This place wasn't that great. I noticed it was kind of dirty. The staff that I came in contact with who did my manicure and pedicure, weren't that great. My pedicure was so so. I asked him to trim down my nails and he didn't do it. There were also some bumps in the polish. The manicurist was just odd.. She didn't talk the whole time even though she spoke perfect English. She wasn't that friendly at all. It just seemed like she was just doing her job and that's it. Not personable at all. It was just an awkward silence through the whole service. First time at this nail salon and spa! Really liked it and my nails were done in 45 minutes! I received an acrylic fill and nice colors for Christmas! The salon owner Billy was my nail tech and really kind and courteous! Offered me water and had a candy bar for kids and guests. Even gave my daughter a juice box while she was waiting for me. Came in for a gel manicure and the whole thing felt rushed. Noticed the nails looked bumpy after the first round of gel was applied. After the second coat they were still see through and bumpy. They went ahead and just finished them. I had nail polish all over my skin, nails hurt, and a nail broken. I ended up rushing to another salon to get them removed. read more

I chose a French manicure for both my finger and toe nails. The woman working on me worked hard to perfect it. I was amazed. I got the gloss & so far it has stayed on for a week. A friend of mine has had hers on for a few weeks now. I like the idea of not having to paint my nails over and over. One con.....the price. I ordered the $37 deal. I went here for a spur of the moment trip with my sister. The staff was friendly and the environment very busy. We were shown to our seats as they asked us what we were they for and showed us colors for our manicures. I went for a gel manicure that cost me $42. Overall I had a great experience besides my nails weren't actually dried and ended up smudging to which they seemed a little irritated and told me I should've put my nails in the light machine that hardens and dries the nails. After informing them I already did once, they said I should've done it a second time which I didn't know. This in turned messed up the lines on my left hand which they tried to redo but it only left them to be very thick. Overall I enjoyed it but I was little dissatisfied with the way it ended. I called ahead and asked about airbrushing. I was told that one person would do my nails, and the owner would do the airbrush. When I got there, I sat almost a half an hour before they could take me, even though I had an appointment and was early. I singular man did both my nails and then "attempted" to do my airbrush. I cannot put into words how absurd of an experience this was. He screwed it up at least ten times until my fingers were caked in polish, was attempting to use a hand made stencil- took all the polish off my nails and rebuffed them, repainted them, and completely started over- all before allowing his boss to do it like the original plan. I was there nearly three hours (11:30 apt, left shortly after 2.) for a detail I have gotten done many times at other salons that takes usually 2 minutes. On top of that, they offered me NOTHING! for the terrible service. they had the balls to charge me 15 dollars for airbrush after destroying my nails for three hours straight. I will never return! Also, fyi, eating pizza in front of your customers is pretty gross. read more

Great salon! Went here because, as well all know, the crap show called illinois is still in "lockdown". This salon is so clean- and the staff are spectacular!!!!! Great pedicure and she did a great job with my dip French. And for all the worriers- they have plexiglass in front of and on the sides of every pedicure chair. They also have a huge plexiglass across the bar you get your nails done at. Take the trip. It's worth it!!! read more

The nail technician was pleasant and she did an OK job in my pedicure and gel manicure, but it only lasted about 8 days before it began to chip. I've had this problem everywhere I go in Valpo, so I would say they are as good as anywhere else in Valpo. Not sure if they all dilute their polish or what, but when I have my nails done in my home state it lasts at least a full 2 weeks. read more

I went to get a pedicure, just wanted a simple ombré with glitter the lady was extremely rude. Rushed through it. I'm not sure if she didn't know what ombré meant but my toes look like crap and she didn't even massage my feet she exfoliated my legs and then just started painting. Got a gel manicure, with a simple French design in a different color. The manicure took an hour an a half which seemed a bit long. The manicure itself was ok nothing special. The polish was very thick and clumpy and dried with some things stuck in it, it just did not turn out very clean around the edges etc. She used the paraffin wax and it was way too hot and burned my hands. I also got an eyebrow wax which turned out pretty well. However the tools seemed not freshly cleaned which was kind of gross. read more

I paid $50 for a pedicure that lasted less than a week. They did not trim my nails or clean out the crevices on my toes that needed it. They used a nail polish called Gelixir that wore off in less than a week. It might be because the base coat was not properly applied. He literally used one dip of the brush to coat all ten of my nails and barely got the middle of each nail. It could also be that the polish needed UV to set each coat and he did not do that either. All he did was fan the nails to dry between each coat. I'm not the professional. I just asked for a basic pedicure. The lotions and scrubs we nice, but my heels were also still rough after only being scrubbed with pumice bar. I was in a pinch and needed new color and a clean up but will never return to Cosmos. Not worth the $60 after tip, although the staff was friendly. read more

Very nice place to get manicure and pedicure. They di a great job! Price for no chip mani was $35 which is very reasonable and lasted for 3 weeks. The decor is new, modern, bright and inviting. I like the personal touches they offer such as the Voss water, Perrier, candy/mints and wine. Even the hooks for your purse is a nice touch. If you want long acrylic nails do not come here. They turned out really cute initially, but then four or five of my nails broke after only about 3 days. The nail salon I go to now told me that the problem with Cosmo's Nails is that they make their nails too thin for long acrylic nails to be able to hold up well. Aside from that, EXTREMELY friendly staff, owner remembers regulars' names (even if they aren't his clients), wide selection of colors, variety of services offered, and they all do amazing work! I get a regular polish, acrylic fill ($15) and unlike the normal 2-week life, I can get 3 weeks out of my manicures! Tip: Only accepts cash/check for tips, but you can pay card for service. read more

They were very rough with filing my nails to the point they cut my fingertips open. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they didn't even try to resemble it they did my nails very fast and lazily. Not thrilled with my mani/pedi experience. The pedicure was fine, pretty standard. But through the course of both the mani/pedi experience I was nicked no less than three times when my cuticles were being trimmed-once on my toe and twice on my fingers. I left with a bloody nail, in fact. Additionally, there are more bubbles in the paint than I've ever had. Perhaps, other technicians are better, but I would not recommend the man that did mine. Also my daughter got acrylics and one nail is crooked which we didn't notice til we left. $59 is a steep price for that. My pedicure was $30 but felt like it should've been $20.
