If you want to clean the floor of the bathroom of the previous tenants hair and layers of fuzz from weeks, it will do. If you'd like to look at a coffee maker that looks to harbor a science experiment, it will do. If you'd like to find random pills on the floor, it will do. If it's the only place in town until the Airbnb opens up and a place to lay your head it will also do. But really not good all together. read more

I'm not sure what the bad reviews are all about , we showed up @ at 1045 am . Both a little worn out from the night before and misjudging our travel time , we new check in was at 2pm but we thought we'd see if the room was ready , the person working said it was being cleaned and to come back in 1 hour .we returned at noon our room was clean spacious and ready to go . The place located in centrally so you have many options to grocery and food within walking distance. Big plus. Not a fancy place. We had two queen bed room. Clean bed rooms. TV channels are very limited. I believe only 8 or 9 channels. No Air Condition. Fans only. This may be an issue for hot summer days if you decided stay. Breakfast (7.00am to 8.30am) is "Really" basic consists of 3 different types of cereals. Some sweet danish pastry. As for drinks you get Milk, Orange juice and coffee. Customer Service: Sabrina is the manager who runs the show there. She cleans the breakfast arrangement on the dot 8.30. Even if you late couple of minutes she would not help you. I want to get some orange juice for my son so, I arrived just couple of minutes after breakfast and she would not offer any help getting juice. Although the fridge is located in next room... This was the cleanest motel room I have ever seen in my life. I spent the last two nights there, with pandemic in full swing. Not a fancy place. Thin walls, kinda worn towels. Spacious room, even with the king bed in the middle. Oh and gigabit WiFi. And very very clean. These days, that's what I want. They're taking the pandemic very seriously. There is a separate door to each room from an outside corridor/balcony. The no-contact checkin worked great. The cleanliness turned into a bit of a game for me. I kept thinking of obscure places to look for an imperfection. "Maybe if I look on top of that picture..." But everything was spotless, dustless, shiny, perfect. Cleaner than any of the upscale places I've ever stayed in Las Vegas or San Francisco. read more

I would give them less if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I asked my family from the island where would be a good place to stay and I was told this is usually the hotel other family stays at when they come to visit. I booked my room MONTHS ahead of time for Mothers Day weekend for my great grandmas 100th birthday so that's two very important dates that are hard to mess up yet they did. They booked me for the right dates but for the month before. I was charged a fee for not showing up (not a cheap fee). I called the hotel and they made sure we would have a room for when got there and said I would have to talk to someone about getting that charge handled. The day we get there and check in some guy is working the counter and was super nice and I explain what happened to him and he told us to talk to Sabrina the manager the next morning and it shouldn't be a problem and he was sure we would get refunded. The next morning comes along and my fiance and I go to meet Sabrina. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I MET SOMEONE SO RUDE. I have worked in the customer service industry for about 10 years now and if I ever gave someone the attitude she gave us I would have been in deep trouble..or if I ever heard one of my employees talking the way she did I would have written them up and told them one more time you are done. She was super rude and refused to give me my money back even though THEY messed up the month on the reservation not me. They claimed they called me but we looked up our cell phone records (yes we went that far to prove them wrong) and found no call from them. My fiance who was beyond mad asked for the contact info for the owner and she refused to give us anything but his name (which is Richard in case anyone needs it). She said "he wont do anything about it either." So we said fine we will be writing a bad review on yelp and will be telling EVERYONE in the family to stay away from this place. We have a lot of family that comes up here every year so sucks for them cause now they are losing out on business and I hope the owner sees this so Sabrina can get talked to cause she needs to get over herself. read more

It is a low budget motel mostly used by transients or temporary labor workers. Which is cool if that's what you are there for, but it is not a family or vacation atmosphere. The best thing about it is it looks lovely from the outside, not so nice inside. read more

This place was feasible. Would not recommend to anyone. Upon opening door, room smelled musty and old. Light above table didn't wrk,& towels had a moldy/musty smell like they sat in the wash overnight before drying. Theres nothing in this town to do after 5 pm, as everything closes. Everything is 80s style. Kids were loud and obnoxious till 1230 am! From downstairs(the walls are thin) my husband made me wait to see if the front office do anything about our complaints and they never called, so now im yelping it. read more

"It's beautiful" whispers my 5 year old niece. Apparently any place with blooming wisteria arching over doorways has a magical effect on her. Making arrangements for the family's visit over Memorial Day weekend I called the Harbour Inn Motel to reserve three rooms for our overnight on Whidbey. My choices in places to stay were limited by a) the number of rooms we wanted for one night and b) having the puppy dog with us on this adventure. But the Harbour Inn was happy to accommodate. I was hoping the Inn would be a little more secluded in Freeland, but it was right off the main road across from a shopping center. It really had everything we needed for a one-nighter. Very large rooms - which was nice when I had "guests" over for some afternoon wine and watching "The Ladies" play hide and go seek. Comfy - and clean - beds. Grassy area so the kids could run Fergus ragged in the evening and before our ferry ride home the next morning. The prices were reasonable as well. I paid the most (since I had the dog) and was under $140 with taxes. Not too bad for a holiday weekend. I'm sure I would go back sometime if I had family in tow . . . but for a more romantic getaway I would choose one of the bed and breakfasts in the area. read more

This is a nice, clean, generic hotel. It is easy to find and right across the street from a grocery store just off of the highway going through town. The parking lot gets cramped when the hotel is fully booked (we stayed here for 4th of July), but we all still fit. I am on crutches so we requested a first floor room as they do not have an elevator (FYI). Our room was clean and actually quite large! As most smaller hotels in this area, they do not have A/C, but did provide an oscillating stand fan in our room in case it was too warm (which we didn't end up using). My dad made our reservation, along with their room, and out a deposit down. However when we checked in, the gal at the reception desk was apparently new and got confused when my husband and dad both checked in and would then pay the remaining balance separately. We somehow ended up paying over $200 (!!!) for our one-queen room. Then next morning dad went down to the office and talked to someone else about the pricing. I'm not sure how the girl before screwed it up, but the morning person fixed everything and we were in our way. Overall- a nice little hotel on the island. read more

Well you would think in a small town like Freeland that the harbor in would have a small-town mentality but no they have big city greed. You better make sure that if somebody dies in your family and you have a reservation that you'll be there anyway because they will charge you anyway they don't care they would not even give the option to move the room to another date just sorry about your luck. We just spent two nights at this motel in Whidbey - it was a total of $420 for the two nights. (this includes an additional fee for bringing dogs) First issue - they charged us $33 dollars for towels after our visit. We did not receive a call or notification - instead we found out because we called them after we noticed a charge on our card. Apparently the towels were stained and it was $33 to replace them? First of all - how are towels not part of wear and tear at a motel? Why provide towels if we are unable to use them - yes, they may have gotten makeup on them, but honestly I am in shock that that they would be considered "damaged". I used the washcloths to wash my face as I would at my own home, which I have never had an issue with them being stained afterward washing them. Also it was very apparent that the towels had been used MANY time and were very thin. Second Issue - Yes, they "allow" dogs but not until you arrive do they tell you they do not want them left in the room. We originally were not even going to bring our dogs but after speaking with the person at the front desk prior to our visit they shuffled a few things around and made sure we had a dog friendly room. This was over a multiple calls- why would they have not said anything about dogs not being left in rooms? We were on Whidbey to attend a wedding - were we supposed to bring our dogs with us? During the week our dogs are alone 8 hours a day while we are at work - so it's not like it was something our dogs would not be used to. This whole situation caused us a lot of stress and we had to leave the rehearsal early and make frequent visits back from the preplanned wedding activities to ensure our dogs were not barking. We would have NEVER brought our dogs if we knew this would be an issue. I rarely post reviews but this was such a bad/stressful experience I just really want to warn anyone who plans to stay here. Apparently bring your own towels and DO NOT bring your dogs. read more

The most friendly experience I have ever had. It startd when they tried to charge us more then what we had agreed on and paid the deposit on. The general manager was very mean and rude. Talking to other guests they experienced the same thing. The room's smelled terrible there was no clock in the room and breakfast quote on quote that we were told would be ready at 8 was not ready until 9 and it existed of a hard-boiled egg and a scone. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone if it's a last resort I would grab a sleeping bag and sleep on the street. Finally giving it one star his too much. read more

This is a motel - a very traditional, 2 story, no frills motel. But in the world of motels this is a nice place to stay. And on an island brimming with B&Bs it's a nice, low cost alternative to pricier accommodations. The decor is basic and motel-drab, but the property and rooms are spotless and kept in great repair. Each room has a good sized mini-fridge and microwave and the rooms are spacious. The owner, a former documentary filmmaker, bought the property with his wife in an effort to change careers and wants to maintain the motel as a nice place to stay. In keeping with this goal, the motel office closes at 10 pm each night so that it doesn't become an attractive place for hook-ups or low-life characters. This is not a no-tell motel, but rather a low cost alternatives for families on the road. If I were traveling in this area I would stay here again. read more

Good, clean motel that seems to be recently renovated. The bed was nice and firm and room very large. Was passing through and stayed for the one night. We were travelling with a group of people and we all sat out in the front in the grass with beers. There is a grocery store across the road and a few restaurants around. Good location. read more

We were extremely disappointed with several aspects of this motel and we only stayed one night! First, we were not informed of a two night minimum when we booked the room for only a Saturday night. Beware. Second, there is NO A/C in these rooms. It was miserable. Everyone was forced to have their front doors open! Finally, the toilet didn't work ( no water!) and the next morning I got a very, VERY rude reaction from the front desk woman saying that she already knew of that problem ( and didn't fix it??!!) and that I should have known to simply flip up the handle. Which was NOT the problem. We are NEVER returning to this place, and I would Not recommend it. read more

Yes, they allow dogs...but they don't tell you ahead of time that the dog is not allowed to be left alone in the room (so apparently I was supposed to bring her to the wedding or leave her in the car to suffocate) and isn't allowed on the bed (good luck telling that to my dog while I'm fast asleep). Not to mention the room was hot as Hades and smelled funny. The one redeeming quality was the guy who was very nice and empathetic when reprimanding me. As expected, this hotel is nothing fancy but is very clean, quiet, and easy to get to off the ferry. There were two large grassy areas for our dog and there is a grocery store just across the street with great coffee and donuts! The service was what made it a 5 star experience for us; our infant came down with a fever and we had to end our vacation early. They could have held us accountable for the extra nights we had booked, but instead they graciously just charged us for the one night we stayed. read more

Nothing fancy, the rooms are slightly dated but very spacious, and clean. The hosts are very considerate and accomodating. I brought my dog up for a few days on Whidbey, and this was the ideal home base for the two of us. They have some dog-friendly rooms on the 1st floor and a wonderul expansve lawn nearby for early morning relief. The Inn is centrally located with a market across the street and 2 great little restaurants within walking distance. read more

Do not stay here. Internet doesn't work, staff was rude and threatening. They don't like to clean everyday if you stay more than a few days. I was here for over 2 weeks and regretted coming home everynight. You get way more value from one of the bed and breakfasts on the island. read more

My daughter and I were planning on staying here while vising family on the island. When I parked and walked into the office a man immediately came out of his room I just walked by and stood in front while watching the office. After checking in I realized the room they gave me was next to this mans room. He went into the office and appeared to be making small talk. I got the impression he was an extended stay resident. My daughter and I went to visit family and get dinner and decided we felt uneasy about staying there next to his room. In the end we decided not to stay because it was meant to be fun and relaxing to get a hotel room. I thought about changing rooms, but when we returned there were two more men standing outside of their rooms in stained clothing and also appeared to be extended stay residence. I returned my key two hours after checking in and we never put our bags inside. They said I couldn't get a refund. As a woman with a child we felt a little uneasy. Maybe it was fine, but having that man come out immediately after I walked past his window and watch me was odd in the least. The man that checked us in was friendly and I can't comment on the room itself. Also, to note, they didn't wear a mask when checking me in. read more

Awful experience. Our hotel room was un-inhabitable. It was well over 80 degrees in the room, as the hotel has NO AIR-CONDITIONING. We tried using a cheap fan that they had in the room and opened the windows, but the noise outside (the road, sirens, and a cab driver who parked and had a loud conversation outside our room) was too much to get any rest. I went to the front desk to see what could be done, but the woman at the front desk was useless and just kept shrugging her shoulders...she couldn't care less. Once we realized we couldn't stay here, we informed her that we had to leave....they still are trying to charge us for one day, even though we were briefly there for 3 hours. DON'T BOOK THIS MOTEL....it's a rip-off. read more
