Loved my experience with Mechele! I came in with Gel-X covering my nails and they made sure to call and ask me how best to work with that so they could take off the polish without hurting the nails. I talked with Mechele the ENTIRE time and it was like hanging out with a friend! The pedicure station was very atypical but so cool - I was put in an anti gravity chair so my toes would be up high! I felt SO rested afterwards. She did an amazing job and I am definitely going back again! One note - it took me a while to find the place because the sign out front is for another business. I am a 65 year old gentleman that thought I would never need a pedicure. I am diabetic so I talked to my doctor about the foot care I would receive with a pedicure and she thought it would be a good idea. I also have trouble trimming my toe nails. So I splurged and schedules a pedicure with Mechele. I now plan to do this every month. Mechele was charming and skilled. The experience was very relaxing. Turns out her father had some of the same foot care issues as I do so I felt she was the perfect person to help me. I wasn't going to leave a review and figured you would close on your own. My manicure was like having nail day with my 12 yo niece changing my polish. Not worth $40. I went back home and told my family they couldn't believe there wasn't any cuticle hot water dip. If you want a polish change they are great. If you want a manicure go somewhere else. No sign either for the business. I poked my head into 3 other businesses before I found where I was going. I'll go back home and spend $20 on a complete manicure not just a polish change. read more

I had a great deep tissue massage here with Cynthia. She checked in with me several times to see if the pressure was ok, but not too often to be annoying. The room was brighter than I'd think for a massage due to a skylight, but she offered an eye covering which I took her up on. While I was waiting beforehand, the woman at the front desk who does facials there gave me advice about how to get rid of dry skin on my face. I would definitely go back! read more

Spa seems to be in an old house that has converted. It's not your typical spa atmosphere but they do a great job with the services they offer. I had pedicure and facial done here and they were great. Michele was really pleasant and easy to talk to. She also does a great facial. Highly recommended. read more

My first visit for Harbor Spa (no-chip mani) and I was very pleased! Beth (owner) provided my service and she was not only very pleasant to talk to, but she's extreme detailed with the manicure! I chose Harbor Spa after reading there story online; I love the fact that they are carrying on a tradition envisioned by the original founder (who sadly passed away). Beth, keep up the great work! I really don't know why every review on here isn't 5 stars. My husband and I live in Chicago and get away to a cabin in New Buffalo about once every two years. 60% of our reason for doing this is just to go get a massage at Harbor Country Day Spa. These are the best massages I've ever had - and I've been to a lot of places, including the high-end places on Michigan Avenue. The best part is that they are so much cheaper than places in the city! If I owned my own car, I would probably drive the 2 hours here just to get a massage more often. Matt is the BEST - and I am normally not comfortable with male therapists. He puts me completely at ease. One time he stopped for a minute during a massage because he could tell I get migraines from my neck tightness, and he wanted to consult a book to make sure he was using the right pressure techniques. I was really impressed by this. I don't expect a professional to know every single thing off the top of their head. I loved that instead of just skipping over that and going on to the rest of my body, or continuing to massage my back in the way that he knew, he was willing to consult something to relieve my pain and make sure he did it the right way. I went to Harbor Spa for a prenatal massage. While the actual masseuse was great, the ambiance left quite a bit to be desired... including a relaxing experience. There was a lot of chatter/noise from the lobby area that drifted into the and was disruptive. I might have been able to get over that if the room did not have a large sunlight that lit up the entire room - rather than having a darkened room as most spas do, this room was lit up like all the lights were on or you were standing outside in the middle of the sun. My husband was in another room for a massage and had the same experience as well and ended up putting on his sunglasses. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this spa. read more

Such an amazing masseuse (Cynthia I think?) I had pulled something in my back when I slept funny. We were in Union Pier for a wedding and found them through Yelp and so glad I did. It was very easy to make an appt online and I had the hot stone massage which was so so good. This spa could really use some lessons in customer service. It is customary to greet people and welcome them to your business not stare at them, say nothing and make them feel uncomfortable. Massage was fine but again not very friendly spa. read more

I have been going to Harbor Country Day Spa for years and trust me I am a critic when it comes to a massage. Matt is one of the best! This is a quaint spa, parking is great, service is wonderful and the price is right. I usually get 1.5 hour massage with Matt. Everyone is excellent if Matt is not available. read more
