worst homedepot store and team! Don't go!…read more This is, without a doubt, the worst Home Depot store I have ever visited. Edgewood Home Depot, MD. I was trying to purchase an item from a locked display case, but the cashier told me she didn't have the key and had to call the store manager. After the call, instead of helping resolve the issue, she told me to go to Customer Service and find the manager myself. I waited about 10 minutes in the line at Customer Service, only to be told the manager wasn't there. After waiting another 10 minutes, the store manager finally showed up. Twenty minutes wasted just to buy a locked item. What made the experience even more frustrating was the impression that only the manager had the authority to unlock the case and complete the sale. Then what is the use of the lazy lady in front of the locked cage? It felt as though customers were expected to wait indefinitely for someone acting like a VIP simply because they held the key. The lack of organization, accountability, and basic customer service was unbelievable. If you're going to lock up merchandise, at least have a process in place that allows customers to make a purchase without wasting their time. This experience was unacceptable.

I gotta say, this is the hardware store of choice for me…read more First, when you walk in, you generally see the same faces - this tells me that people enjoy working here. Rarely am I not greeted, and often an employee, if they see me in the aisle will ask if I need assistance. Although not a warehouse store like *cough Home Depot cough *, they have almost everything I need (within reason). I like how they have pretty much every wood stove accessory or repair item, this is something that the warehouse stores *cough Lowes cough* do not carry. Tip: Sign up for their loyalty program. You get discounts and credits towards future purchases. Tip: If you come in with kids, bring a couple of quarters for the old school HUGE gumball machine.

There is one jerk of an employee that works there and sadly, it ruins the whole experience. My dad…read morewent to return a bag of soil, he had purchased one too many. The same arrogant guy gave my dad a hard time, just as he always does for me. I should preface this extra part by saying my father is also recovering from knee replacement surgery. The guy held the door open and told him to carry the soil into the store. When he saw my dad struggling to walk and carry the soil, he got so annoyed by him that when my father finally got close to the front door, he shut the door in his face, and walked back inside. This is my absolute last straw with this place. You cannot bill yourself as the "friendly neighborhood hardware store" and keep doing things like this to your customers. I will gladly take my business to a more commercial enterprise and save myself 30% for the trouble.
