This is not a 5* Hyatt so the other reviews that bash this place need to temper their expectations. The location location is perfect. A short walk to the park and beach. There is a road that takes you along the homes to the conference center and beach. The pool is only open in the summer. Love watching the sunset from the beach here. The home is old and floorboards squeak. But that should be expected. Decor is in keeping with the history of the building. Board games were available and a book on the history of the base and homes was a cool read.

We stayed in Unit 8, and chose it specifically because it said there was a shower/tub combo. While I would have enjoyed a soak in a big clawfoot tub, I wanted to make sure my grandparents were comfortable getting in and out of wherever we were bathing. It was perfect, and would be perfect for those with kids too. There are plenty of easily accessible trails with great views right out the front door. The kitchen was big and well stocked with cooking supplies, but we only ever used it to cook breakfast. We would often drive into nearby Coupeville for lunch and dinner, and there were plenty of great things to eat there! It's also within a very short drive of the trails at Eby's Landing. The views are amazing. It was still cool when we visited, but we could see how it could get hot. You don't really need A/C up in the Northwest, but a fan would be nice! We're used to sleeping with a fan, so we had to use a fan app on our phone because it's so quiet out there. The WiFi was good for what little we used it for (checking email and facebook mostly). Saw a lot of wildlife, including a mama deer and her two fawns. Overall, we had a very great time and hope to come back.

This lasted until 5 in the morning when they turned it off. Sure, occasionally you'll run into an inconsiderate guest. The next night, the same thing happened. I finally had enough at 4 in the morning and went to find the room and complain. When I knocked and knocked, no answer. I asked a woman in the lobby if the room was hers and she finally said it was but refused to turn the TV down. I used the phone in the lobby to contact the manager for late check ins, yet it didn't connect me with anyone.

This is a big deal to someone suseptible to strong odors. The quality furniture, pictures and TV with tons of cable stations are a huge bonus. Absolutely spotless without even a discoloration mark on the grout in the bathroom. The carpet was clean, too. The staff are warm and friendly and we were surprised to have bagels and muffins at check out. All of this with the low price tag makes it a real bargain!

It's a comfy peaceful nights rest for all three of us. An important pet rule; although it should be common sense if you're a responsible pet owner: "don't leave your dog alone in your room!" Service at the front desk and housekeeping are genuinely friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately, the neighbors upstairs went out to party and came back between 12am and 1am... The first person clomping up the stairs woke me and was slightly annoying, but when the drunk people started arriving giggling, talking loudly, and falling around up the stairs - that was annoying! I don't know if it was the same group or other guests, but after being woke up the 4th or 5th time - I was pretty frustrated and had trouble getting back to sleep. I told the front desk clerk in the morning, and he apologized saying he'd talk to the guests staying upstairs. Instead of enjoying Port Townsend the next day, we just drove the 2 hours home in the morning so we could get some sleep. II doubt I'll splurge (nearly $300 for the sleepless night) at this hotel again due to the noise issues. Maybe the cabins would be a better experience. And likely this was just situational - if all the guests were like the people in the room next to us, we would have had a much better experience. We complained that the bed was super hard and felt like sleeping on the floor so they offered a refund which was nice for the rest of the time but we could not afford to change so we stayed and dealt with it which I would have left a four star review for the customer service but after finding out they blocked us, it is the true one star review because of multiple factors. They are not insulated well so you can hear everything your neighbor does so we didn't sleep well because of the bed plus noise. The place had no silverware at all yet it had a knife and cutting board with wine opener? It was also dirty, we had to clean the sink which had brown crud all over the bottom which wiped away easily showing the cleaning service does the absolutely bare minimum and likely doesn't really scrub anything, the tea kettle had white crust all on the inside and same with the coffee maker so I had to clean both myself as well. The heater was great but the chairs for the table were super unstable and cannot support an adult. The view was great despite being blocked by power lines. Parking was perfect. We would not stay here again given the owners poor ability to accept anything but a five star review and the uncomfortable bed.

This B&B offers four different rooms, one with a private bath and three that share two bathrooms. All of the rooms are sparkling clean, extremely comfortable, and beautifully sunlit (and have lovely views). The 1895 farmhouse is a stunner, and you might recognize its photo because it was on the cover of a seed catalog in 2001! The real highlight of this place is the breakfast. There's an onsite chicken coop, and the eggs will be fresh, as in this-morning fresh, and oh my, they are FANTASTIC. And Christian is also a talented baker of buttermilk biscuits. They are just a few miles away from the island's farmers' market, so fresh fruit and vegetables either come from their garden or a neighbor's, essentially. No children, no smoking, no pets... it's a quiet nirvana. And it's cheap in the winter, all rooms $99/night, and as their website says, free hugs from the innkeepers too. :-) They are delightful, trusting and gentle people, and you will feel refreshed if you accept their hospitality.

It is located on Cattle Point very near to several great beaches and American Camp, part of San Juan National Historic Park. By car it's about 10 minutes from Friday Harbor. Its hosts are Christian and Lea Andrade, two of the friendliest and kindest people we know. The inn is located in a historic farmhouse and the rooms are all well-maintained and comfortable. Our favorite is the Garden Room located off the kitchen. The breakfasts consist of a smoothie, a fruit dish, a baked egg dish and baked goods like biscuits or muffins. Everything is always delicious. Although there is a lot to do on San Juan Island, we always take time to relax at the inn and enjoy the peace and quiet on their pretty deck or on the grounds with beautiful flower gardens, yard art, and a chicken coop populated by lots of hens. We also enjoy visiting with the hosts, who are very knowledgeable about the island. Whether it's helping you plan a trek to the beach, identifying a particular type of owl you saw perched on a street sign, or inviting you to listen to them as they practice with their wonderful marimba band, the Andrades are at the top of our list for B&B hosts. We can't wait for our next visit!
