Such a special and surreally beautiful place! Jenn is so kind and accommodating, and took us on a personal tour of the property when we checked in. We stayed in Cabin 4 which has huge windows/sea views, gorgeous sunsets, and a deck perfect for stargazing (The night sky views are mind blowing!) The king bed is super comfy, and there is a kitchen with everything you might need, as well as board games and puzzles. Everything inside and out is lovingly cared for. There is also a private beach with the prettiest little forest path leading up to it, and lots of seashells and cute birds and otters! You could honestly spend a whole trip on the property enjoying the views and taking walks along the beach. We adored our stay and will definitely be back next time we visit Port Townsend read more

Absolutely stunning property. Stayed two nights in cabin four. You cannot beat the views both from inside the fully stocked cabin or outside on the deck. Walking the private beach, playing board games and spotting bald eagles on the deck, and playing shuffle board were also favorited activities. I just wish we spent more time! read more

Stayed in cabin 10 here (the blue one) when I came for a 5 day wood carving class at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking. It was about a 15 min drive, but I wasn't impressed with any of the hotels or properties recommended around there especially for the high prices. Lucked upon these cabins on a Yelp search and could not believe how nice they looked and how reasonable the price was. I booked immediately, but was concerned in the back of my mind before I got there that my expectations were going to be too high. But the cabin was even better than I hoped. I met the owner who gave me a tour of the property. The communication was excellent prior to arrival. The cabin was clean, comfortable, it was the perfect space for what I needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the heater was nice overnight when it got cold. The kitchen was well stocked for only having a fridge and microwave. The claw foot tub was fun to take a bath in, relaxing after a hard day of wood working. The grounds are absolutely stunning, ocean views from the grass right out front, short walk to the private beach area. Unfortunately I was so busy I didn't really get to explore, but maybe will have a chance to stay here again. The extra drive was absolutely worth it, this place is amazing and you truly can't beat the price! read more

We've since stayed in the "Meadow House" and it was wonderful too! It had lots of space, even a washer and dryer! Of course the amenities are fabulous, they even had a supply of laundry soap! Large deck to enjoy and beautiful grounds with all the lush greenery and flowers. It's more secluded, being it's not on the same grounds as the other cabins but the owners pay no less attention to making sure you are taken care of and have the best experience they can provide with your lodging. So clean, stocked and inviting w/ wonderful views and yard/deck to enjoy anytime of the year. read more

As we were leaving the cabins this morning, I said: "I have never felt so good about having stayed in a place." This is a peaceful little getaway, a true home-away-from-home. We were greeted warmly, by name, by Joanna -- who even remembered that it was my partner's birthday. Our cabin was Cabin 7, a little studio with a kitchenette furnished with coffee, creamer, a microwave, a fridge, a clawfoot tub, an iPod dock....seriously, this place is better than my house. Little details rule. Real feather pillows, plenty of extra towels and toilet paper, and a corkscrew. You even get your own little front porch with two sloping Adirondack chairs that beg you to sit in them while you sip a glass of wine (fortunately, our cabin was also furnished with wine glasses.) Our stay here entitled us to use of their private beach, a 5 minute walk downhill to a gorgeous stretch of shell-encrusted shore on Discovery Bay. We think we saw an otter here. We had an AMAZING time. I feel so rested and relaxed...these people are awesome. read more

I love Chevy Chase, it was such a treat to stay at Thatcher and company's establishment. My fiance and I stayed in cabin #7, the yellow cottage. The phrase, "well-appointed" was my most commonly used term to describe it. From the I-Pod docking station to the ground coffee and cream in the fridge-it's clear details matter. Also, I loved the large bathtub with claw feet-that was yet another luxury! Other perks: a beautiful beach with opportunities to hunt for clams is five minutes away, stunning views, Scout the dog, and a nice DVD collection. It's also a well-maintained property, with a nicely groomed lawn and a child's swing to boot. I'm counting the months before I can come back and stay here. I'll definitely be back. read more

My girlfriends and I stayed here recently for a weekend away. It was all of our first time at CCBC and we couldn't have loved it more! We stayed in Cabin 6 which, in our estimation, has the best view. The cabin was cozy, well laid out, comfortable and delightful. The kitchen is well set up with everything you might need. The living room is nice with wonderful places to curl up with a book or watch a movie. The beds are very comfortable. If you do stay in this cabin read through the guest books. There is some fun reading. Scout, the property dog, is so sweet. There were two children in a neighboring cabin who had not been around dogs before and the little girl was afraid. Scout was patient and calm and by the end of their stay the girl was following Scout around and couldn't get enough of her. You can also bring your dog ($20 per night fee) and they are well set up for your pooch. They bring sheets to place on furniture to help to keep things clean and provide doggy treats as well. The beach is relatively easy to get to and peaceful. We were sprayed by a few clams, both fun and startling. We wished that we'd realized earlier in our stay that the pool was heated. The weather during our stay was 60s and rainy and a dip in a cold pool didn't sound appealing. But once we went to check it out and the temperature was warm (not hot) and so nice to spend time in! Port Townsend is a great little town with fun shops and restaurants. In short, we loved it and can't wait to go back. Be aware, they get booked up way in advance so make your reservations early! read more

SO LOVELY! We had an incredible time and loved stayed here! Our cabin was fantastic! We stayed in #7, the yellow house, and it really has everything that you need for a weekend or even longer stay. Even though it didn't have a full kitchen, we were pleasantly surprised to find dishes, ground coffee, cream in the refrigerator, wine glasses and opener and plenty of other kitchen dishes/tools. The grounds are incredible! It was beautiful in the winter but we want to also go back in the summer. They have a big pool, bocce ball, tennis, croquet and its right on the beach so its perfect for a stroll in the sand. This place was very romantic but I could see it being perfect for families too. I highly recommend!! Oh and one other tip, take slippers! The cabin was warm with the heat on, but the wood floor was a bit chilly. read more

We stayed at the end of June. There are no words to adequately describe the serenity of Cabin 4. I woke each morning to the most amazing views from my bed that I continued to enjoy from the huge private patio perched on the cliff's edge. There was even a rainbow one morning as I watched the clouds reflected in the bay. We have two pups- a 125 lb Bernese and a 65 lb Red Healer- Jenn and Jeff really know how to welcome you and your dogs. A previous reviewer mentioned they did not see any evidence of dogs having stayed in their cabin. I will tell you why. We were given multiple sheets and towels just for our dogs so we could keep the beds, furniture and floors clean. People who come here are responsible dog owners. We spent our days at Hurricane Ridge, Port Townsend, Dungenesss Bay and Port Angeles coming home each night to BBQ or cook something simple for dinner. Dessert was a class of wine for me and a beer for my husband on the deck while our dogs played. Yes the beach at the bottom of the hill is great. There are huge lawns up top and a lower lawn midway to beach for doggie romping. I generally do not return somewhere I've already been since there is just so much to see in this world. I will return here. Just amazing. read more

We stayed in cabin four for a few nights. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well-stocked. The bed was the best thing ever. Great mattress, a very heavy down comforter and fluffy pillows made for a wonderful night's sleep. The view, as everybody has mentioned, is pretty darn fine. Even the surroundings including the other cabins and grounds are gorgeous. After a short hike down to the quiet beach there were plenty of sand dollars and we also found some sea glass. Really enjoyed the loon calls across the bay every evening. There really didn't seem to be much nearby in the way of restaurants so expect to bring your own food or drive into central Port Townsend for meals. It is *very* doggy. Not in the cabin, it was spotless, but dogs will hang out on your deck, dogs could beg entry into your cabin and other guest's dogs might be barking late at night next to your bedroom window. Ahem. The only real 'meh' thing about our stay - fall fruit gnat invasion! Hundreds of them! We couldn't eat without swarms around our faces. Not a huge deal, but it was disappointing to learn that the employee we spoke to knew about it, but didn't do anything (uh, gnat traps?) before we arrived. read more

Just outside of Port Townsend is this incredible private beach that those who are lucky enough to book a stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins will get to experience. The beach at low tide is miles of sandy, peaceful, paradise and it is just a min stroll down from the cutest and most picturesque cabins. I've stayed at the Clubhouse and Homestead. Both were very clean, very well stocked and comfortably accommodated my husband, me, and our dog, Abby. The Clubhouse has gorgeous views. Homestead has a private fenced yard and plenty of room for a group as we had another couple and their dog stay with us the weekend we stayed in Homestead cabin. The entire grounds are well cared for. The husband and wife who own the property are truly the kindest people and it's so evident their heart and soul goes into making your stay as memorable, peaceful and relaxing as possible. read more

Our family has visited CCBC a few times we and absolutely LOVE it! As soon as you step on the grounds, you begin to relax as you take in the incredible view, lush lawn, inviting cabins and even a pool. It's always special when Scout comes out to greet you. They have thought of everything here. We stayed in the Club House and it was the perfect size, with a full kitchen and everything we needed to cook, clean, enjoy. There is a small deck, gas grill, large fireplace, ample seating and lounging areas. There is a large dining table and the bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. Our boys loved the freedom of movement both on the grounds and the short walk to the beach. Port Townsend has a great vibe with lots of shopping, many eating spots and places to run around right on the water. We are already booked for next year! read more

Just returned from November 1/2, 2020 stay at Chevy Chase Beach's cabin number six in Port Townsend Washington. The upscale rustic scenic getaway on discovery Bay in Port Townsend Washington is five star plus. as we enter the compound with our masks, Jenn, the owner, was putting the final touches on our cabin: fresh flowers, lots of doggie blankets and sheets to cover the furniture, and a set up in the fireplace for our welcome. Jeff, the owner, welcomed us and said that he would provide extra kindling and dry wood for the fireplace. Cabin six is a two bedroom cabin. It was immaculately clean. Even in November the windows were open to allow fresh air and woodsy smells to permeate the entire cabin. The beds are very luxurious with down comforters, extra puffy mattress covers, very good quality linens and four pillows for your comfort. Eachroom has a wall heater. The fireplace radiates more heat then we needed but the 'ambience' won. The grounds are awesome overlooking Discovery Bay with an easy walking trail with wooden bridge to reach the beach. The kitchen is almost 'gourmet' with everything that you could possibly need to cook a romantic meal. This is the kind of place you don't want to leave, so plan to bring food for a romantic meal cooked in , or maybe on the deck with the Weber Grill and a glass or two of bubbly. I chose this place for a weekend getaway based on the first Yelp review and I totally agree! Everyone was so nice and helpful -- and the place was immaculate. My 2-year-old son loved running around the big lawn, "playing" croquet and shuffleboard, and walking down to the beach. We stayed in #10, and it was a clean and fresh little studio that easily accommodated a pack-n-play. Would love to stay in #4 or #6 (overlooking the water), but #10 would be great again, too! They allow dogs, although there was absolutely no trace of previous dog visitors in our room. read more

I've been coming here ever since I was a kid and I love this place! Beautiful location, great cabins with beach access. It is on Discovery Bay, which is a beautiful bay with lots of area to walk, boat, and swim. If you are looking for a weekend getaway, look no further. Gorgeous in summer and fall. Love Port Townsend - it is about a 20 min drive from Chevy Chase. Cute place to walk around, eat, and shop. They book up fast so plan ahead! Highly recommend. Second year celebrating Christmas with family in Port Townsend. We once again rented two of the cabins at Chevy Chase (the Clubhouse and Cabin #7), and cannot say enough about how great they are. The staff took care of getting us extra place settings and folding chairs to accommodate our large crew, and paid attention to every detail to make our trip amazing. How have I not written this review yet?! Maybe because I secretly don't want anyone else to find out about how fantastic the beach cabins are so that in some freak act of desperation, they email me and invite me to come stay for 7 nights for the price of 2? PLEASE?! Oh. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Let me just tell you about the amazingness then. We stayed here (in cabin #4) for one night last fall. They usually require a 2 night stay but on a whim, we decided one morning we wanted to go up to Port Townsend for a loosely structured cider tasting tour. According to the website, cabin 4 was open that night but reserved for the following, so we called and asked if we could book just the single night - assuming they'd rather not let a cabin sit empty. They said that wouldn't be a problem, we packed up (including dog beast and his crate) and got on the road. When we arrived, Jeff and Jen were out but had left a note telling us how to get to the cabin. Inside we found a greeting letter and a lovely, lovely place to stay. The cabin included a medium sized living room, good sized kitchen and a quite large bedroom. We moved a chair in the bedroom and were left with ample room to set up the pup's crate (which isn't small seeing as he's a 75 lb beast of a pup). We went out exploring and cider tasting and stopped at a grocery store on the way back to pick up foods for dinner and breakfast. When coming back from our day, we bumped into Jeff coming back with his brother and Scout the dog wanting to play fetch. We stopped and chatted for a bit as they were super friendly and I wanted to take Scout back with us to play with Woody dog, but I think she was happy to keep running amok outside. The rest of the night was mellow and the kitchen was totally stocked with everything needed to cook any meal I could think of. In the morning, we leisurely got up and made breakfast and enjoyed the water view in the cabin, even through the fog/mist of the weather. I'm sure summer is AMAZING. I took Woody down to the beach, which was peaceful - not a single other person to be seen - and let him frolic about until it was time to head back and pack up to (insert giant frown here) leave. If I ever end up obscenely wealthy, I will rent the whole property out once a year and bring all my friends to have some kind of crazy, fancy summer camp for grown ups. Until then, I'll plan at least a long weekend of vacation time over the summer to use for another lovely, relaxing stay. read more

Recently stayed in the Meadow House at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins with my husband and my parents. The Meadow House is roomy and set apart from the rest of the cabins, with 2 good-sized bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The beds were OK; not super comfortable but not bad. The only issue we had was the army of mosquitos we had to fight off the 2nd night we were there (likely from the nearby pond). Staff members, esp Scout the Dog, were super friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but next time, we'll bring bug spray. read more

Lovely cabins on Discovery Bay in Port Townsend! We were impressed the minute we saw our cabin (cabin 4). It was small, on the bluff with a deck overlooking the waves and mountains. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could possibly need for cooking and enjoying the two nights we had there. I definitely wish we could have stayed longer. Forever would be good. It was stormy outside, but in our cozy bed, we could listen to the wind raging and the waves crashing and watch the clouds zooming past the moon. We had our dog with us, and she loved the walks around the grounds and on the beach. It is close to town, which is great. Port Townsend has wonderful restaurants and shopping. I think next time, we will just bring food and cook all of our own meals, so we don't have to leave. read more

So happy we stumbled upon this great location! We stayed in the Homestead House and it was absolutely perfect. The house was clean and came well equipped with everything we needed from pots, pans, plates and glasses to games, DVDs and books. They also provide doggie towels and sheets because they are pet owners too and understand that even the best behaved dogs love the couch and bed sometimes. Another thoughtful gesture - homemade treats for our dog which he devoured. Lots to do right on the grounds - we were able to play tetherball and shuffleboard outside when the rain stopped and walk down to the beach to collect shells and let the dog swim and play. This location would be a great place for a wedding or family reunion. Loved it and would definitely return! read more

CCBC is simply fantastic! We've been visiting CCBC at least on an annual basis for the last 10+ years. We've stayed in Cabin #4 which has the best view on the property! We've migrated to the Clubhouse to enjoy the gas fireplace and room for our dogs. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the beach is a 5 minute walk down a easy sloping path (great for those of us who can't climb steep hills!). It's the perfect getaway to either hide away in your cabin for the weekend or explore the many activities that are nearby (wine tasting, breweries, lavendar farms, shopping, etc.). Barbara, Thatcher and Joanna are absolutely amazing and will go out of their way to accommodate your request. We highly recommend a visit to CCBC! read more

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-June and was lucky that the weather turned out gorgeous for the weekend. The property is very private, so it is a great short weekend escape from the bustle of Seattle. It was an amazingly relaxing vacation with 2 kids and a dog in tow. The property is beautifully kept and the setting is very, very peaceful. An hour into our arrival, we already wished we had booked for a few additional nights. We stayed at the Clubhouse and it was very clean and comfortable. The casual decor matched the relaxed atmosphere with the beautiful expansive view of Discovery Bay. The house smelled wonderful with the windows open. My husband is very picky about lodging cleanliness. He was very impressed with how clean and orderly everything was. There was an ample of towels in the bathroom and sheets for the dog. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and there is a grill outside. You can choose to steam, grill, bake (rolling pins, blender, etc were provided) or stir-fry. They had enough dinnerware to serve a party of 12. The owners thought of everything! So, if you wish to cook on-site, you only need to get the ingredients from Safeway or QFC which is a short ~10 minutes drive away. Dine-out options are abundantly amazing in Port Townsend and we thoroughly enjoyed sampling the great food at many of the highly recommended places on Yelp. We are already planning to visit Chevy Chase again soon! read more

Chevy Chase Cabins on Washington's Olympic Peninsula provides the type of stellar experience that comes along only every once in awhile. When it does, revel in the experience and don't let go. There are cabins with stunning cliff-side views of Discovery Bay and the Olympic Mountains, cabins that house a couple people, and those that can accommodate larger parties. If you enjoy creature comforts, you don't need to fear the word "cabin" at this place. Each unique lodging manages to provide for every creature comfort without compromising the feel of rusticity and timelessness (ours had a comfy king bed and kitchen). The grounds - complete with historic mansion - are meticulously groomed and beautiful. The place is idyllic, friendly, and I dare say - close to perfection. As far as other amenities, there's the expansive beach, perfect for walking, beachcombing, and viewing wildlife. There's a swimming pool, golf, shuffleboard, puzzles, and a friendly, attentive staff who keeps the whole place meticulously groomed. Dogs allowed, and if you don't have one, the resident yellow retriever Scout is willing to keep you well-attended. Port Townsend and other historic hamlets are minutes away, as well as the incredible parks, beaches and wilderness the Peninsula has to offer. If I had to describe the experience in just a few words, I'd pick...peaceful, beautiful, timeless - like paradise. If you want a getaway experience where you can say at the end "I wish I could stay forever" - Chevy Chase Cabins could very well fit the bill.
