I think I've been in one ACE downtown once many moons ago, so I wasn't sure if the washer fluid would be here. I walk in and I'm greeted. It's the small things and my mind was already blown. I walk around. The stores a little tight, but I didn't mind... that gave me hope that the had what I needed. I don't make it 20 feet in and I already had a bag of potting soil in my hand. It will be used I promise. So I'm walking around, trying not to look lost and apparently I didn't do the best job, because an employee asked if I needed help. "Why Yes, kind sir" hose thingy that can attach. He knew what I was talking about pointed up and talked about a few and I saw one I liked and he grabbed it for me! Next mission washer fluid, which was super easy to find! I wandered around for a bit more and I have to admit I was super surprised! I walk to checkout and grabbed some mango hi-chews and the lovely lady upfront that greeted me checked me out and signed me up for the Ace rewards. She was sweet! I will be back! So I went to Lowes, Walmart and Home Depot. None of them knew what I was looking for. It wasn't that hard. I knew I explained it right. And I also know I couldn't possibly be the only person to ever have this problem. On my way home, I drove past Poplar Place hardware store and made a u-turn (illegally?) and pulled into their parking lot. I was in there for a few seconds and was able to find one of the pieces I needed. I walked to the counter and told the man in terribly inaccurate terms what I was trying to accomplish. He said "oh, sure!" And walked to their vast collection of adapters and brought me exactly what I needed. I am never going to any of the monstrous stores again. All hardware needs will now be taken care of at Poplar Place hardware. They are knowledgeable. The store is well stocked and clean. And their prices are competitive.

My wife and I paid the full price for a brand-new model, and while the delivery fee was waived as a sign of good faith, the freezer we received had clearly been diverted from another store. It turned out to be a display model, not new, and it arrived scuffed and slightly damaged. It's one thing to make a mistake; it's another to repeat it. This entire process has wasted both my time and my wife's. She even had to go back to the store in person and act more forcefully than she should have needed to, just to get basic service. The store manager responded as one might expect a corporate tool, proving difficult to reason with. It's not difficult to see where the shift managers get it. It took several individuals before someone finally took ownership of the situation. Thankfully, one decent manager stepped up, had the staff retrieve the display unit, and replaced it with a new one in the original box; something that could have easily been done on day one. Instead of resolving the issue from the start, the management offered explanations and justifications, without taking a moment to see the situation from the customer's point of view. For a store with a 3.5-star rating, I would have hoped for more accountability and care. Sadly, this experience has convinced me that this will be our last purchase from Home Depot.
