Frustrated with the ridiculously high labor rates for contractors and handymen throughout the Vegas Valley, I decided to do the project myself. I wanted to install a couple of Pendant lights above the bar in my kitchen, as well as several ceiling fans throughout my house. I have done many DIY projects in my life, but never anything that has to deal with electrical. But after getting quotes from contractors in the Valley as high as $600 to install two pendant lights. I decided it was time to learn how to do this myself. To be safe and make sure my HOT and Neutral wires were installed correctly, and that the electricity was broken, I needed to buy myself a voltage tester. I also needed a wire stripper and some electrical tape. My first instinct was to go to one of the popular Big Box chains, however, their voltage testers were too expensive for just a few uses. So, I did a little research and found a perfectly priced one here at Harbor Freight. I was blown away at how affordable the prices are on everything here. The store is clean, bright, inviting and easy to find exactly what you're looking for; and the prices... just wow! Some tools I recently purchased from one of their competitors will be returned so I can purchase them here. This is definitely my new go-to place when I need more supplies for all of my other DIY projects. Johanna was the associate that checked me out. She was very friendly, helpful, and really made me feel welcomed. She added my info to their system so they could store all of my receipts/purchases incase I ever loose a receipt and need to return something. BTW... I successfully installed my Pendant Lights myself, and they look great. So glad I did this project myself and saved tons of money! I purchased a $180.00 wet saw 2 days ago from this location. It would not cut a tile without stopping the blade. I brought it back just now and the manager named Chris charged me a $36.00 restocking fee which was not brought to my attention at the time I purchased the saw. This guy should be fired for incompetence! I am never buying anything from this place again! DON'T SHOP AT THE HENDERSON HARBOR FREIGHT! I wanted to take a moment to say a little about my recent experience at the Lake Mead location. The reason for my visit was a replacement for an existing Harbor Freight tool that had a manufacturer's defect and was no longer safe to use. After explaining my situation to the customer service rep, he asked Gina the store manager to come out and speak with me. I can honestly say... That this was the single most pleasant experience I've EVER had in a Harbor Freight ever. Gina was not only kind and courteous, she was a wealth of information in regards to the specificity of the tool warranty. Not only did I exchange my defective tool, I upgraded to something a little heavier duty for additional money. Strictly based on my experience with Gina. Why? Because I know that if I have any issue with said tool. Gina or one of her staff will be at the ready to take care of me. Gina is an absolute asset to not only this location, but to the company in general. Build a staff around her, implement her sources and methods of management, replicate, and genuinely change the perception of the Harbor Freight experience period. read more

I like the idea of Harbor Freight more than I like the actual store. It is nice to have a small hardware store to go into and not spend an hour looking for a screw driver unlike some of the other larger hardware stores. But I feel a lot of the stuff at Harbor Freight just isn't of the best quality. For little things like hand tools, locks and safety glasses, this is a fine store. For things like air compressors, engines, and chains saws, I would perfer to go else where and buy a more recognized brand. Maybe thats just me. This location is a good little store. Maybe not the easiest to get in and out of depending on what direction you are coming from. And the parking lot is tiny. But they have a lot in stock and I have found things that I've not seen any where else. The staff seems friendly but a bit sparse. In my experience, there is usually a line forming as only one cashier is working the registers and the other staff are running back and forth to the back for who knows what reason. Harbor Freight is not my go to hardware store but I do come in every few months and have a look around. Maybe I find something to buy. Maybe I don't. Either way, it is not too far from home and not terribly out of the way. Its alright. read more

I purchased one of this stores generators this spring . Predator 3500 inverter generator . Used it 4 times camping and on the last trip it stopped working . After only 86 hours of run time it stopped working . That is less than 4 days of actual use . Looks like Quality tools is just a marketing slogan not something the company stands for . No help from store and no help getting it repaired . I was hoping that they would just exchange it for a unit that works but no luck . Put it back in my truck and forgot about it until I needed a pump again. I had one of my guys pull it out, hoping maybe I had done something wrong...turns out it was my bad, never should of spent that kind of money at harbor freight! Harbor Freight is pretty Great. My Dad and I have been customers of this company for quite a while and really enjoy what they have to offer. If you need to grab some tools for a decent price then this is the spot for you. The store has a really nice layout to it and is usually pretty well stocked. The lines move pretty quickly and customer service is quite prompt. Last but not least keep an eye out for the deals i'm on their emailing list so i am always well informed about the mega sales going on. INCOMPETENT possibly FATAL EMPLOYEES!!!! Let me start - I love HF and been going for years, constantly an ITC member. Today there were a LOT of people in line and only one checker. When it comes my time to pay I put the item on the counter. Then I look up and no more than 2 feet from the cash box are disposable three fold masks hanging on the rack, $4.99. So I ask the young man if they are medical and he says yes. I buy them. I step outside into the sunlight and look again at the masks. It clearly says NONMEDICAL, so I turn around and go back in. Of course there is already another customer paying, and at least TEN people in line. I tell the young man that he told me they were medical and they are not and he needs to give me a refund. He tells me that I have to go to the back of the line. I must say that at no time did I yell or threaten. I did speak quite firmly. Finally the manager comes, gives me my refund from another register, and manages to squeeze in as I left "You know you really should have gone to the back of the line". What if I hadn't seen the NONMEDICAL. Just opened the package and started using them. I am 64 years old. We are in the middle of a Pandemic and this punk is threatening MY LIFE???????????? I should call the Southern Nevada Health District. In the meantime, be very careful about what any salesman tells you about any product, maybe because this is a very new store and they haven't gotten or trained anyone. Just for the record, I have returned things at this store before. Don't know her name but I believe she is the main manager, she is a little bit older, very slender, ponytail? Just bought the cart on sale for $189. A big piece of shit. Almost had it together before I found the damage, probably from shipping. I finished building it. Not thrilled. Should of got the cart off the tool truck. This cart DOES NOT WHAT SO EVER compare to a snap on cart. It's cheep, but I got it for the soul purpose to do what it's made for. So buyer beware. Have them open it up completely before laying money down. Look on the inside back corners for it being crushed. This is a cheep piece of shit. Also I was shorted hardware, but not a biggie. Just a reminder to not judge a book by its cover . I may be young but I spend thousands of dollars with harbor freight every year . Customer service is often great via the females of the store & the one other younger male who works there . However . Last night I purchased a set of wheel dollies for my boat trailer . They didn't really work because I have 4 wheels on my trailer . No biggie , I was gonna buy two more today. As I'm standing in line with others all of the sudden the male with long hair working the register told me I'm no longer in line and to go to the back of the other line formed . I legit didn't think he was talking to me . Then he escalated his voice & I asked if he was serious & if he was gonna serve me . He said not unless I went to the back of the other line . Ridiculous . He served the two people in front of me & all of the sudden I'm just not gonna get served ? I even asked the other customers around me if I was in the wrong and they agreed I had been waiting like the rest of them . Alright cool , I tossed down the stuff I was gonna buy , called corporate and made a report , and went home for the other two dollies I had bought the night before & I already returned them . This store has friendly, helpful employees, a decently-sized parking lot (although the large trucks are a bit big for the striping), and they have clean restrooms if you spend too long browsing and have to go. I came in with my 20% off coupon and found the display item for a trailer hitch cargo carrier, good deal with the discount! I took the stock card out of the holder and went to the cashier, apparently they won't ring up your item until they find it in the warehouse, so I stepped aside and waited. 10 minutes go by and the cashier is telling me they will bring it out soon, then more waiting....20 minutes, no response from the warehouse....Then over 1/2 hour and the cashier asks if I still want the item. What???? Really???! I can see the terminal on the cashier's display and it said they had 3 in stock. Then finally the cashier says they don't have it and I said why did I wait to long to find that out and I asked to speak to a manager. To make a long story short, I walked out without anything except 45 minutes of my day wasted! The manager says to me, "Have a good day" and I don't take that in a good sincere way, I take it as, "get the hell out of my store" if you know what I mean. I will now shop at the store on Sunset, it's miles away from my house, but at least they know what they are doing over there. Today Monday Nov. 26 2018 at 12noon I stopped into this store location in search of a Gun Safe. Supervisor James was extremely polite and helpful and was able to find for me exactly what I was looking for. However not everyone in the store was as helpful as James. The person who fetched the item for me had a terrible attitude he brought me a box with a huge tear at the bottom and scratches on the actual item, and when instructed by James to please get me another box he snickered and said "no I dont want to, go get it yourself". I had explained to James that this was a very special Christmas present for my husband so he understood completely that I wanted an item in it's best shape. After being brought another box I went to the register to complete my purchase and the woman working there also had a very nasty attitude, her sheer facial expressions were far from appealing, she was rude and rushed me, mind you there was noone else in line waiting. Just giving you some background information about myself, I work in healthcare and if I ever behaved this way towards my patients I would loose my Job in a heartbeat. These individuals that was working during this shift need to have a chat with your HR department immediately! Their rude behavior towards costumers and their Superior (James) is unacceptable! As a costumer I was completely disgusted and quite frankly I regret renewing my husband's membership with Harbor Freight because of this! This is the holiday season, and it should be a delightful shopping experience wherever you go, what I experienced here today was a complete trainwreck to say the least. If they are not happy working ther, I suggest a change in profession. Thank you so much James for your hard work and dedication, it clearly shows why they made you supervisor as opposed to your peers!
