WORST MANICURE OF MY LIFE. When we arrived for mani/pedi, the building was still locked at 9:57 am. It opens at 10 am. Three techs finally arrived at 10:07 am. The blonde blamed her late arrival on the train. We didn't know where to sit, so we asked. They talked to each other but not to us (talking smack about a client and another co-worker). Start to finish, my manicure lasted 5 minutes. No soak. No cuticle softener. A very coarse nail file wrecked my nail, so I asked her to stop buffing my nail bed. She seemed annoyed at this request. Cuticle was not removed, so I asked her to remove it. She obliged but then said she doesn't remove cuticles. She seemed irritated so I asked her not to paint my nails, and I left. The pedicure was mediocre, but the paint did not meet the cuticle. It already looks grown out. I will never return to this establishment. Also...it was hot. The technician even commented on the heat. The door was open rather than AC. MANAGEMENT: You need to provide better training, quality assurance and monitoring. There is no receptionist, so every time a call came in, we had to listen to the answering machine (which was very loud). We commented on this as well, and a tech said that they can't hear the phone ring if they turn it down. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Time and money wasted. read more

They were able to take that and make it my perfect wedding manicure and pedicure! I did not receive an adequate pedicure. They claimed they didn't have time for a no chip when I was one of two customers in there so I accepted a normal pedicure. Then they did not fully remove my previous nail color which you can now see through the paint job they did -- a very uneven paint job. Moreover I asked for exfoliation because I wear heels often and she managed to exfoliate for one minute removing next to no dead skin. Worst pedi I've ever gotten. Staff was very blah. No personality and I got the impression they were annoyed (After they were late getting started) Chopped my nails and barely cleaned them up before slapping new gel polish on. Paint all over my cuticles and you could even see little bits of old polish that they didn't take the time to clean up. A friend came with me and she didn't even get close to the color she wanted (selection poor) and they clipped her cuticle so bad that she was bleeding all over. I just wanted a clean, comfortable, easy-going atmosphere with people who know what they are doing, and are willing to discuss options! Finally, I've found it! My technician was Rene, but I've got the feeling everyone there is fine! Easy to drive to, fresh, airy, and so welcoming. Rene was attentive, careful, and did exactly what I needed. Super pleased - and I've tried a lot of places! Plus, it's right in New Buffalo, so good shopping, food, and the lake at the end of the road are there for you too! I'm pretty sure I just paid a girl to paint my nails. This was not a manicure at all. AND the price was higher than most places. I get it, tourist town and its a cute little boutique, but it was NOT worth the extra money. Back in Chicago burbs I can get an outstanding manicure (with paraffin wax and a back massage) for $12. We called ahead asking if they could fit us in that day. Four of us, 3 basic manicures and one no chip. They said no problem, come in at 4 (which I believe was about one hour from their closing time). We showed up on time and they all seemed annoyed we were there. Did they not think we would show up? All of the techs seemed really young and just ready to leave and go out and party. My nails were probably done in 15 minutes. They do not accept tip on the credit card, so have cash handy. Rude and dishonest. I have gotten several no-chip manicures from top salons to local hole-in-the-wall salons, and let me tell you this place is not worth your money! No massage for no chip manicure! My first visit: No chip manicure and pedicure. Manicure chipped the second day, as I walked out I noticed bubbling, but of course didn't have additional time to "fix" as I'd have to remove it etc., I waited a few days to see whether other nails would chip, another did!! I called and they said come in and we will do it for no cost. I came in the following weekend and they couldn't get me in. Then I asked if i came in next week could they honor their word of no cost, they said NOO bc id be paying for a new manicure by that third week anyway. I said to owner- , so you're going against your word and now you're going to charge me, and she said yes in a very rude tone. I give this place 5 stars for awesome customer service, a relaxing pedicure, and great nail techs! My technician was Quinn, she was professional, efficient, and gave a relaxing pedicure! All of the other nail techs were very nice and professional as well! Pros: great selection of nail polish, great massage, relaxing massage, clean polished nails. Cons: they seemed to mix up our 11:30 appointment for 3 girls at 11 and 3 girls at 1pm (there were 6 of us so we wanted to have our pedis done together). Also overall cleanliness could improve (cleaning off old junk from lotion pumps and clean steam towels with no previous stained polish) If I were to come back to New Buffalo I would for sure make a stop back in for their Spa Pedicure! read more

I was on vacation when I went here. I was very pleased with the color selection, but the manager was my manicurist and I've had better. I asked for no-chip polish over acrylic paste to make the no-chip last longer. They did that, but they wanted to do a fill instead of starting from scratch because the manager said it would be easier. I was ok with that, but she just wasn't very meticulous. After filing off the polish that had been there for a month, there was dirt under my nails. I got the feeling that she was going to forget to clean my nails, so I asked her if she could. She said "Well, I'll try, but, I mean, if it's under the nail bed..." That's the wrong response. Isn't part of a good manicure coming out with clean and shiny nails? She did it, but she almost left a big chunk of dirt under one of them. (I pointed it out, so she got it.) I also realized when I got home that the nails weren't all the same length. Again, that's part of a good manicure. They were also left too long. She also almost missed a part of my toe when she did the manicure. I had to point that out too. If I had watched her like a hawk the entire time I might have come out with a better mani, but the point is to relax. Also, it cost $80.00 and they didn't even do any nail art. In Chicago I do acrylic overlays all the time WITH nail art for the same price. I gave a 15% tip because I do appreciate them working during COVID, but the manager's mind was definitely somewhere else that day and I won't go back! read more

Maybe it's just how the Midwest rolls? I've been here a handful of times. The emoji that comes to mind is the one with the straight horizontal line for a mouth. Speaking of emojis, the ambience of this place is that of a fundraising snack bar run by the junior class at a high school football game. If you're looking for efficiency, look further. Your session is likely to last an excruciatingly long time... but not because of care or attention to details. Everyone likes a little iconic small town gossip at the local salon, but frequent pausing for the sake of adolescent babble and/or attempts at middle school-style flirtation with the dude nail tech (whose name I think is Peter, and appears to be the only human being in the place with any concept of work ethic) get old quickly. Nail file poised in the air, slack-jawed and blinky, the number of times my nail tech stared off into space was ALMOST impressive. Not so good with the multi-tasking, these girls. As for the quality of the work, depending on who you get, it's not terrible, but not great either. It's best to be as clear as possible. My recommendation is to speak slowly. And if you want your nails to look pretty for some specific event, go the day of (but give yourself ample time), one day before at most, unless you like the aesthetic of a chipped thumb and/or forefinger on your dominant hand. And if by chance you're feeling nostalgic for your old lunch table in the cafeteria, then this place is totally for you. Ah shit. I almost forgot to mention the Maroon 5... See, I know this is an opinion, and in my own personal hell the music of Maroon 5 cannot be escaped. That being said, these girls seemingly love Maroon 5. The salon is tired with old, frayed stained towels and no magazines to read. She had a manicure and it looked as of my 8 year old daughter would have done a better job! Had to walk her back in there to have it redone and the girl working there that odd her manicure was very rude for having to redo her amateur paint job. The girl doing my nails was a little harsh when working on my toes and although they look ok, I feel like I've had much better pedicures in the past. The manicure was your average run of the mill manicure...except that a couple hours later, the polish was already jacked up. Also, the staff started vacuuming while there were customers getting their nails done. There is nothing relaxing or pampering about a vacuum going. The hand massage felt amazing but as far as the quality of the mani, I would not recommend this place again.
